Stronger Every Time I Die

Chapter 227 Tia’s Worst Day Ever

When Arthur opened the file, he was completely stunned by its contents! After reading through everything, his impression of David changed entirely. Arthur asked, "You did all this?" David raised an eyebrow and patted Arthur on the shoulder, looking completely at ease. "Kid, you should learn a thing or two. This won’t be the last time you run into a situation like this." "What’s going on?" Ashley asked, confused. Arthur handed her the file. After scanning through it, Ashley’s cheeks flushed slightly, but she couldn’t hide her excitement. "Brilliant! This approach is direct and effective—Tia’s lies will collapse on their own!" They were still standing at the door, so Arthur quickly invited David inside and served him a cup of premium tea. Though Arthur had his suspicions, he couldn’t help but ask, "David, how exactly did you get Tia to go with you for the forensic test?" David picked up his tea, taking a slow, appreciative sip. He didn’t know much about tea, but he could tell—this was the good stuff. It was slightly bitter at first, but the lingering sweetness that followed left an unforgettable taste. With a chuckle, he admitted, "She spent so much effort setting you up—of course, she wasn’t going to agree to the test willingly." David didn’t bother hiding anything. "I kidnapped her and took her there." "Cough, cough, cough!" Ashley had just taken a sip of tea and nearly choked on it. "Kidnapped her? As far as I know, she went home last night, didn’t she?" "Yeah, I got the news early this morning. She had just returned, finished breakfast, and hadn’t even had time to shower. I got there just in time." David smirked, clearly proud of his decisive action. He had to admit, his own quick thinking impressed him. Not only had he taken Tia, but he had also sealed off the room at Imperial Hotel to preserve the scene. Ashley was taken aback. "She was at home? Then her parents, Martin and Daisy, were there too, right? How did they let you take her?"David replied matter-of-factly, "So, I took them too." Uh? Even Arthur was shocked this time. David continued, "If I left them there, they would’ve called the police. Where would I have found the time to get the forensic test done?" After all, in this situation, without solid evidence, Arthur wasn’t legally considered a victim yet. Even if he had called the police, they wouldn’t have immediately taken his side. Tia could have easily flipped the narrative, putting Arthur at a disadvantage. That was precisely why Arthur hadn’t called the police right away last night. Without concrete proof, they couldn’t forcibly detain Tia. If she caught wind of their suspicions and washed away any physical evidence, proving Arthur’s innocence would have become much harder. David had immediately grasped the situation. It was obvious to him that Tia had set Arthur up. Though David was a self-made tycoon, he had spent enough years in high society to have seen plenty of these schemes. He had experience. While he hadn’t interacted much with Arthur, he had been keeping an eye on him and knew what kind of person he was. Tia came from a moderately wealthy family, yet she had humiliated Arthur by breaking off their engagement in front of a crowd. Arthur would have to be out of his mind to go back to her. Especially when he had Ashley, a stunning woman, by his side. Even if Arthur had been drunk, the fact that he had gone to such lengths to gather evidence afterward proved he hadn’t been with Tia. He had broken her setup just in time. Sure enough, after taking Tia in for a forensic test, the results were clear—there was no trace of semen in her body. Aside from her shoulder, there were no foreign fingerprints on her either. David didn’t even need to compare them to Arthur’s prints—the conclusion was obvious. "Now, take this evidence to the police. I’ve already sealed off the room at Imperial Hotel. The cops just need to check the bed, and they’ll see the truth for themselves. After that, release everything online, and the whole situation will be exposed." David grinned. Then, as if anticipating Arthur’s concerns, he added, "Don’t worry about the kidnapping part—I just invited them over for tea at my place. It’s not kidnapping. I’ll handle it, so relax." Arthur couldn’t help but give him a thumbs-up, "David, you really are something else." Last night had been the first time Arthur had ever faced a setup like this. The moment he had opened that door and seen Ashley, they had both panicked. At the end of the day, it was because they cared too much about each other that they had lost their composure. Arthur hadn’t even considered that Tia would go as far as sabotaging the surveillance cameras along the entire route just to frame him.
