Chapter 335 Mateo’s Desk Suffers from His Wrath

The people standing behind Henry fell silent unconsciously under Mateo’s intense gaze. An eerie quiet filled the principal’s office. Those who had been arrogant just moments before were now equally meek and subdued! Finally, as everyone's cold sweat started trickling down, Mateo spoke. He slammed his palm heavily onto the desk and shouted furiously, "What is this? What's with all this commotion? What exactly are you trying to do here?" Everyone shuddered. Gritting his teeth, Henry summoned his courage and said, "Mr. Mateo, why aren't Taylor and Arthur being punished for beating people up? Kent and the others are still in the infirmary getting their wounds treated! Yet Taylor and Arthur can casually stroll into the cafeteria as if nothing happened!" By the end of his speech, Henry’s voice was almost a roar. Kent was his roommate; they had joined the student council together upon entering Governance University, always protected under Finley’s wing. Who would've expected they'd be beaten up now—and so severely at that! Even worse, those who attacked them are walking around completely unharmed! How could I tolerate this? Since hearing about the incident, Henry had started looking for Taylor and Arthur. He had followed them into the cafeteria, knowing many student council members would be there. It was the perfect chance for him to confront them publicly! Sure enough, the student council was united—most had received help from Finley in the past. Now, seeing their fellow council members bullied, how could they stay silent? As Henry finished speaking, the students behind him couldn't hold back either. There were so many of them—Mateo couldn’t possibly punish them all. They immediately started voicing their grievances loudly. "Henry is right! Why aren't Taylor and Arthur being punished for assaulting others?" "Mr. Everest stood up for justice but received unfair punishment, while the aggressors remain unpunished! This is completely unjust!" "Is the school condoning their bullying? Today it’s Kent, tomorrow it could be someone else! Are we supposed to just tolerate this?" "How can this be allowed? This matter is being handled too unfairly!" Mateo watched the outraged group, his eyes filled with disappointment. These were his students—most of those gathered here were sophomores. This meant they had already completed a full year of studies at Governance University. Yet they were still this blind! And to think they were studying law! Unable to bear it any longer, Mateo slammed his hand on the table again and shouted angrily, "Enough!" The students jolted in shock at Mateo’s sudden burst of anger, falling silent once again. Mateo stood up and pointed at them, clearly disappointed. His heart ached painfully at this moment! "All of you study law-related subjects, yet here you are, confronting me without even clearly understanding what happened! Do you even deserve your teachers’ efforts? Did all your knowledge go straight to waste? Do you have any respect for your parents who sacrificed so much for your education?" Mateo’s sharp questions drained the color from many students’ faces. Most of them came from ordinary families. They knew very well the sacrifices made to enter Governance University. Seeing that Mateo had intimidated the crowd, Henry gritted his teeth and quickly said, "We know Kent’s character! He’s helped many of us! He would never initiate a fight. Taylor and Arthur must be lying—they’re framing him!" Henry’s voice was deliberately loud, emphasizing his certainty. He was speaking not only to Mateo but also reassuring himself. Henry genuinely understood Kent’s personality. But he was also aware that Kent could be impulsive sometimes. However, having reached this point, he had no way back. He had to press forward stubbornly. The classmates behind him regained confidence hearing Henry’s affirmation and quickly echoed his sentiment. "Exactly! Kent helped me before. He's a kind, helpful student. There's no way he'd start a fight!" "Kent helped me, too! And the other three who got beaten—they've also helped me before. How could such good people randomly attack others? It must’ve been Taylor and Arthur who attacked them unprovoked!" "Me too!" "And me!" Seeing their enthusiastic support, Henry breathed a quiet sigh of relief. Deep down, he understood Mateo wouldn’t make such decisions without evidence. But he had gathered a large group to confront Mateo this time—surely the principal couldn't ignore so many voices.
