The Despised Luna's Comeback
Caden stood frozen in place. I huffed, propped myself up slightly, and revealed my pale thigh under the blanket. His expression immediately shifted. His throat tightened as he reached out and pinned me to the bed. "Are you trying to tempt me?" With my head resting against the bed's edge, I extended my arm, pulling Caden closer. I purposely leaned in, whispering in his ear with a soft laugh, "What if I said—" Before I could finish my sentence, Caden pressed me down and kissed me. His lips were unexpectedly gentle but full of possessiveness. He lightly bit my lower lip, as if to punish me. "So bold?" Caden's voice was hoarse as he whispered against my neck "I've always been bold." I placed my finger against Caden's thin lips, signaling for silence, then traced my fingertips along his cheek, moving toward his eyes, feeling the warmth of his skin with each touch. Caden half-closed his eyes, letting me do whatever I wanted, but I skillfully slipped out of his embrace and winked at him. "I'm hungry. Let's eat!" The breakfast Caden made was simple but delicious, restoring much of the energy I'd used up. While I was eating, Caden had already gotten dressed and come downstairs. Seeing me sitting barefoot on the chair, his brows furrowed. Noticing his gaze, I swung my legs, resting my chin on my hand as I looked at him. "There's a carpet on the floor." Caden's gaze moved from my feet up to my long, slender legs. Without giving me a chance to react, he stepped forward, scooped me up, and placed me on the couch. I gasped, my arms instinctively wrapping around his neck. "If you do that again, I promise we'll spend the next month at home." Caden's voice was laced with a hint of warning, and just hearing it made my waist ache. Teasing Caden was fun, but I suddenly realized I might not be able to handle the consequences, so I quickly changed the topic. "Okay, okay, I know I was wrong. Where are we going?" Although Caden and I were only engaged, I still hoped he'd take me out somewhere, like an unofficial honeymoon. "A small island in the Love Sea," Caden answered calmly. At the mention of an island, my eyes lit up. I had been wanting to go on an island vacation for a long time, but I had never had the chance. I couldn't wait any longer, so I rushed back to the room to get ready. "I'll pack our bags. We're leaving soon." Once in the room, I glanced at my phone and saw a bunch of congratulatory messages about our engagement. I quickly replied to a few before starting to pack. The Love Sea was a famous tourist destination. Caden initially planned to take me to a newly developed, private island belonging to the Eclipse Pack. Since this was our date, Caden didn't want anyone else around. But I thought that would be too boring. So, in the end, we decided on another small island. Caden had already arranged the trip with Beta, and after I finished packing, we headed to the airport. With some time left before boarding, Caden was dealing with an urgent company matter, and I started feeling a little bored. I decided to wander around a bit. But as soon as I left the waiting area, someone grabbed the hem of my clothes. "Mommy, where did you go?" A childish voice came from behind me. I turned around to see a young werewolf boy standing there, looking up at me. Realizing his mistake, the little werewolf boy's serious face tightened. "Are you lost and separated from your mom?" I crouched down, gazing at the delicate little werewolf boy, my heart softening a bit. But to my surprise, he shook his head and, with a serious expression, said, "No, it's my mommy who got lost." Seeing the little guy's expression, I couldn't help but laugh. I reached out and pinched his cheek, smiling as I said, "How about I take you to the service desk and help you find your mom?" The little guy thought for a moment and was just about to nod when Caden walked over. He put his arm around me, his gaze lingering on the little guy for a second. "What's wrong?" "This kid can't find his mom. I was just going to take him to the service desk." As I spoke, the little guy seemed to spot something and waved his hand in that direction. I followed his gaze and saw a young female werewolf rushing toward us, reaching out to pick him up. "Why are you running around? I told you to wait in lounge six!" The female werewolf was very beautiful, and it was hard to imagine she was a mother. She was wearing clothes similar to mine in color, which explained why the little guy mistook me earlier. "Mom, our lounge is three, not six. You went to the wrong one again." The little guy replied calmly, as if he were used to this happening. The female wolf blinked in surprise, as if she couldn't believe she had made a mistake. The contrast between her confused expression and the calm little guy in her arms was striking. I stood there, at a loss for words, turning my head away. This was the first time I'd ever seen such an unreliable mother. Noticing my gaze, the female werewolf turned to look at us. "Sorry about that. I'm Madeline Lawler, and this is my son. I apologize for the trouble," Madeline said with an apologetic smile. "Mom, you're the one who caused the trouble," the little guy calmly added. I couldn't help but smile at his response.
