The familiar scent filled my nose. As I looked up, I saw Caden's jaw. "Caden," I said as I smiled to him. However, Caden's gaze was not fixed on me, but on Joel. "It's been a while, Mr. Holbrook." Joel smiled at Caden before he waved at me. He said, "Don't forget about our small promises, Rosie." Joel winked at me before walking away. I shook my head and frowned. As expected, while holding me from behind, Caden's body immediately stiffened and exuded a chilling aura. "Here comes the jealous king!" Freya laughed and teased me. Feeling helpless, I turned around in Caden's arm and wrapped my arms around his waist. "What agreement? Hmm?" Caden squinted his eyes and sounded dangerous. "You know Joel's personality. He's just joking around." I smiled as I explained. "Why should I care what he's like?" Caden's tightened his arm and said in a cold tone. Seeing him acting this way, I couldn't help but smirked. I took a step forward and leaned to him ,"Why are you so jealous? It's not like you." Caden didn't respond and just stared at me in silence. I tiptoed to kiss Caden, then purposedly made an exaggerated expression before saying, "You're jealous, Caden." I was teasing him but when my eyes met with Caden's, he lowered his head and started kissing to silence me. It wasn't until much later that he finally let me go. He still didn't say anything, just stared at me with that burning, affectionate gaze of his. His gaze made my cheeks flush instantly. Even though we'd been together for a long time and had done far more intimate things, kissing him like this at the office still made me feel a little shy. Sensing the stares from the other werewolves around us, I lightly patted his chest in embarrassment. He seemed to enjoy my little act of coyness and wrapped his arms even tighter around my waist. "I thought we were going out to eat?" I stepped back a little, afraid that he'd kiss me again in front of everyone. Caden's brow twitched slightly. He still looked a bit jealous. I couldn't help but chuckled at him. The esteemed Mr. Holbrook was still hung up on Joel's actions just now. "He showed up at my company out of nowhere today and I turned him down. I think that little actions of his just now was because he saw you," I explained while adjustng his tie. "From now on, stay away from him," he said, but at least his expression had softened. "Alright, got it. Let's go." I took his hand and led him outside. He'd already booked a restaurant for us, and we took the same car there. On the way, I remembered what had happened earlier in the afternoon and said, "I ran into Connor today. He's the illegitimate child from the Rampage Pack that you caught before." At the mention of his name, Caden's eyes flickered slightly. "Where did you see him?" he asked. As if he suddenly remembered something, he continued, "What did he say to you?" I decided to tell him everything that had happened. "I think Connor is not to be underestimated," I said seriously. Starplay Entertainment was a company I'd built from the ground up. Over the years, it had become a major player in the entertainment industry. Connor's newly founded Haroldene Entertainment was just getting started, and yet he dared to challenge me directly. Either he was insane, or he had someone powerful and influential backing him. From the way he carried himself, I had a feeling it might be both. "If that's the case, we're probably going to be seeing him a lot," I said helplessly. "If he ever tries to meet you again, you have to let me know no matter what," he said, eyes staring at me. "Got it." I nodded.Clearly, success attracted unwanted attention. Ever since I started revealing my identity, troubles had been coming one after another. After dinner, we returned to the villa. Just as we stepped inside, a playful impulse hit me. I kicked off my heels and leapt onto Caden's back. "I'm tired. Carry me upstairs," I said, nuzzling into his neck like a spoiled child. Naturally, Caden obliged. He adjusted his posture and steadily carried me toward the bedroom. He usually carried me in his arms, so being on his back for once felt kind of new. As I leaned close to his ear, I suddenly noticed something. There was a small hole on his ear. Feeling curious, I asked, "Caden, you have an ear piercing?" When I finished talking, I could feel his body stiffen for a moment. As if I'd just discovered a hidden treasure, I gently played with his earlobe. That's when I realized the piercing wasn't on the earlobe, but on his ear cartilage. Caden looked slightly taken aback before letting out a sigh. "This was an accident."
