The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 585 Hyping Up Couple Pairing

After reshooting the delayed commercial, I was on my way back to the company in the nanny van when I noticed a small crowd gathering in the lobby of Starplay Entertainment. To my surprise, one of them was the elderly werewolf lady who'd had a heart attack last time. "Ms. Lawrence!" Her eyes lit up the moment she saw me, and she quickly came over with the help of a few relatives. "Ma'am, what are you doing here?" I asked, genuinely surprised. Then I lifted my eyes—and saw Samuel standing right behind her. He smiled at me, leaving me even more confused. "Ms. Lawrence, thank you so much. If it hadn't been for you that day, my mother might not have made it ... " said a younger werewolf next to the elderly lady. He handed me a large bouquet of flowers, repeating his gratitude again and again. I stared blankly at the bouquet that had been stuffed into my arms, still processing everything. Before I could even react, the elderly lady launched into an enthusiastic string of compliments. "I didn't really do much that day. Honestly, the one you should be thanking is Dr. Foster," I said, feeling a bit flustered. It was my first time being caught in a moment like this. "Dr. Foster was the one who brought us here. He told us that if it weren't for your quick response, he wouldn't have been able to save me in time," the elderly lady said, patting the back of my hand with a warm smile. I immediately turned to Samuel. Why was he giving me all the credit? But Samuel acted like he didn't notice my puzzled expression. He added, "That's right, Ma'am. And Ms. Lawrence made the emergency call right away, too—that's how the ambulance arrived so swiftly." "Dr. Foster ... " I had just started to speak when someone suddenly pressed a large plaque trophy into my hands. The bold gold letters across the top—"With Deepest Gratitude for Saving a Life"—made my head spin. I'd never received anything like it before. Samuel caught the look on my face and broke into laughter. That afternoon, my name shot up on the trending topic list. It turned out that a reporter had caught the moment I was presented with the plaque trophy. He even tracked down the elderly lady for an interview and later published the full story of what had happened on set. In no time, praise flooded the internet. I had always been well-liked by the public, but today's event drew in an entirely new wave of die-hard fans. Netizens began calling me the most beautiful and kind-hearted sweetheart in the entertainment industry. But while reading all the compliments, I couldn't help feeling a bit uneasy. After all, I wasn't the one who saved that elderly lady—I had only done what anyone else in my position would've done. I couldn't help but grumble to Samuel about bringing the elderly lady here today, but his response was simple and firm. "You don't need to be humble. This is exactly what you deserve." Rosaline's POV: "Naomi actually did something like that? I never would've guessed." As I scrolled through the news headlines, a satisfied smile tugged at my lips. I confirmed the story's authenticity with Naomi's agent. Then, I informed the company's PR team so they could step in and keep the topic afloat online, extending Naomi's moment in the spotlight. Just then, someone knocked on the office door. I looked up and said, "Come in." Jasper walked in, giving me a polite nod. "What brings you here?" I asked, a bit taken aback by his unexpected visit. "My manager said there are a few scripts he wants me to take a look at. He's got a new actor to mentor over there, so I thought I'd ask what you think first," Jasper said, fixing his gaze on me. Hearing that, I suddenly remembered—given the peak of Jasper's popularity, I should strike while the iron is hot and get him into a new acting project. I had just stood up when something on the computer screen caught the corner of my eye. I stopped in my tracks. "Is something wrong?" Jasper asked with a puzzled expression. I shook my head and grabbed a stack of scripts from the bookshelf. However, I didn't hand them to him. "These scripts won't do." I flipped through them quickly and realized all the roles were similar to the one Jasper had just played. While it'd be great to ride his current popularity to shape a new persona, it also meant quietly boxing him in as an actor."Jasper, do you want to play another role like the one in your last show?" Jasper shook his head without hesitation. He knew exactly what was expected of an actor at his level: to keep pushing boundaries, not settle into a comfort zone. "I've decided to create a TV series tailored just for you," I said thoughtfully. "For me?" Jasper was caught off guard. "You're part of the reason." I clapped my hands and motioned for Jasper to look at the news about Naomi on my computer screen. "You'll be the male lead, and Naomi will be the female lead." Jasper didn't have much of a reaction. He just looked at me calmly while I continued, "It would be a youth-oriented inspirational idol drama. Naomi's buzz is peaking right now—it's the perfect time for this kind of promotion." But just as I finished, I noticed a flicker of hesitation cross Jasper's face. "Is something bothering you?" I asked, finding it odd. Jasper seemed to snap out of it and softly asked, "Can we get someone else to play the male lead? I ... " "Your couple pairing with Naomi's was a massive hit in the last show. The fans are all eager to see you two acting as a couple again," I said calmly. "Well ... " Jasper furrowed his brows slightly. "With all the buzz around you and Naomi, hyping your couple pairing comes with nothing but benefits." Similar characters might lead to overexposure and audience fatigue, but couple pairings? They don't. In fact, they make for perfect publicity. Jasper nodded slowly. He understood all this, so after thinking it over, he nodded in agreement. "Great. You'll get the script in a few days." I nodded.
