Her Mind Is Full of Juicy Gossip
Ethan immediately saw through the threat, let alone everyone else. “Heh, Sasha, how many times have you said that, only to end up constantly yearning for me? You slept with me when you were his girlfriend. You did it again after you agreed to his proposal, and now, even when you're about to say your vows to him and with so many friends and family outside waiting to witness the start of your marriage, you still came to see me.” Sasha sobbed, “No, it isn't like that. I told you I don't want to, but you insist—” “Stop deceiving everyone, including yourself. You used to use this as an excuse, but what about now? Roland knows everything. If you were unwilling to do this and cried out, he would have come to rescue you. But didn't you willingly cooperate with me? You... you're just despicable by nature and can't do without me. You can't bring yourself to leave me, so you need to do as I say, understand?” Sasha sobbed, “No, it's not like that...” Despite her protests, no one would believe this habitual offender anymore. In the end, it seemed like the crying had become too bothersome. All that could be heard from the speaker was the distinct sound of a slap. “Shut up,” Ethan reprimanded. Sasha became quiet. Upon hearing this, everyone couldn't help but wonder how someone like that could exist. Sasha was still hopelessly in love with the man who hit her. Moreover, she rejected someone as good as Roland. Is she perhaps, a masochist? Shortly after, the sound of a door opening echoed, it seemed as if someone had come out. Due to how intent they were listening to the conversation and how shocking the revelations were, everyone had no time to digest what was going on, let alone catch the cheaters in the act. Coming back to their senses, they realized it wasn't their place to take action, especially since the host hadn't made a move. So, they decided to sit back and watch the ensuing drama. However, what intrigued everyone more was whether Sasha would actually have the audacity to show up for the wedding ceremony with Roland. With a stern expression, Roland found himself unable to tolerate Ethan's departure, especially now when matters had escalated to this point. He was about to search for help when he heard Alexander inform him of the location. Roland didn't overthink why Alexander knew the location; he simply dashed off without any hesitation. Following closely behind Roland was actually Stephanie. Owen, having gathered his wits, stumbled after them. Among the guests, Alexander and the Quirk family were the quickest to react. After all, they had honed their skills as busybodies, knowing that to truly enjoy the drama, one had to secure the best seat. Watching the excited expressions of the Quirk family, it was clear that they were thoroughly enjoying the spectacle. Relatives and friends who were close to Roland immediately swarmed forward. When the other guests regained their senses, they left the ballroom in quick succession. Some clever ones even took a detour from outside, essentially joining the commotion from all directions. Everyone was filled with excitement. As they approached the lounge connected to the restroom, the entire group came to a halt. Ethan had already arrived at the lounge. He was just about to sit down and call Stephanie. Upon seeing Ethan, Stephanie felt a surge of rage from within, completely losing her typically aloof demeanor. Although she had been insulted, she refused to let a worthless man strip her of her dignity. She wanted to break up gracefully, without giving others the satisfaction of seeing her humiliated. However, the resentment from being manipulated by her first love was still so strong, that the moment she saw him, she lost control and, like a madwoman, she rushed up to confront him. Yet, having never raised her voice so vehemently before, she was completely unaccustomed to it. She even managed to trip over her own high heels, a blunder that would intensify her misery had she actually fallen. However, the very next moment, a strong, sturdy arm scooped her up around her waist. Thankfully, Roland had the sharp reflexes of a policeman. Otherwise, given how they were bumbling together, he wouldn't have managed to save her from the fall. And just like that, it seemed as if sense had been knocked back into Stephanie. Upon hearing the commotion, Ethan turned his head only to find Roland pulling Stephanie toward him. The two of them were standing so close that for a moment, they didn't notice anyone else. Ethan immediately stood up, questioning, “Stephie, how did you end up with Roland?” When the others who had followed heard this, an eerie silence fell over them. Though Ethan's question should have been reasonable, it sounded absurd when he asked it. Stephanie was taken aback, lifting her crimson eyes. She held back her tears, a mix of defiance and hurt in her gaze as she glared at Ethan. Immediately, Ethan grew anxious and stepped forward, asking, “Roland, what have you been telling Stephie?” Isabella thought, Oh, he's worried that Roland would spill the beans about his past to Stephanie. No wonder he is on edge, fearing it would ruin his chances with Stephanie. When Alexander heard the inner thoughts of Isabella, he couldn't help but look around. As a result, near the restroom, in the shadows of the plants along the corridor, he spotted Isabella, who was excitedly watching the scene unfold.Leaving Roland's side, Alexander slowly moved