Stronger Every Time I Die
Arthur almost laughed in anger. Zac had bullied him for so long that he probably assumed Arthur would still cower as he used to, accepting slander without resistance and too scared to upset the Gray family. "If you're so confident, why don't we call the police? A quick investigation will reveal exactly when and where you were adopted from the orphanage by the Gray family." Zac's face turned pale. His fists clenched tightly, so hard his knuckles turned white. Suddenly, a flicker of realization flashed in his eyes. As if struck by a dreadful thought, Zac pointed at Arthur in disbelief. "Arthur! So this is your plan? You bribed the police to feed your delusions of grandeur! You're truly despicable!" His accusation instantly caused an uproar among the students. "Did he just say Arthur bribed the police?" "Does that mean Arthur intentionally picked a fight with Zac to bait him into calling the police, so he could plant fake evidence and ruin Zac's reputation? Is this his revenge?" "If that's true, then Arthur's goal is to make everyone believe he's the real Gray family heir, earning respect and feeding his vanity!" "I've heard of influencers pretending to be wealthy just to enjoy admiration and flattery." "Who would've thought Arthur would stoop to something like this?" "Of all families to fake being part of, why pick the Gray family? They adore Zac. Isn't he afraid of them publicly debunking this and humiliating him?" "He's clearly desperate. Getting beaten by Zac must have made him lose his mind, so now he's grasping at straws!" "People like him deserve a beating!" Listening to the students' comments, Zac's lips curled into a smug smile. All he had done was suggest Arthur bribed the police. He hadn't specified anything. The rest were just the students' imaginations running wild. This worked perfectly. It would make the Gray family wonder whether the surveillance footage they saw the other day had been tampered with by a crooked cop Arthur paid off. The Gray family had a habit of jumping to conclusions, and Zac was skilled at exploiting this tendency. But in his triumph, he failed to notice a striking figure standing at the classroom door. Julie had waited all morning outside the dormitory yesterday, hoping to see Arthur, but he never showed up, and his phone was unreachable. Today, she had come to the classroom specifically to find him. She wanted to get to the bottom of things. Did Zac really hit him? Were the surveillance videos their parents saw real? Before stepping in, she overheard the heated conversation inside. For once, Julie didn't rush to defend Zac. Instead, she stood quietly outside and listened. Every word of their conversation reached her ears. Her eyes widened in disbelief. What was Zac saying? He was denying Arthur's identity as the Gray family's heir at school? Indeed, our parents had publicly declared Zac as their biological son, but they had never said Arthur wasn't their child! Years ago, their parents had instructed Arthur not to reveal his connection to the Gray family at school to protect Zac. But now, Zac had taken the initiative to outright deny Arthur's status as the true heir in front of others! Where did he get the nerve? Julie couldn't take it anymore. She strode into the classroom. She was stunning, with fair, delicate skin, a tall, curvaceous figure, and an air of elegance that immediately drew everyone's attention. The noisy classroom fell silent the moment she entered. When Zac saw her, his heart skipped a beat. Had she heard what I just said? No, she probably hadn't. If she had overheard the argument, she would have rushed in earlier to defend him. With that thought, his panic eased. Before Julie could say a word, Zac darted to her side, smiling brightly. "Julie, why are you here?" Her arrival threw the classroom into a frenzy. It was Julie Gray, the eldest daughter of the Gray family and the youngest general manager of Gray Corporation! Not only was she breathtakingly beautiful, but she was also incredibly capable, leading Gray Corporation to several new heights in just a few years. She was a role model for their generation, the quintessential "perfect child" their parents always compared them to. She was always so busy that they never imagined they'd see her in person. Yet here she was, at their school, for Zac! Seeing the admiration and awe in the students' eyes, Zac's smugness grew. Leaning closer to Julie, he spoke affectionately, "Julie, you're so busy, yet you took time to come to school just to see me?" Then, with a feigned display of resilience, he added, "Don't worry about me, Julie. My injuries are much better now. I'm fine. You don't need to worry about me."
