The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 704 Kristy's Setup

When we arrived at the hotel, I carefully laid Ryan down on the bed. I softly called his name, trying to see if he was still conscious. He mumbled something in response, his mouth barely moving. I leaned in closer to catch what he was saying. To my fury, I heard him whispering Yura's name. Rage flared up inside me. Even now, at a time like this, he was still thinking about that woman! Jealousy burned in my chest. I sat stiffly on the edge of the bed, clenching my fists tightly. Ultimately, I steeled myself, grabbed my collar, and pulled off my clothes. Then, I stripped Ryan as well and slipped under the covers beside him. I reached out and began touching him, kissing his lips gently at first, trying to arouse him. But no matter how much I teased him—licking, kissing, coaxing—Ryan was completely unresponsively dead drunk. No reaction at all. Frustrated, I had no choice but to pull out my phone and start taking a bunch of fake intimate selfies with him, making it look like we'd slept together. Exhausted afterward, I finally nestled into his arms and fell asleep too. Ryan's POV: When I woke up, it felt like my skull was about to split open. The shrill ringing of a phone filled the room, drilling into my pounding head. I squinted, frowning, and reached out blindly for the phone, but someone else beat me to it. A soft, unfamiliar hand grabbed it first. Then, I heard a woman's voice. "Hello? What is it?" I couldn't hear what was said on the other end, but the call was hung up after a few seconds of silence. Something immediately felt wrong. I forced my eyes open.Turning my head, I saw Kristy. And to my horror, we were both completely naked under the covers. I yanked the blanket up to cover myself, glaring at her. "What are you doing here?! What the hell happened last night?" Kristy sat up, looking drowsy and confused at first. But then, like a switch flipped, her expression shifted, and she suddenly burst into tears, covering her face. "You were so drunk last night," she sobbed, "I was trying to take you home, but you said you were going to throw up. I couldn't let you ruin the driver's car, so I brought you to the nearest hotel. But then ... you grabbed me and dragged me onto the bed ... " She trailed off, not finishing the sentence but I could guess the rest. I wracked my brain, trying to recall any memory of the night before but there was nothing. Just a blur of getting drunk and collapsing at the table. After that, complete darkness. Watching her cry like that so pitifully made it impossible to figure out if she was lying. "You couldn't have pushed me away?!" I demanded, feeling a deep, gnawing guilt toward Yura. "You knew about Yura, you knew—" I choked on my words, unable to finish. Yura was pregnant. If she found out about this, it would crush her. Kristy slowly stopped crying and looked up at me, her face full of wronged innocence. "I know ... I know Yura's carrying your child," she said in a small voice. "I know how much this would hurt her. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone what happened. Let's just pretend it never happened. After all, you don't even like me. Even if something happened between us, it doesn't mean anything." Her words only made me feel worse. I didn't know what to say so I said nothing. I got dressed in silence and left the hotel without another word. Kristy's POV: Watching Ryan leave, I wiped away my fake tears and let a triumphant smile spread across my face. He had no idea that 10 minutes ago Yura had already called. I couldn't hide my excitement when the call came in, asking why Ryan hadn't come home all night. I answered in a deliberately tired voice, still dripping with smugness. "Ms. Nadine, Ryan was exhausted last night and passed out. If you need anything, you can tell me." Yura was clearly stunned into silence. It took a moment before she managed to stammer out. "Ms. Heart ... are you saying ... you're with Ryan right now?" I dragged out my reply lazily, pretending to be sleepy "Mmm ... " Just as I spoke, Ryan stirred beside me and let out a soft grunt—perfecttiming. I quickly moved the phone closer to him, letting Yura hear his breathing. He even mumbled again, giving me more ammunition. I sat up slowly, whispering into the phone. "You heard him, right? Ryan drank a lot at the wrap party. He's been with me all night, and I've cared for him. If there's nothing urgent, I'm going to hang up now. I'll tell him you called once he wakes up." After I hung up, it wasn't long before Ryan woke up completely clueless about what had already happened. Now, all I had to do was sit back and wait for Yura and Ryan to fight. After all, what woman could tolerate her man spending the night with someone else in a hotel room? Plus, I had arranged for reporters from the werewolf community to lurk nearby outside the hotel, just ready to snap photos of us leaving one after the other. Once those pictures hit the headlines, Yura could not deny what had happened. Ryan would be mine. He had to be mine. Two minutes after Ryan left the hotel, I 'appeared' in the lobby, acting suspicious, glancing around nervously, and pulling my hat down low as I slipped out. A few moments later, my phone buzzed with a text message. "Ms. Heart, everything's done." I grinned in satisfaction, tucked the phone into my pocket, and disappeared into the streets, climbing into a waiting car.
