Stronger Every Time I Die

Chapter 319 Zac’s Burning Jealousy

"Good, good, good!" Hugo said enthusiastically, helping Arthur up alongside Devon. "I want to spar with you in the future, so you better visit Skyward Academy often!" Devon said, giving Arthur a hearty slap on the shoulder. Arthur grinned. "Then you better go easy on me when the time comes. Don’t mess up my handsome face!" "Pfft!" Arthur’s words successfully lightened the mood, making everyone laugh. The heavy atmosphere from before instantly dissipated. Rowan had already composed herself, reverting back to her usual arrogant, untouchable professor persona. "You brat, you already have Ashley. Why do you even care about looking handsome?" "Hahaha!" Laughter filled the courtyard. Arthur smirked knowingly. "Ms. Rowan, you’ve got it all wrong. If I stop being handsome, what if Ashley doesn’t want me anymore?" "Hahaha!" Ashley’s face turned bright red as everyone burst into laughter. Meanwhile, in a secluded house in Seacity… Zac and Renee sat in front of the TV, watching one shocking news report after another. The barrage of headlines from South City made them so furious they were about to explode! Zac clenched his teeth. "Arthur! Why him? Are these professors blind? How could they possibly see potential in that loser?" Renee’s once-delicate face twisted with rage. "My son is far superior to Arthur! Can't these professors see that? Just because he ranked first? As if grades alone prove anything!" Outside Arthur’s house, reporters had already started live-streaming, broadcasting every update in real-time. The entire nation was watching in disbelief—so many renowned professors were personally vying for him. Some envied him, while others, especially the so-called "geniuses" of their own circles, burned with jealousy. Without Arthur even realizing it, he had already made a number of enemies. His college life was bound to be anything but peaceful. Teachers could open doors for him, but the path ahead depended on Arthur alone. Whether he could navigate university life unscathed was entirely up to his own abilities. After cursing for a while, Zac finally turned to Renee and asked, "Mom, what did Dad say? Has he arranged for me to get into my university?" His eyes shone with anticipation. He had set his sights on Fusion University. Now that he had his own company, he wanted to study finance and management seriously—to grow his business into something even greater. Zac silently swore to himself—he would build an empire bigger than Cloudia Corporation! He would crush Arthur beneath his feet, ensuring he would never rise again! Renee had no idea what was running through Zac’s mind. When he mentioned university, her expression stiffened slightly. She remained silent for a while before finally taking Zac’s hand. Trying to sound as gentle as possible, she said, "Zac, look at yourself. You’re still recovering. The doctor said it might take several more months for you to heal completely. You won’t be able to start university anytime soon." Zac froze. Thinking she had misunderstood, he quickly clarified, "No, mom! The doctor already said I’ll be able to remove my cast before school starts. As long as I’m careful, I can still attend classes." He looked at her expectantly. "Mom, has dad already made arrangements for me at Fusion University? I want to get a head start so I can keep up with everyone." Saying this, Zac instinctively used voice commands to pull up his laptop. The screen lit up, displaying the finance courses he had been studying for weeks. Seeing how serious he was, Renee’s expression became uneasy. She hesitated before finally saying, "Zac, you don’t have to go to Fusion University. There are plenty of other schools where you can learn the same things." Zac froze again. "Mom, there’s no better finance school in Lioran than Fusion University." His eyes bore into Renee, filled with confusion. Renee looked away, avoiding his gaze. Then, as if something had clicked in his mind, Zac’s eyes brightened with excitement. "Mom! Does dad want me to study abroad instead?"Some international universities weren’t as prestigious as Fusion University, but they had their own unique advantages. Studying overseas wasn’t a bad idea. However, he had just received control over some of John’s assets. If he left the country, he wouldn’t feel at ease managing them from afar. But before he could entertain the thought any further, Renee cut him off abruptly.
