Stronger Every Time I Die

Chapter 584 The Snap

The man was still fuming, ready to continue his tirade—only to be cut off mid-sentence. Suddenly. Thud. A dull, heavy smack rang out. Something flew straight from Arthur’s direction and slammed right into the man’s face. No one saw it coming. Whatever it was, the impact knocked the man backward as if he’d taken a punch from a heavyweight. He went crashing to the ground. Everyone gasped. When they looked closer, they realized what had hit him—a slipper. A men’s slipper, hard-soled. A deep red sole print was already blooming across the man’s face. A slipper. That powerful? How did Arthur have that kind of strength? Before anyone could react, Arthur burst forward, vaulted over the gate, and ran straight to the man who was now writhing in pain. While the crowd cried out in shock, Arthur threw himself onto the man’s chest, wound up his fists, and started swinging—left, right, left again—all aimed directly at the man’s mouth. The first punch made blood start to spill. His front teeth began to wobble. The second sent a tooth flying, blood flooding his mouth. The third knocked out even more teeth. The man finally started to react, trying to fight back. But how could a pampered, overweight official possibly hold his own against Arthur? His punches were clumsy and slow. Arthur knocked them aside with ease. One particularly desperate swing got his wrist shattered in the process. He struggled, trying to push himself up, but Arthur had him completely pinned. He couldn’t move an inch. Arthur’s eyes were bloodshot. He was in a blind rage, hammering punch after punch into the man’s face.Ashley stood frozen in shock. She had never seen Arthur this furious before. Not even when Zac framed him. Not even when the Gray family betrayed him. Never. But now, after hearing that man talk filth about her—this was the moment that made him snap. Ashley rushed forward, trying to pull him off. "Arthur! Stop! Arthur! Arthur!" Her voice rang out as she ran toward him. At the sound of her voice, Arthur froze. He turned to look at her. His face was still twisted with fury, sharp and dangerous. Ashley stopped in her tracks, shaken by the sight of him like this. Arthur reined himself in slightly. His voice came quick and tense. "Ashley, go back inside. Stay out of this." The tone in his voice made her heart tremble. Without a second of hesitation, she nodded. "Okay. I’m going. Just calm down." She hurried back to the courtyard and shut the door. Only then did Arthur look back down at the man beneath him. That brief moment had cooled his head a little. The man’s face was unrecognizable now. His front teeth were gone. Blood poured from his gums. The skin around his mouth was shredded and pulpy. Arthur had gone all in. The man hadn’t stood a chance. When the crowd finally saw him up close, everyone gasped in horror. So this… this was what people meant by “beat the mouth off him.” Arthur hadn’t just ruined his mouth—he’d knocked out every single tooth, top and bottom. No one could believe what they were seeing. Not even the man himself. He lay there in a daze, unable to comprehend what had just happened. From the slipper to the flurry of fists—it had all happened in a flash. His mind couldn’t catch up. Never, not once, had he thought this skinny kid would actually attack him. And never, ever, did he imagine Arthur would be this strong. Every punch he threw in return was knocked aside with eerie precision. Arthur moved like he had eyes in the back of his head, anticipating every counter and crushing it. After just a few exchanges, the man hadn’t landed a single hit. And worse—his own hand was nearly broken just from trying.
