Stronger Every Time I Die

Chapter 220 Fraser Family Drama

"Arthur is young and accomplished, a rare genius. It’s no surprise that Tia would choose him." "Hey, you must not be from South City. Back when Tia broke off her engagement with Arthur, she humiliated him to the extreme! And now she’s crawling back?" "Or maybe Arthur was two-timing all along, and now that he’s been caught, he’s just making excuses to protect his image." "That makes sense. After all, they say even heroes can’t resist a beautiful woman." "As if Ashley isn’t beautiful enough? He still had to go and cheat?" "Figures—people always want what they can’t have." Arthur only skimmed through the comments before shutting off his phone. The internet these days—people believed rumors without question. They weren’t interested in the truth; they just wanted to stir up drama. This was online harassment at its worst. Innocent people were often torn apart just because someone saw a fragment of a story and decided to run with it. The cycle of blind accusations, endless speculation, and ruthless attacks caused irreparable harm to those involved. In the worst cases, victims would break under the pressure and take their own lives—only then would these netizens stop. But by then, their guilt and apologies were nothing more than a pathetic joke. Arthur refused to let himself be distracted by this mess. His priority now was finding evidence. Meanwhile, Ashley’s social media was flooded with comments from people who believed they had "figured out the truth" and were offering her their version of support. Some even took on the role of avenging angels, tearing into Arthur with righteous fury. Ashley frowned at the overwhelming responses. “Sweetheart, don’t be sad. You’re amazing all on your own.” “Cheaters should be cut off completely! No mercy for scumbags!” “If you want to confront the homewrecker, we’re with you!” “Cheaters always make excuses. He doesn’t deserve forgiveness!”“How do you mistake your own girlfriend for someone else?” “I bet he wasn’t even that drunk. He probably just snuck off to cheat when you weren’t looking.” Reading these, Ashley didn’t know whether these people were genuinely concerned for her or just desperate to see her fit into their fantasy of a betrayed woman seeking revenge. Arthur reached over and gently closed her phone. "Stop looking at it. It’s all meaningless." Ashley frowned. "But… they’re all insulting you." Arthur remained unfazed. "People will always talk. We can’t control what they say. No matter what we do, someone will always have something negative to say. The only thing that matters is that we live our own lives the way we want to." Ashley looked up at him. "Arthur… I’m starting to think you don’t seem like an eighteen-year-old." Arthur froze for a moment. Well, technically, my mental age is twenty-six. After experiencing life and death, Arthur had learned to see things differently. He understood things with a clarity that most people his age didn’t have. Meanwhile, at the Fraser residence, Tia sat quietly at the dining table. Her parents, Martin and Daisy, sat on either side of her. Martin frowned and asked sternly, "Tia, what’s going on? Why were you with Arthur?" Daisy, on the other hand, looked pleased. She shot Martin a glare and said, "Stop scaring Tia! What’s wrong with her being with Arthur? He’s the chairman of Cloudia Corporation and a perfect SAT scorer. He’s a lot better than that loser Zac!" Martin’s eyes widened in disbelief. He said coldly, "Listen to yourself! Arthur might be an outstanding man, but he already has a girlfriend. If Tia gets involved with him now, she’s nothing more than a homewrecker! What does that do to our family’s reputation?" "Homewrecker?" Daisy scoffed. "How is she a homewrecker? They’re not even married! Tia is beautiful, and she got Arthur’s attention on her own. How is that wrong?" Martin’s expression darkened. "Don’t fool yourself. Arthur and Ashley’s relationship is strong. He even visited Ashley’s parents. Do you really think he’d just fall for Tia?" Daisy’s face twisted with frustration. "What are you trying to say? That Tia had to scheme to get Arthur?"She jabbed a finger at Martin, snapping, "Can’t you ever think positively about our daughter? She’s gorgeous! What man wouldn’t fall for her? What’s wrong with Arthur liking her?" Martin’s brows furrowed deeply. "That’s not what I meant." "Then what did you mean?" Daisy shot back, refusing to back down. As the two started arguing again, Tia felt nothing but irritation. Suddenly, she slammed her spoon onto the table. "Enough!"