toward his wife. Upon seeing him approach, Isabella broke into a vibrant smile. She whispered, “You heard it, didn't you?” Alexander nodded. Isabella became even more delighted, pointing toward the restroom. “The other one hasn't come out yet. I can't wait to see the look on her face when she discovers everything. It's going to be quite a spectacle, hehe.” A smile tugged at the corners of Alexander's lips as well. Facing Ethan's interrogation, Roland felt his throat go raw out of anger. Yet, he responded with a strangely eerie smile, “I didn't say much. On the contrary, you've been quite talkative.” “Huh?” Ethan didn't catch on immediately. But suddenly, he realized that there were many people standing behind the corridor. Why have so many people gathered here? Moreover, why are they all giving me such a strange look? It seemed as if everyone was staring at him with intense fervor, their gazes unwavering. The attention he was receiving now was even more exaggerated than when his bullying incident had been exposed before. As he swept his gaze over the onlookers, he noticed quite a few people were looking at him with murderous intent. Before he could even react, a figure flashed in front of him, delivering a harsh slap. When Ethan incredulously looked up at Stephanie, the one who had hit him, he was met with another slap from her backhand this time. “We're done,” Stephanie declared emphatically. As she finished, her face gradually became void of any emotion. She then looked at Ethan as if he were nothing more than trash, indicating to everyone that in her eyes, he was now an insignificant person, someone she didn't care about anymore. Isabella felt a sense of regret. Although this approach had saved her pride and spared her any embarrassment, she couldn't help but think that two slaps were far too few. “Stephanie's youth is worth more than just two slaps,” Isabella murmured. “Don't worry. There's still Roland,” Alexander said. After Ethan publicly slapped and dumped, he was instantly filled with rage. He was on the verge of revealing his true nature and lashing out at Stephanie managed to suppress it. He reached out, attempting to grab Stephanie's arm. “Stephie, you can't make such a decision based on Roland's one-sided story. I...” However, before he could even touch Stephanie, Roland suddenly lifted his leg and kicked Ethan with all his might. With just one kick, Ethan was almost sent flying through the air. When he hit the ground with a thud, he almost couldn't catch his breath, ending up in a fit of heavy coughing. Isabella thought, “D*mn, that kick has caused him to bleed internally.” The impact was even more severe than the beating earlier, leaving Ethan completely dazed from the pain. However, he sensed that something was amiss. It was at that moment, a cry of surprise was heard. Everyone turned their heads, only to see Sasha, clad in her nightgown, finally emerging from the bathroom. It was clear she had tidied herself up. However, upon seeing another violent scene unfolding in the lounge, she instinctively gasped. In her state of confusion, she failed to notice anything unusual, and her subconscious desire was still to stop Roland. “Roland.” She looked pitiful as usual, as if she had been crying. For the first time, Roland found this pitiful demeanor utterly repulsive. Suddenly, Roland asked, “What are you doing here?” Only then did Sasha realize her irrational behavior, but she could only hurriedly explain, “There seems to be a problem with the upstairs bathroom, so I came down to use this one. Is it almost time? I'll go change my clothes right away.” With an ambiguous smile, Roland looked straight at Sasha. “You're still planning to marry me?” Baffled, Sasha felt a pang of guilt under Roland's gaze. After a moment of confusion, as if hurt by Roland's words, she fell silent again. Lowering her head, she helplessly called out Roland's name. Roland closed his eyes, seemingly unable to continue speaking. At last, a voice echoed. “I suppose Roland should be grateful to you. Even though you loved someone else, you still agreed to marry him. Sasha, I've been meaning to ask you, what grudge do you hold against Roland that you treat him this way? Even if he shouldn't have saved you back in high school and him rescuing you was against your wishes, is this your way of getting back at him? Haven't the years of emotional manipulation been enough? Must you insist on ruining my son's life?” Everyone turned toward the source of the voice. It came from none other than Daphne, who was standing on the stairs near Isabella. “Honey, all of this...” Owen suddenly realized what was happening. Yet, Daphne never spared him another glance. She simply walked down and approached Sasha, who was trembling and visibly startled. Without a word, she slapped the latter. Sasha fell weakly to the ground, covering her face where she had been struck. “Mom...” “Don't call me mom, you disgusting b*tch.” After speaking, Daphne promptly pushed open the bathroom door and picked up the hidden microphone. In front of an increasingly pale Sasha and a frozen Ethan, she forcefully slammed down the microphone.A grating noise echoed from the main hall in the distance, some of which could be heard from their end as well. At that moment, both Sasha and Ethan understood everything. There was no longer any confusion. In an instant, both of them felt as if they had plunged into an abyss of despair, their bodies trembling uncontrollably.
