Stronger Every Time I Die
Henry practically jumped in place, his face twisting in fury. His finger trembled as he pointed at Ashley, so enraged he could barely speak. "What… What did you just say! Say that again!" His lackeys, finally snapping out of their shock, erupted in disbelief. "You actually dared to talk to Henry like that?! You're done for!!!" "With that attitude, you think you can still meet Mr. Tremo? Dream on!" "You're finished!" "Completely done for!" They were so pissed off they couldn’t even come up with new lines. Ashley, amused, glanced at Henry’s trembling hand. That was it? His reaction time was even worse than the petty, jealous girls back at Skyward Academy. Her lips curled into a smirk as she said, "Wow. Not only are you dumb, but your hearing is terrible too. How does Finley even tolerate having you around?" She paused for a moment, then suddenly acted as if she had a grand realization. "Ohhh~ I get it now." Her exaggerated expression piqued the curiosity of the crowd. Even Henry’s rage briefly stalled as he stared at her, waiting for what she would say next. He was so used to flattery from girls that, for a split second, he actually thought she was about to compliment him. His brain hadn’t fully adjusted to being publicly humiliated yet. Under everyone's watchful eyes, Ashley finally spoke. "They say a crooked master raises a crooked servant. I guess it’s only natural that a person like Finley would raise a dog like you." The words dropped like a bomb. The entire cafeteria fell into stunned silence. Eyes widened in disbelief.Did she just… Did she just call Henry a dog? And more than that—did she just imply that Mr. Tremo himself was a crooked master? Did she have any idea what she was saying! That was Mr. Tremo! Henry was completely dumbfounded. His mouth opened, but no sound came out. She had insulted him first, but now—now she was talking about Mr. Tremo?! She was practically calling him a dog too? Where did she get the guts for this! Henry wasn’t sure if he was more shocked or more furious. His entire body shook as he pointed at Ashley, voice cracking, "You—you—you—you—you’re saying Mr. Tremo is a dog?" The second the words left his mouth, the silence in the room somehow grew heavier. Everyone was at a complete loss. Should they be speechless at Henry’s stupidity? Or should they be worried for Ashley’s safety? And then— "Pfft—hahaha!" Ashley burst into laughter. Her bright, unrestrained laughter echoed through the cafeteria, making Henry’s face burn with humiliation. That was when he realized what he had just said. His face turned every shade of red and purple as he clenched his fists, looking like he wanted the earth to swallow him whole. Ashley wiped away a tear, grinning. "Finley? A dog? Oh, you said that, not me! I only said a master raises the kind of dog he deserves. I was calling you a dog. You were the one who called Finley one. Hahahahaha!" She burst into laughter again.Henry had been so flustered, he had completely tripped over his own words. Ashley would have had no problem calling Finley a dog herself, but hearing it come straight from Henry’s mouth? That was just too funny. The more she thought about it, the harder she laughed. Meanwhile, Henry was turning into a human chameleon—his face shifting from red to white to green, then back to red again. "You—you—you—you—you—you—!" He stammered, pointing at Ashley, but couldn't get a full sentence out. Finally, his rage hit a boiling point. Completely losing control, he lunged forward, raising his hand to hit her. Ashley had been expecting it. The moment his hand came down, her eyes turned icy. She caught his wrist with one swift motion. The strength in her grip made Henry flinch. A sharp pain shot up his arm. Henry’s eyes widened in shock. How—how was she this strong? Before he could process what was happening, Ashley twisted his arm and shifted her weight. "Bang!" With a scream, Henry was slammed hard onto the ground. The cafeteria went dead silent. For a few seconds, the only sound was Henry groaning in pain. Ashley flicked her wrist and dusted off her hands like she had just taken out the trash. Over the past two years, Arthur had been training in martial arts. And Ashley? She had picked up more than a few moves herself.
