The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 728 What's Going On?

Yura's POV: "Alright now, don't cry," Ryan whispered as he gently rubbed my shoulder, his voice soft and reassuring. "You're carrying a child; remember what the doctor said. You need to stay calm for the baby's sake." I gave a small nod, trying to pull myself together, but no matter how hard I tried, the tears wouldn't stop falling. Mom was taken into the ICU, and because of my condition, I had no choice but to return to my own hospital room. I lay there, staring blankly at the ceiling, my mind swirling with everything that had unfolded today. If I had known this would happen, I never would've argued with her earlier. But regrets came too late. Now, she was unconscious in a hospital bed. I had no idea if or when she would open her eyes again. Or worse ... what if she never did? The thought twisted in my chest like a knife. Eventually, I picked up my phone, scrolled through my contacts, and ended up dialing Rosaline. "Hello?" Her familiar voice came through the line, and I couldn't hold back my tears any longer. I started sobbing. "Yura, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" Rosaline's anxious voice came through the phone. "Did Ryan do something to upset you?" "No ... " I sniffled, my voice choked with tears. "My mom's sick. The doctor said she might end up in a coma." "How did this happen?" Rosaline sounded shocked. "It's all my fault. I shouldn't have made her worry." "Don't be upset. Hold on, I'll be right there." Rosaline's POV: I quickly bought a plane ticket and flew to Caffield. When I arrived at the hospital and walked in, I saw Yura still sobbing. I hurried over and placed a hand on her shoulder, trying to reassure her. "Try not to worry. Maybe the doctor was wrong. Mrs. Nadine tough. She's going to pull through." Yura gave a small nod, but after a moment, the tears returned, slipping down her cheeks despite her efforts to hold them back. "If you need to cry, don't hold it in. Letting it out might help a little," I murmured and pulled her into a gentle hug. "We'll get through this. I promise." She looked up at me, eyes filled with fragile hope. "But how?" "Don't forget who I am." I smiled confidently. Her eyes instantly lit up. She finally remembered my medical skills and my teacher, the wonder doctor Hughie Watts. Yura wiped away her tears and immediately led me to her mother's hospital room. The space was unnervingly still, broken only by the rhythmic drip of the IV. "Are you sure you can really help?" Yura asked, her voice full of worry. "Just trust me." I pulled up a chair beside Celia, gently opened her eyelids, then took her hand and carefully checked her pulse, assessing her condition with full focus. Yura stood off to the side and did not dare to interrupt. After a few minutes, I let go of Celia's arm and looked back at Yura. "It's a complicated case, but there's still hope. If I use the witch's stone, I can dissolve the blood blockage. She's going to be okay." Relief washed over Yura's face, and a smile broke through the sadness in her eyes. I always kept the witch's stone with me, so I asked Yura to wait outside and make sure no one came in. Once she stepped out, I gently placed the stone on Celia's chest and began to recite an incantation under my breath. As the chant filled the room, the stone started to emit a faint glow. Soon, reddish markings surfaced on Celia's skin, concentrating over her chest before slowly absorbing into the stone itself.Seeing signs that it was working, I continued the chant with steady focus. Suddenly, Celia's fingers twitched, and a soft moan escaped her lips. Yura burst through the door when she heard it. When she saw color returning to her mother's face, she broke into a relieved, overjoyed smile. "The stone and the chant are helping," I told her gently, giving her shoulder a reassuring pat. "But it's going to take time. Don't worry. Your mom will wake up." Hearing that her mom would wake up, Yura threw her arms around me in excitement. "Thank you! I'm so lucky to have a friend like you." Her words made me blush a little, and I responded, "Alright, the doctor said you can't get too emotional. Focus on taking care of yourself and the baby." "Okay, I'll listen to you." Yura nodded obediently. I patted her shoulder, then turned to see Ryan, who had been waiting quietly nearby. "Come here," I said with a hint of amusement, motioning for him to come closer. Ryan walked over slowly, like a child caught in trouble, his head hanging low. I cleared my throat and shifted my tone to one of seriousness. "You have a wonderful fiancée in Yura, and yet you don't value her. Then there are all those rumors about you and Kristy. No wonder Mrs. Nadine collapsed from anger." Ryan kept his gaze downward while silently taking in my reprimands. "On top of that, Yura's pregnant. With Mrs. Nadine in critical condition, if something happened to Yura, you'd regret it for the rest of your life. So, what are you going to do about all this?" Ryan quickly responded, his voice filled with regret. "I know I made a mistake. I shouldn't have hurt Yura or caused Mrs. Nadine to collapse. It's all my fault. I'm truly sorry." His voice grew quieter and quieter, but I could hear the guilt in every word. "I saw the photos on Twitter. What's your explanation?"
