The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 706 A Heart on the Edge

Yura's POV: "Yura, what's wrong?" Seeing me like this, Rosaline grew even more worried and didn't want to leave. "It's nothing," I said, but just thinking about that call from Kristy made my chest feel unbearably tight. Still, I didn't want to show it in front of Rosaline. I didn't want her to worry about me. "Rosie, if you've got stuff to do, go ahead. I'm really fine," I said, pressing my lips together and taking a deep breath. Even so, Rosaline was clearly uneasy. Before she left, she reminded Ryan repeatedly to take good care of me. "Don't worry, Rosaline. I'll look after Yura properly," Ryan promised repeatedly. "All right, I'll come visit again in a few days. Yura, make sure you get plenty of rest." Rosaline nodded and finally turned to leave. Watching her walk away, I felt a deep sense of loss. Rosaline and Caden finally have a happy ending and a beautiful future together. And me? My life was a complete mess. First, my long relationship with Timothy had ended with nothing but regrets. Then, somehow, one reckless night with Ryan left me pregnant. It had taken me so long to bury my feelings for Timothy deep in my heart, to slowly start accepting Ryan and even imagine a future together. But now? Ryan was fooling around behind my back, tangled up with Kristy. What hurt even more was that Kristy dared to call me and gloat. How could I not feel suffocated? Seeing the gloom written all over my face, Ryan asked worriedly, "Yura, what's wrong? Are you upset about something? If there's something on your mind, let me know. Don't bottle it up. It's not good for your health or the baby." I finally decided not to keep this inside anymore. I looked him straight in the eye and asked, "What exactly is going on between you and Kristy?" "There's nothing between us!" Ryan said, his voice faltering a little. "I told you before, I only think of her like a family." "A family?" I gave a cold laugh. That guilty flicker in his eyes didn't escape me. Clearly, he knew perfectly well what he had done last night. Staring at him, I suddenly felt like I was living a joke. "Enough. Stop overthinking it." Ryan tried to brush it off, reaching out to pull me into his arms. "I took the day off to stay with you." I shoved him away harshly. "Go stay with Kristy instead!" I snapped. My voice was loud enough that Zera, who was outside, immediately pushed the door open and came in, frowning. "What's going on with you two?" she demanded. "Mom, what are you doing here? We're fine," Ryan said hurriedly. "Fine?" Zera snorted in disbelief. "If everything's fine, why are you two yelling so loudly? I heard you from outside!" Then she glanced at me, her gaze sharp. "I heard you mention Kristy just now. Listen, Yura, Kristy is a good girl. You better not talk bad about her behind her back." I was speechless. Seriously? Kristy was throwing herself at Ryan, calling to provoke me, and somehow, I was the one at fault. How could the Luna of the Storm Pack be entirely out of her mind? Zera had always disliked me. If it weren't for the fact that I was carrying Ryan's child, she probably would've kicked me out of Storm Pack long ago. Feeling utterly suffocated, I muttered, "I'm going for a walk." Without waiting for a response, I walked straight out of the room. "Yura." Ryan tried to chase after me, but Zera grabbed him by the arm. "She's completely out of line! She's always throwing a tantrum—who does she think she's giving that attitude to?" I could hear Zera grumbling furiously behind me, but I didn't stop. I just kept walking until I made it onto the street. I wandered aimlessly, one hand protectively cradling my belly, feeling utterly lost. Was keeping this child the right choice? If I had ended the pregnancy and left, I would probably be in Phoshire, working on something I loved, helping Rosaline manage the Loe Studio. But instead, here I was, stuck in Storm Pack, taking blow after blow every day. I didn't want to live like this anymore. Not even one more day. And yet, I didn't know where else to go. While I was drowning in frustration, my phone suddenly rang. It was a number I didn't recognize. I hesitated for a moment before answering. "Hello? Who's this?" On the other end, there was only silence. My heart clenched painfully in my chest. A strange, familiar feeling stirred inside me. "Timothy, is that you?" I asked, my voice trembling. Still, there was no answer. Only silence. I didn't know how long I stood until my phone died. I listlessly lowered my hand, putting the phone away. But deep down, I knew that call must have been from Timothy. Where was he now? Had his leg healed completely? Was he doing okay?
