My Best Friend’s Brother Was Never Supposed to Taste Me

Chapter 371

♡ Mia's pov ♡ My teeth sank harshly into the bread, tomatoes, lettuce and what the hell was that? Was that ham? I thought I asked the lunch lady for bacon? "Woah chill babe, you're murdering the sandwich," Colby chuckled, passing me a napkin to wipe the stupid mayonnaise that dripped down the corner of my mouth. I ignore him and keep my furious glaring eyes at the center table in the middle of the cafeteria. Well on a blue eyed devil to be more precise. I chewed the bacon- I mean ham sandwich furiously. Swallowing I go for another bite. "Seriously the way you're murdering that sandwich might be a huge turn-on for one of those sinister fuckers in thriller movies," Colby snorted while chewing on a potato wedge. "Colby shut the fuck up," I huffed while not sparing him a glance but keeping my gaze on Kade's face. I hope he chokes on those fries. And I hope Brianna's nails scratch his skin with the way she's touching him. I wished her extensions would rip out from her ginger hair as she playfully twirls the luscious strands. Brianna was the head cheerleader of Hellcats, our supposedly cheerleading team, and was also our class president. There was little Brianna Gomez couldn't do. She was the epitome of perfection. And she was a girl who got everything she wants. Seeing her nearly on top of Kade's thigh gave the huge indication that she wanted him. My fingers push into the bread until I could feel the tomato and lettuce. "Okay something is definitely off-" Colby cuts his own sentence as he whirls around and murmurs out an. "oh." Turning back to me his brow lifts. "Are you jealous that Kade got to sit with the populars and seems to be friends with Brian? I know you've tried for years to get that guy's attention but honestly, you should've seen this coming. I mean have you seen Kade?" Brian was Brianna's twin brother who was the captain of the football team. He was also pretty attractive and had been one of my biggest crushes. But right now his features seem to be dull compared to Kade's. And if I was being totally honest, I hadn't even noticed he was seated by Kade too. My focus only seemed to have been on Kade. And Brianna, who would've been dead if glares could've done damage.I finally remove my eyes from him and focus on Colby. "It barely takes him an entire day and he's already one of the most popular guys here. He's here having Brianna rub all over him and acting like I don't even exist. What a dick." Colby's eyes turn to one of confusion. "So you're not mad that he got Brian's attention and you hadn't?" I looked at him confused. "No this isn't about Brian. I don't care about Brian." I waved a hand nonchalantly while fighting the urge to look over at Kade when I hear Brianna's nasal laugh. Brianna wasn't a bitch but right now I wished she was. It would've been easier to imagine her being run over by a car. Colby's thick brows pull together. "Since when? I thought you said he was your future husband?" I wince. He was right, I did say that and now I was regretting it. What had compelled me to even say such a thing when the guy acted like I never existed? "Since now," I mumbled. Colby's cheeks puffed as he looks at me in disbelief. "Sure," He said blankly before turning back to look over at Kade. "He seems to be fitting in perfectly, isn't he?" I looked over at Kade and he takes this moment to face me. Our eyes clash and my heart thrumps in my ears. "Yeah, he's fitting in just perfect," I frown, removing my eyes off him. __ "So you're saying, you have a guy living in your house. Mere feet apart from your room. Share the same bathroom, eat the same dinner and breakfast. And you don't even have his phone number?" Colby screeched in disbelief. I wince. "Well when you put it that way, it sounds weird...." I drawled out as I looked at the school's entrance for what felt like the twentieth time. Everyone was coming out through those doors and I was yet to see the supposedly hottest boy in school. Apparently, he was already well known and honestly it shouldn't be surprising. "How can you not have his number? What if something goes wrong, or you need him to buy a tampon for you- I turn to Colby and scowled. "Why would I have Kade of all people buy a tampon for me?" "Because that's what brothers do- I narrow my eyes. "Say brother one more time and I'm throwing you out of my car and have you take the bus." I barked. Colby cringes and squirms in the seat. "I forgot how evil you truly can be." He shivered, gulping as he move his eyes away from me. Sighing out a heavy breath, I turn back to look at the school. It had been twenty minutes. Twenty freaking minutes and Kade hasn't shown up. I was now thinking that maybe he has gotten a ride home with his supposedly new friends. I grew angry at the thought of him ditching a ride home with me without even notifying me that he had gotten another ride. But the anger quickly diminishes when finally his rather tall frame walks out of the door. "Oh look Mr. Hot and moody has finally graced us with his presence," Colby started before turning to me. "How much are you betting that he was probably busy sucking some girl's face? Or maybe sucking something more?" He wiggles his brow in a suggesting motion. Bile rose in my throat. The disgusting green monster had reared its ugly head and it took a lot to push her down. "Don't be gross Colby," I hissed. My eyes remain on Kade's figure as I searched to see if there was any indication that he was doing exactly what Colby suggested. My stomach twisted when he was close enough for me to notice the red lipstick mark on his sharp jawbone. I blinked and rip my gaze from his. I tensed when the car door opens and he fixes himself on the seat. Slamming the door close, his scent is still strong enough to choke the air we're breathing in. I rolled down my window while forcing myself to look at him in the rearview mirror. His blue eyes connect with mine and something warm and tingly settles in my belly. But then my eyes fall to the lipstick on his jaw and anger nearly consumes me. " Any explanation on why you had us waiting for you for nearly half an hour? " I grit out. But Kade doesn't answer, only puts on his headphones and throws his head back on the seat while closing his eyes. He was blatantly ignoring me. I huffed in irritation and turned around. He was such an asshole.
