Her Mind Is Full of Juicy Gossip
Isabella simply couldn't resist her curiosity. She did a little digging on the gossip surrounding Maverick and Danielle. At that moment, another sound echoed from the doorway. Maverick and Mirabelle separated almost instantly, like a flash of lightning. Mirabelle hastily wiped her mouth, while Maverick's face turned ashen, as if he couldn't comprehend what he had just done. “What are you guys doing here? Maverick, this is the ladies' restroom!” An unmistakable voice of displeasure rang out. It belonged to Danielle, who had limped her way over. Danielle, dressed in a professional suit, her sleek short hair framing her pale skin and light-colored lips, exuded the image of a capable and strong woman with her striking beauty. However, as her gaze swept over the two individuals, her expression turned obscure and unreadable. Maverick remained silent, wearing a sullen expression, as if he couldn't be bothered to explain. “Oh my, what brings you all here?” Hendrick's surprised voice rang out as he entered. Tall, handsome, and radiant, he resembled an eighteen-year-old college athlete, slightly larger than Maverick, truly living up to his title as the campus heartthrob. Hendrick's voice, filled with concern, was heard. “Mira, why are you crying?” Now, the battlefield is set. Isabella watched with great enthusiasm. Alexander thought, “So we're seriously having a meeting in the restroom?” “I-I'm fine, it's just a misunderstanding.” Mirabelle began, “I accidentally fell, and I suppose Mr. Sutton heard the commotion and came in to help me.” She carefully glanced at Maverick as she spoke. Meanwhile, Maverick was staring intently as Hendrick tenderly pulled Mirabelle into his arms. He gently inquired what was going on and even affectionately kissed her forehead after. Maverick's gaze was filled with a murderous intent, but it was disrupted by Danielle, who walked over and gave him a slight tug, bringing him back to reality. Wow, spectacular. “All right, this isn't the place to talk. Let's move,” Danielle said, seemingly nursing a bit of a headache as she furrowed her brows. “Right, right, let's head out and continue discussing the performance and proposal,” Hendrick said, guiding Mirabelle toward the exit. Maverick coolly replied, “Is that so? Maybe you should ask Ms. Diaz first, she doesn't seem too keen.” Mirabelle trembled. Danielle was taken aback, looking at Maverick with suspicion. Could it be that Maverick knew how Mirabelle would respond? True. After all, they had just kissed. Hendrick looked at Mirabelle in his arms, his voice gentle as he said, “Mira, being a supporting actress is also an opportunity for you, you should know that. And didn't you say you'd be willing to marry me? I can propose to you in front of a national audience, wouldn't that be good? Of course, if you say no now, I'll immediately drop the idea.” Maverick's gaze shifted, his eyes darkening as they lingered on Mirabelle. Mirabelle hung her head low, embodying the image of someone too timid to look up, brimming with a sense of injustice and seemingly unwilling to speak. Hendrick's eyes flickered. “Well, since you're not—” “I'm willing.” Mirabelle immediately said, her voice however, lacked the crispness and decisiveness, almost as if it was a helpless act. Only after she finished speaking did she lift her head, casting a resentful glance at Maverick. “Fantastic, I knew it!” Hendrick exclaimed joyfully. He looked up at Maverick, only to find him with a grim expression. His eyes were unblinkingly fixed on Mirabelle, like a predator zeroing in on its prey. “Maverick, there's no problem now, right?” Maverick retorted icily, “Hmph, Hendrick, don't push your luck. This isn't your solo show, we're a team, merely partners. I'm not your stepping stone.” Danielle breathed a sigh of relief, at least Maverick didn't get all confused when it came to matters involving Mirabelle. “You're right, Mr. Yost. Whether it's your girlfriend making a guest appearance or a marriage proposal, it's all about your show, your popularity. In this scenario, Maverick seems to be just a supporting cast in your play, which isn't right. Even if the company insists, we will firmly refuse.” With a helpless expression, Hendrick said, “I really didn't intend to steal your limelight. Both Maverick and I are currently in a critical period of transition. If we don't seize this opportunity, it will be difficult for us to progress in the future. Given the high popularity of the A-listers, if we don't stir things up a bit, I'm afraid we'll be thoroughly overshadowed, with no chance to stand out.” He was indeed right. However, Danielle's greatest concern was the potential discovery of Maverick's past relationships. If such information were to surface, it would be advantageous for Hendrick, but detrimental for Maverick. Danielle was no fool. She knew she had to stand firm and reject such proposals, ensuring the benefits of the artist were protected. This was typically a matter of business, usually decided by Danielle. However, before Danielle could speak, Maverick suddenly changed his tone. “Proposing is out of the question. I can agree to play a supporting role, but in return, I would need to do something to balance the attention.” Mirabelle suddenly turned to Maverick as if she had been stung. Maverick almost provocatively stared at Mirabelle. Hendrick genuinely asked, “What's the matter? We can discuss anything.”Suddenly, Maverick turned his head, casting a tender gaze toward Danielle. Danielle was taken aback, instinctively stepping back, only to find herself encircled by Maverick's arms, pulled into his embrace. “Actually, I've been planning to propose to Dani soon.” Maverick confessed, his eyes filled with tender affection. “If I can use the stage, I'd love for us to receive blessings from audiences nationwide.” However, Danielle's face darkened. She opened her mouth but hesitated to speak. In the end, she chose to remain silent. Danielle must be cursing quite vulgarly. Alexander thought, “Doesn't Danielle like Maverick?” “Are you two together? No wonder everyone says you're so upright and avoid publicity. Maybe there's been someone by your side all along, just completely under the radar.” Hendrick's tone finally faltered, even releasing Mirabelle from his embrace. It seemed as though Danielle could no longer hold back, saying, “Regarding this matter, we haven't had a discussion yet. How about we talk it over first?” Hendrick quickly regained his composure, pulling Mirabelle to leave as if intending to clear up some space for others. As soon as the door closed behind them, Danielle pushed Maverick away. “Have you lost your mind? What are you babbling about?” A wave of daze washed over Maverick, then suddenly, with a serious gaze, he turned to Danielle. “Danielle, let's be together.” “What?” “I said, let's be together. If Mirabelle becomes the supporting actress, I will propose to you, officially announcing it to the world.” “Wait a minute, are you doing this just to spite Mirabelle? Could it be that you're still not over...”“I can't let go, but it's not love; it's hate. I can never forgive her for the harm she's caused me. I simply want to find happiness before she does, to prove that I'm doing better than her! Dani, you've been with me through the darkest times all these years, always by my side, and I know it. Even though I've never expressed it, you're in my heart. I know that only you can bring me happiness. Let's not waste any more time. Since we're going to transition anyway, we might as well just...” No way, you just kissed Mirabelle and now you're saying things like this? Don't be so ridiculous! Men are full of lies. Alexander, who still with his mouth covered, was speechless. Maverick lifted his hand lifting as if to embrace Danielle. It seemed as if he truly had feelings for her. Maverick made a heartfelt confession. “Dani, I love you.” Danielle pushed Maverick away. “Are you serious? You like me?” Maverick nodded resolutely. “I know you're a professional manager, and you're worried about ruining me. But I'm not afraid. I'm willing to face it all with you.” Danielle eyed him suspiciously for a long while before finally saying, “You're drunk. Go home and sober up. As for proposing, don't even think about it. Regarding the stage, I'll figure out a way to negotiate.” She remained as composed as ever as his manager.
