My Best Friend’s Brother Was Never Supposed to Taste Me

Chapter 340

Haiden Cross I felt like a dead man. Maybe I was. Or I would be. I felt numb to the core as I pulled up in the driveway, not wasting time to get out of the truck. I needed a long ass, burning ass shower. Seeing Snake's dead form couldn't exactly be scrubbed out of my brain, especially knowing it was Bella's dad who had done it. How was I to face her again knowing her dad's a murderer? I didn't even know what to tell her if she asked about Snake. I was sure she'd have questions. Especially seeing that I was unscathed. Fuck. Walking towards the door all I could think about is how she was slipping out of my fingertips. I didn't want to lose her, but it didn't seem as if it would be my choice. Was the universe conspiring against us? Closing the door behind me, I wasn't so surprised to see Christian on the last step. His shoulders were slouched and he seemed to be lost in his phone. It was like a routine for him to wait up for me. I didn't quite understand why he was trying so hard to get close to me. Hearing the sound of the slamming door, Christian lifts his gaze from the phone in his hand and fixed them on me. I'm confused at seeing how red his eyes seem from here but I made sure not to allow that emotion on my face. I had my own fucking problems I didn't want someone else's. So ignoring him like I usually did, I started walking towards the staircase. Only to get blocked by Christian who stood up and took a step in my way. "You're a bastard." He says lowly as if not quite sure that's the word he wanted to use. Taking a step back from the anger I sensed I flick my eyes to his face. He seems angry, tensed, and hurt. If some bitch hurt him, why the fuck did he want to pass his anger on me? Like I said I didn't want anyone's problems tonight. "The fuck you just say?" I lift a brow and tilt my head to watch him with a steeling glare. Christian really chose the wrong night to upset me. If he doesn't be careful with his tongue, I couldn't promise him I wouldn't let my frustrations out on him.Straightening as if trying to act intimidating, he growers at me. Standing on the last step really didn't add much to his height. He'd have to try a little harder than that if he'd want to intimidate me. "I said you're a fucking bastard." He snarls. Staying composed I asked dryly. "Really? Mind elaborating on that Christian?" I really didn't have time for this. I just wanted a moment alone to think of what I'll do to prevent Bella from slipping from my fingers. "That night I told you about her. You went to that party, didn't you? You went for her?" He grits, fist poised at his sides. What the fuck was he on about? You couldn't blame me for being a little slow. I mean I just witnessed a murder. Found out my girlfriend's dad was a drug boss. And got warned to stay away from her. So you could say my mind wasn't really there at the moment. "Is that Haiden?" I heard Charlotte screech from the living room. I rolled my eyes. I couldn't deal with her voice tonight too. "Dude, get out of my way," I warned, frustrated that he was preventing me from being alone right now. "Is that Haiden Christian?" Charlotte's voice is a little closer now. Gritting my teeth I shot Christian a deathly stare. "Get the fuck out of my way." "You purposely went after her even though you knew I liked her! You screwed her behind my back! You took her from me, you bastard!" Christian roars. "What the fuck are you on about you piece of shit?! Who did I take from you!?" I snarled, furious and quite untameable at this point. God will have to forgive me if I shut Christian up with my fist. "Ella! You took Arabella from me even though you knew I had feelings for her you asshole!" "The neighbor girl?" Charlotte asked in shock, clearly eavesdropping and clearly having the wrong timing since as soon as the words are out of her mouth, the feeling of knuckles slamming unto my jawbone made me stagger. Holding my jaw, I looked at Christian in shock, not expecting a guy like him to hit so hard. Then again my jaw was already bruised. "You sleek bastard, going after the girl I loved behind my back!" Christian roared coming towards me with fist flying. I made sure to avoid this one."Christian! Haiden!" Charlotte gasped in shock. Glaring down at the fucker I hissed. "Are you fucking out of your mind? Bella was never yours to begin with. I never took her from you because she was never yours!" "You don't deserve her! She deserves someone better, someone like me! I'm good for her, not a fuck up like you!" He snarled with hatred. I was so fucking tired of everyone thinking I was bad for Bella. I was so tired of them reminding me that I was a fuck up. So tired, that when I threw the punch to Christian's face and undoubtedly breaking his jaw, all I felt was satisfaction. Bella wasn't an object or someone's property. But I marked her in every way I could and that was something that couldn't be erased easily. She was fucking mine and no one else's. She was my future. Not his. "Haiden!"Charlotte screamed in pure horror as Christian and I fought like we were fighting for our lives. I was, I was fighting for mine, and Bella was my life. I was fighting for her. Christian grunts when I slam him into the wall and slam my fist in his gut. He gasped, pushing me away. "I'm going to kill you!" Christian roared sparing me into the table that collapse under our weight. "You aren't the first to try mother fucker! And you wouldn't be the first to live up to it." I snarled, snapping my head a side as I avoid his fist. "My table!" Charlotte screamed in terror. Who places a table beside the door anyway? "You two stop it! Stop it!" She yelled in fright when I turned Christian and I over until I was the one on top. My stomach protested but I dare not take it on as I make the fucker eat my fist. "Haiden!" A familiar gasp coming from the doorway made me stop my actions completely. Not expecting her to come here, or see me like this. "You! You're the one who caused this! Stay away from my boys!" Charlotte screeched so loudly that my ear began to ring.
