The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 607 Nightmare

Once the thought took hold of me, it spread rapidly through my mind like an uncontrollable wildfire. I pressed my lips together, my mind consumed with worry as I called Rosaline's phone again, but the response was—always the samethe phone was off. A wave of panic rose within me. Without thinking twice, I called my Beta, Yale. "Rosaline's still not home, and I can't get ahold of her. She didn't go to work today either. Find out who she's been with and where she's gone. I want more people out searching for her!" Yale responded quickly, his tone urgent. "Mr. Holbrook, I've got something. Ms. Sinclair was seen with Prince Joel from Fostrau. They went to an eastern forest attraction, but after that, there's no trace of them." "What?!" Fury exploded inside me, and before I could think, I stormed out of the room. I never imagined Rosaline would be with Joel today, and now, she had been gone for so long—still roaming inside the tourist area. There was no time to lose. I ended the call, grabbed a few werewolf bodyguards, and headed out toward the scenic area. The entire trip had me on edge. The place was surrounded by thick, wild forest, and with the rainstorm that had just passed, I couldn't stop worrying about the dangers Rosaline might be facing. Twenty minutes later, I arrived at the entrance of the scenic area, where the manager, visibly anxious, had already opened the gates. The werewolf security team, alongside my bodyguards, rushed in, searching every corner for any sign of Rosaline. "Rosaline! Rosaline!" I called out, desperation creeping into my voice as I pushed deeper into the park. The storm was relentless. The rain soaked through my clothes, and my bodyguards fanned out to search for any trace of Rosaline or Joel. The muddy trails made each step feel uncertain. My fear for Rosaline grew with every passing moment. In a place like this, where the elements were so harsh, the danger was too real to ignore. "Rosaline, where are you? Answer me if you can hear me!" I continued forward, but there was nothing—not even an echo of her voice. Rosaline's POV: After Joel and I finished the two bags of bread, my hunger started to fade.Joel leaned against the cave wall, his eyes drifting upward. After a long pause, he finally spoke. "Rosaline, how long do you think we'll be stuck here?" "I'm not sure ... " I answered, my voice soft and distant. Exhaustion weighed heavily on me after the chaos of the day, but sleep didn't come. The chill in the cave was biting, and in a wild, untamed forest like this, falling asleep could easily lead to catching a cold—or something worse. I let out a slow yawn, my eyelids heavy with fatigue. "At the latest, tomorrow morning, when the park opens again. It's already past closing time, and no one will be looking for us now ... Just hang on. I'll take you out tomorrow and get you to a hospital for those bandages." Naomi's POV: The darkness around me was so thick that I couldn't even see my own hand in front of my face. I stood frozen for a moment, unsure of what to do, before I began walking aimlessly. The cold only seemed to grow more intense with every step. "Is anyone out there?" I whispered, but all I heard was my own voice echoing back at me. Suddenly, I heard footsteps behind me. I spun around, but there was nothing—just the eerie emptiness. Panic surged within me, and I instinctively started backing away, moving further into the unknown. A rustling sound filled the air, sending a chill through my spine. Every nerve in my body screamed at me to run, and I didn't hesitate. I sprinted forward, my breath coming in ragged gasps. "Help! Someone, please!" I cried, my voice trembling with fear. I felt something closing in behind me—something just out of reach, but it was getting closer, almost as if it was about to grab me. Terror gripped me, and I called out again, my voice shaking. Then, strange laughter and whispered voices filled the air, swirling around me. The darkness seemed to swallow me whole, and I screamed, stumbling and falling to the ground. I curled up on the cold, hard earth, feeling the darkness closing in, and tears began to form in my eyes. I gritted my teeth and tried to push myself up, but as I did, I felt chains wrap around my ankle, binding me to the ground. Panic surged again as the same chains tightened around my wrist and neck, choking me. Just when I thought I couldn't bear it any longer, a hand reached down toward me, as if to pull me up.I looked up, dazed, and saw a face that made my blood run cold. Kelsey tilted his head, a twisted smile curling at his lips. "Don't be afraid." "Stay away ... Stay away ... "
