The Despised Luna's Comeback
I pinched the bridge of my nose, unsure what to say anymore. Joel seemed amused by my silence. His smile deepened as he leaned a little closer. "Do you like the view here?" I didn't respond, but Joel didn't mind. He kept talking on his own. "Back in my homeland, the scenery is a thousand times better than this. If you marry me, you can see it every day. What do you think? Tempted yet?" As he spoke, he even turned to wink at me, his ocean-blue eyes brimming with affection. "Joel, please stop doing this," I said softly. "Then tell me what you do like. I can be anything you want me to be, as long as you say it." Joel rested his chin on his hand, giving me a gentle smile. "Come to the shallow seas with me tomorrow. The coral there is absolutely breathtaking." Caden's POV: I changed into my clothes and walked out, only to see Joel getting all cozy with Rosaline. My brows furrowed tightly. Whydid he showuphere, ofallplaces? "Mister, is that your girlfriend? Why is she being so intimate with the person next to her?" The werewolf waitress, who had just been scolded by Rosaline, was standing next to me, reminding me about Rosaline and Joel being together. Sensing my silence, she continued to feign innocence. "Your girlfriend has such a pretty smile. I thought she had a bad temper earlier." I grabbed her by the neck, exuding a chilling aura. "If you want to stay alive, don't show up in front of me again. Understand?" I had already lost patience with this noisy werewolf waitress. Did she really think I didn't see through her intentions? I'd encountered too many scheming women in my life. The werewolf waitress's eyes filled with terror. She frantically nodded, her face flushing red. I gave a cold snort and released my grip. Without sparing her another glance, I walked toward Rosaline and Joel. Rosaline's POV: Joel's face inched closer to mine, his expression full of devotion as he earnestly asked, "You really won't consider it? Marry me, Rosaline." I sighed, feeling somewhat helpless and irritated. Just as I was about to speak, someone wrapped their arm around my shoulders and pulled me into a tight embrace. "She won't consider it." Caden's voice rang coldly from above me. I turned my head and couldn't help but smile. Upon seeing Caden, Joel clicked his tongue lightly. "I was asking Ms. Rosaline's opinion." "She's my fiancée. You'd better stay away from her." Caden's face darkened to a terrifying degree. Seeing this, Joel shrugged nonchalantly. "Yes, you two are engaged, but you're not married. Legally speaking, Ms. Sinclair is still single, so I have the right to pursue her." As he spoke, Joel flashed Rosaline a flirtatious smile, adding, "I'm always here. If you've made up your mind, just let me know, my dear princess." He looked up, his eyes locking with Caden's in the air, and the silent tension between them was palpable. I opened my mouth but found myself at a loss for words. Maybe I should praise Joel for his unyielding persistence, but after thinking for a moment, I decided to tell him the truth. "Joel, my wolf and I have already bonded with Caden's, and we've recognized each other as destined mates, you ... " Before I could finish, all three of us felt the cruise ship tremble beneath us. I steadied myself in Caden's arms and then heard someone shout nearby, "What is that?!" Everyone turned their attention to the outside, and I vaguely saw something in the distance. At that moment, the sky darkened rapidly, and the wind picked up over the sea. I blinked, and the sound of distant thunder filled my ears. It was a tornado! I suddenly realized why the weather had turned gloomy in the afternoon and the clouds had been so heavy. For a moment, I regretted not checking the weather forecast before heading out. How unlucky—I had actually predicted it. The moment we set sail, an accident occurred. Just then, the ship's broadcast rang out, urging everyone to take shelter on the lower deck.We didn't waste time and quickly rushed into the cabin. A crowd of werewolves had already gathered inside, all of them looking anxious. Some had even started complaining out loud. Thunder rumbled outside, and the sound of rain pelting the deck grew steadily louder. I pressed into Caden's arms, silent and tense, worry etched across my face. Caden's expression was just as grim. No one had seen this coming, and with the tornado interfering, all our communication systems were down. There was nothing we could do but wait. The ship began to sway slightly, and the voice from the broadcast system flickered in and out. Every sign pointed to the tornado's imminent arrival. The high-ranking werewolves on board grew restless, their voices rising in panic. "Help! I want out! Let me out!" "Why is this happening to us? Just my luck!" "Am I going to die? What should I do ... " "I don't want to die! I'm still young! I can't die!" Chaos erupted all at once, filling the entire cabin. I gripped Caden's hand tightly, my mind flashing back to the time our plane had crashed and we nearly lost our lives at sea. That memory alone was enough to make me shudder. I just never expected history to repeat itself so soon.
