Stronger Every Time I Die

Chapter 704 Julie’s Stand

The Anti Bullying Force spread across the globe in just two short years. This had been Arthur’s dream since he was young. Now, with the backing of Heaven’s Cult, his position, and his extraordinary mind, he had finally made it a reality. In an office building in Seacity, a familiar face sat in a spacious conference room. If Ashley had been there, she would have recognized her old classmate from Kongyin—Lindsay. The conference room was large, but there weren’t many people inside. Across from Lindsay sat another familiar face—Julie. Julie’s head was lowered, her fists clenched tightly, forcing herself to hold back. Lindsay stood above her, looking down with open disdain. “Julie, don’t think you’re still that young lady you used to be. You’re just a pathetic cast-off now. I’m your superior, and the fact that I’m even willing to look at your proposal is a blessing for you. You should be grateful.” Julie’s knuckles whitened, veins standing out as she fought the urge to punch Lindsay right then and there. Gritting her teeth, she snapped back, “That proposal is mine! You stole it without my permission—that’s illegal!” Her voice was nearly a roar. She had spent half a month on that proposal—half a month of barely sleeping, eating only enough to get by, pouring all her time and energy into it. And Lindsay had shamelessly stolen the fruits of her labor. But Lindsay wasn’t just her supervisor—she was the daughter of the company’s president. Julie knew that no matter how angry she was, she couldn’t afford to lose this job. Lindsay had been throwing her weight around for years, and Julie wasn’t her only victim. But this time, the theft was brazen. Lindsay stared at her in surprise. She knew Julie had guts and ideas—but she also knew how much Julie needed this job. And that was exactly why she dared to push her around. “You’ve grown bold, daring to talk back to me?” Lindsay sneered. Julie’s anger faltered. Lindsay was right—she couldn’t risk it. Losing this job could mean another long, desperate struggle for survival, a struggle she had endured once before and never wanted to repeat.Julie lowered her head, clenching her fists and biting her lip, forcing herself to calm down. Seeing she had cowed her, Lindsay’s smugness deepened. “Do you really think you’re still a Gray family princess? Even if Gray Corp still existed, it was nothing more than a speck compared to us. You dare to challenge me?” She circled Julie, looking her over like prey. “I heard your precious Gray Corp was swallowed up by that good-for-nothing brother of yours, Arthur. And now he’s playing hero, starting some so-called Anti Bullying Force?” Lindsay burst into mocking laughter. “Anti Bullying Force? Does he think he’s going to eliminate all the bullying in the world? What a joke!” Her tone turned sharp, vicious. “He’s a useless man married to a useless woman, Ashley. And he thinks people will worship him?” Julie’s fists trembled, her eyes burning red with fury. She could tolerate insults to herself—but not to Arthur and Ashley. She slammed the documents on the table with a sharp bang, startling Lindsay. “Lindsay! You can say whatever you want about me, but I will not allow you to insult my brother and sister-in-law!”
