Stronger Every Time I Die
And yet, this was Governance University! The fact that there could be a thief within Governance University was shocking. Had Arthur not been a freshman, some might even start questioning the education at Governance University. Then, out of nowhere, someone in the crowd shouted. "Kick Arthur out of Governance University! Expel him!" This shout brought a moment of silence to the scene. Then, the crowd erupted into even louder cries. "Kick Arthur out of Governance University! Expel him!" "Kick Arthur out of Governance University! Expel him!" "Kick Arthur out of Governance University! Expel him!" The shouts were nearly deafening, echoing to the skies! That's how people were; they could be bystanders when it didn't concern their interests. But when it did, they stood on a moral high ground, demanding so-called justice. Listening to the loud shouts, Finley could barely contain a smirk! Being expelled from Governance University, which school would dare to take him in after that? He glanced at those leading the chants below. All that money spent on their education wasn’t wasted; they really came in handy at critical moments. With this, Hugo surely had no reason to keep him now! Public outrage is the hardest to quell, and this incident in the school would soon spread throughout all of Evergrand City. For Finley, that was just a matter of giving the order. Public opinion is an invisible knife—it can pull someone from a pedestal into the depths. Finley didn't believe Hugo would sacrifice his promising future for Arthur, someone he barely knew. No, not just his own future, but also that of his descendants! If Hugo insisted on keeping a thief as a student, his descendants and his entire family would suffer the repercussions on their reputation!Being part of a prominent family, Finley knew this all too well. Whether in high society or politics, what mattered most was one’s reputation! Mia and Sage stood among the crowd, their eardrums almost shattering from the shouts. Both clenched their fists, their eyes full of disgust for Finley on stage. Mia pulled out her phone and began searching for her father’s number, the head of the Lovaris family. It was clear this was a setup by Finley. She couldn't just watch her teacher and junior get framed and thrown into the fire of public opinion. Almost everyone was watching Hugo’s reaction. Hugo's face was extremely grim. Watching the crowd desperately demanding Arthur's removal from Governance University, Hugo couldn’t take it anymore. He suddenly grabbed the microphone, his voice booming with immense authority, resonating across the venue, reaching everyone's ears! "Enough!" His powerful voice sent a jolt through everyone present, silencing the venue instantly! In Hugo’s eyes was an authority that no one dared to look directly at. As his gaze swept over the crowd, those he looked at couldn’t even lift their heads. Seeing this, Finley’s heart, which had just leaped with joy, sank sharply. He looked at Hugo's eyes, almost spitting fire! This old fool, could he really be planning to oppose everyone, to make an enemy of the Tremo family, for a mere Arthur! Hugo’s commanding voice continued, "Arthur is my student, and I will decide what happens to him! What are you all fussing about!" "Boom!" Hugo’s uncompromising words struck like thunder in everyone’s ears! Indeed, Arthur was Hugo’s student, and how to handle the situation was Hugo's call. What stature did Hugo hold, and who were they, mere commoners, to dictate or demand how he should handle Arthur? The crowd fell silent instantly, the large square filled with people yet deathly quiet, so much so that you could hear a needle hit the floor!Arthur, looking at Hugo standing before him as if shielding him from an army, felt incredibly warm inside. He was truly fortunate to have encountered so many benefactors who cared for him— the Ashley family, Mateo from South High and Governance University, and others like Stanley, Taylor, Mia, Sage, and Hugo. They might seem carefree most of the time, but when he faced trouble, they would boldly and unquestionably stand in front of him, just to prevent him from getting hurt. Despite being abused since he was young, Arthur felt incredibly lucky; it seemed like a divine blessing to meet so many genuinely good people. Meanwhile, Finley's face was as long as a fiddle.
