Stronger Every Time I Die

Chapter 30

"And you, Zac," Julie's gaze turned to Zac, her voice tinged with a distinct chill. "Arthur is the legitimate son of the Gray family! He's the child mum carried for ten months, my younger brother, and your elder brother! When did he ever become a pauper?" Her tone sharpened, anger spilling into her words. Although she had looked down on Arthur in the past, he was still her biological brother, the Gray family's rightful heir. This was an unchangeable fact. Disliking him was one thing, but allowing him to be bullied at school? That was unacceptable! Such behavior didn't just humiliate him, it disgraced the Gray family. This was precisely why, upon learning of the bullying, Julie had insisted on coming to confront him. Julie fixed her gaze on the stunned Zac, suppressing her fury before continuing, "Zac, without Arthur's consent, you've claimed your brother's fiancée as your own. Do you think that's appropriate?" Her words silenced the classroom entirely. Everyone stared at them in disbelief. What had she just said? She said Arthur is the Gray family's legitimate eldest son? And that the campus belle Tia is actually engaged to Arthur? Then...Zac is really just an adopted son? Could it be that everything Arthur had claimed was true? No way! The silence lasted only a moment before the crowd erupted. Zac had always presented himself as the sole heir of the Gray family and flaunted his status as Tia's fiancé. These dual identities had made him untouchable at school. But now, they were told it was all a lie! He wasn't the true heir of a wealthy family, and his claim as the campus belle's fiancé was equally false. At school, Zac and Arthur were extreme opposites. Zac was the wealthiest son, while Arthur was mocked as the poorest "pauper". They had frequently stepped on him, suppressing him at every turn. But now, to learn that they had been backing the wrong horse all along? Zac and Tia were utterly dumbfounded by Julie's revelation. They had never expected her to take this stance! Isn't she the one who had always adored him the most? Why would she, of all people, side with that wretched boy? And in front of so many people! How is he supposed to face his classmates after this? Meanwhile, the live stream had exploded. Messages flooded the screen, and the viewership numbers surged rapidly. "Oh, my gosh! That frail boy is really the Gray family's son!" "And just now, Zac was saying he was a fraud!" "What a bombshell! I can't believe this is happening!" "An adopted son trying to usurp the actual son's position?" "Seems like it! Oh my gosh, this is straight out of a TV drama. I'm grabbing popcorn. Anyone got a spare chair?" "The audacity of Zac! He's just an adopted child, yet he had the gall to call the actual son a pauper?" "Does he even know his place?" "But honestly, we've never heard of Arthur being part of the Gray family before this." "True. For him to be bullied like this at school, it's clear the Gray family turned a blind eye." "What kind of twisted family lets their adopted son bully their biological child?" At the Gray family residence. The family had just finished breakfast and was preparing to head out when Rosie's phone pinged with a notification. She instinctively opened it and was drawn to a trending topic, a live stream from Zac's school! Reading the barrage of angry comments, Rosie's eyes widened in shock. She gasped unconsciously, "What are they doing?" "What's wrong?" Susie leaned over to look at her phone screen. As soon as Susie saw the content, she let out a shocked cry. John frowned deeply. Susie was known for her impulsive nature, but Rosie was typically composed. What could have caused such a reaction from both of them? Rosie twisted her phone toward John and Raelynn. "Look at this!" The live stream appeared before them, accompanied by a flood of scathing comments. "How could this happen? What are they doing?" John roared in anger. "Why are they treating Zac like this? What could he possibly have done to deserve this?" Raelynn's eyes turned red, though it was unclear whether from anger or distress for Zac. Susie immediately pulled out her phone and joined the live stream.
