Stronger Every Time I Die

Chapter 349 Cool as a Cucumber

Upon seeing the post that Finley shared, how could they restrain themselves? People, once their interests are involved, don't even need to think. The efforts Finley mentioned clearly referred to his unsolicited help for those impoverished students. Now, doubting himself, what if he stopped giving? What would happen to those who relied on Finley to afford school? They couldn't bear to think about it. And the culprits behind it all were Arthur and Taylor! Without them, they wouldn't be facing this risk! Finley would have continued his support, and they could have graduated from Governance University smoothly. Among those participating in the discussion were loyal followers like Kent and Henry, who were stirring the pot, making the conversation increasingly vitriolic. At this point, Sage and Mia had also opened the school group chat. Watching message after message, Mia slammed her phone down on the table. "Finley! He's definitely doing this on purpose! He wants to use those he's helped to take down Arthur and Taylor!" Sage put away his phone, his eyes filled with complex emotions. "That's the way of the world. Even if you've done nothing wrong, if you touch someone's interests, you become the target, condemned as utterly reprehensible!" Sage's tone was icy cold, devoid of any warmth. Seeing this, Mia quickly grabbed Sage's chilly hand, "Sage." Mia didn't finish her sentence, but Sage felt the warmth from the back of her hand. He gave Mia a smile and shook his head, "I'm fine." Seeing his coldness dissipate, Mia finally felt relieved. But Taylor and Arthur were focused on something else. They noticed Mia and Sage's tightly clasped hands. Taylor, as if he had discovered something astonishing, exclaimed dramatically, "Hey, hey, hey! What's going on here?"Noticing Taylor's overly obvious gaze, Mia and Sage quickly let go of each other's hands as if electrocuted. They turned away as if nothing had happened, but their ears turned subtly red. Mia awkwardly said, "What, what's going on? I was just comforting Sage because he seemed upset." Sage gave Taylor a stern look, "Mind your own business, kid!" Taylor wasn't so easily fooled, "No, no! Something's off here!" His round eyes darted back and forth between them. "You two, tell the truth, is something going on?" Mia knocked Taylor on the forehead a bit harder, "Mind your own business, kid! Shouldn't you be more concerned about the discussion in the group?" Taylor, always focused on the wrong things. And Arthur too! Mia shot Arthur a look, "Arthur, what's that smile about? You should be thinking about how to deal with these comments." Arthur couldn't help but burst out laughing at the sight of them. "What are you laughing at!" Mia's face reddened with annoyance. Sage glared at Arthur, mirroring Mia's expression. "Nothing, nothing." Arthur dared not laugh anymore. He managed to suppress his grin, "Mia and Sage really care about each other." As someone who had seen many relationships, Arthur could easily tell there was something more between them. Seeing them like this made Arthur miss Ashley even more. They had both been busy with their studies and hadn't seen each other for a while; even their video calls had become less frequent. He wondered how she was doing back in Skyward Academy. Hearing Arthur's words made Mia's face turn even redder! She hung her head, not daring to look at Sage. Taylor was somewhat puzzled, "Mia and Sage have always been close."Mia and Taylor were classmates, and since Taylor joined Governance University, he knew Mia and Sage had a great relationship, having known each other before. But he had always seen them as just very good friends. They were often busy with their own fields, and every time he wanted to hang out, they were unavailable. Taylor often joked that they were like an old married couple. Sage, embarrassed, quickly changed the subject. "There are so many people criticizing you guys at school right now, and you still have the heart to joke around here." Initially, Sage and Mia thought the two would be upset by the backlash. Surprisingly, they seemed utterly unconcerned, as if they hadn't taken it to heart at all.
