Stronger Every Time I Die
The men hadn’t expected Arthur to move—let alone jump—while completely tied up. Caught off guard, they took the full force of his hit and stumbled back. But Arthur, unable to balance with his feet bound, crashed to the ground with a heavy thud. "Arthur!" Taylor’s voice cracked in panic as he scrambled to his side. Arthur didn’t waste a second—he locked eyes with Taylor and subtly signaled for him to untie his hands. Taylor was still rattled, but the instant he saw the determination in Arthur’s gaze, a sense of calm washed over him. Wasting no time, he edged closer, keeping low to avoid attention as he worked at the ropes behind Arthur’s back. The men Arthur had knocked down weren’t amateurs. They recovered almost instantly, their expressions dark with fury. One of them spat on the ground. "You son of a b*tch! You actually ambushed us?" "You must be out of your damn mind!" "Get him!" They weren’t worried. Finley had made it clear—As long as Arthur didn’t die, they could beat him however they wanted. Within seconds, every attacker turned their attention to Arthur, fists raised, ready to strike. Taylor’s heart pounded. The knot was too tight. He had no idea how it had been tied, and no matter how hard he fumbled with it, he couldn’t loosen it in time. No!There was no more time! They were already throwing their punches! In a blind panic, Taylor gave the ropes a frantic tug—and miraculously, the knot slipped free! Arthur's pulse surged with adrenaline. But instead of discarding the rope, he gripped it tight, turning it into a weapon. The moment the attackers’ fists closed in, Arthur snapped the rope through the air.Whip! Whip! Whip! The sharp crack of impact was followed by pained grunts as deep red welts appeared across their faces. Arthur didn't waste the opportunity. As they staggered back, he quickly unbound his feet. The fight exploded into chaos. Finley instinctively backed away, shaken by how quickly things had spiraled out of control. He was a spoiled rich kid, not a fighter. His entire life had been one of luxury—he had never witnessed a real fight up close like this. Even when Arthur and Taylor were kidnapped, he had let his men handle it. Sure, he had orchestrated abductions before, but the targets had always been defenseless people, the kind who couldn’t put up a fight. It had always been one-sided. This? This was not what he was used to. Arthur positioned himself firmly in front of Taylor, shielding him. This time, he wasn’t caught off guard. He wasn’t expecting to take down all of them, but at least he wasn’t completely at their mercy anymore. Even as he fought, his mind was racing. Where’s the exit? By now, it had to be close to sunrise. If daylight started breaking in, he could use it to locate a way out. But after all this time—nothing. The warehouse remained shrouded in darkness. Arthur’s chest tightened. This isn’t good. These men were professionals. He could hold his own for now, but if this dragged on any longer, exhaustion would set in. He needed a way out.He had to end this before it was too late. And with Taylor behind him, Arthur had to be even more careful. He couldn’t let him take another hit. One of the attackers kept trying to get to Taylor, forcing Arthur to split his attention—fighting off his opponents while keeping Taylor out of danger. The longer the fight dragged on, the more desperately Arthur scanned his surroundings. Finley, who had already stepped away from the fight, caught onto his intentions. He burst into laughter. "Arthur, give it up. This warehouse is inside another warehouse. Even if the sun rises, no light is getting in!" These men—Finley had personally trained them long before today. With them handling the fight, all Finley had to do was stay back where it was safe. He had to admit, Arthur’s skills were impressive. But there was no way Arthur could win against a group of professionally trained fighters. Arthur’s eyes lit up the moment he heard Finley’s words. Rather than feeling trapped, he saw his way out. With a powerful strike, he knocked back the men in front of him—then grabbed Taylor and sprinted straight for Finley! Take down the leader, and the rest will fall apart. If they got Finley, they wouldn’t have to fight their way out. Taylor had been staying sharp behind Arthur, sneaking in attacks wherever he could. His instincts kicked in immediately. The second Arthur yanked him forward, Taylor didn’t hesitate. He bolted forward, pushing himself harder than ever as he matched Arthur’s pace, running at full speed. Arthur moved fast—too fast. By the time the guards realized what was happening—Arthur had already broken through the encirclement!
