The Despised Luna's Comeback
When Richard saw my expression, concern filled his voice as he asked, "What's the matter, Rosie? Are you busy with something?" I silently counted the days until the design competition, wondering if I would manage to return in time. If everything went according to plan, I shouldn't miss anything crucial. I gave Richard a small smile and shook my head. "It's nothing. I'm heading to Phoshire soon for a fashion design competition. I was just thinking about whether I'd make it back on time, but I think it'll all work out. I'll go along with your plan." Richard's smile brightened at my reassurance, and he nodded eagerly. "Good, good. Then it's settled. I'll start looking into venues for your engagement party. Oh, and Rosie, you need to take it easy while you're working. Don't overdo it." "I understand ... Grandpa, don't worry about me," I said, my heart warming at his concern. It felt like the Moon Goddess would make it up to me in one way or another for the things she owed me. At least I had Caden and Richard looking out for me. I was truly fortunate. At that moment, Caden slapped the armrest of the couch, his tone a mix of teasing and challenge. "Grandpa, I'm going with Rosaline. You don't have to worry about anything happening to her. I'll bring her back safe and sound." "You little ... " Richard pointed at Caden, half-joking and half-warning. "Since you're going with Rosie, you'd better take care of her. Otherwise, if I see she's lost weight when you two return, I'll give you a good spanking, you little brat." Caden shook his head and laughed, clearly amused. "Alright, alright. I got it, Grandpa. You don't need to worry." Richard finally seemed reassured. The butler came in to remind him that it was time to rest, and Richard slowly rose with the support of his cane. "You two don't come back often, so don't leave just yet. Stay here tonight. Leslie, prepare a room for them. Let this little couple have some time together." Leslie, clearly understanding Richard's implication, nodded and headed upstairs to get the room ready, a smile tugging at his lips. Caden and I exchanged glances, and I sighed before shrugging. I understood Richard's intentions. It had been quite a while since Caden had returned home. After dinner, Richard excused himself, claiming he needed to retire to his room. Before he left, he gave us a knowing look. I knew exactly what he meant, and I smiled at Caden. "My grandpa is like that. Don't mind him. You've known him long enough," Caden said, as though sensing my discomfort. He leaned in and gently squeezed my hand to reassure me. I whispered, "I know. He's your grandpa, the Alpha of Eclipse Pack, after all." We joked our way back to the room. Once inside, I exhaled deeply, walked over to the window to straighten the blankets, and sat on the bed, finally allowing myself to relax. "Maybe I haven't been active enough. I'm so tired today," I muttered. "If you're tired, just sleep. The old mansion is far from home," Caden said, sitting beside me. His hand subtly slid around my waist, pulling me closer. I sensed something was off and lowered my head, gently brushing his hand away. "What are you doing? Keep your hands to yourself. Go sleep on the couch tonight." Caden chuckled but didn't move. "Rosie, we haven't had time to talk properly in so long ... " I stared at him in surprise, hearing this soft tone from the usually confident heir. Wait—no, he was pouting. I knew exactly what Caden was thinking, but some things just weren't acceptable. And after the way he had played with me last time, leaving right after making me come? This time, he had no chance. I glared at him, raising my voice just a little. "No means no. You're sleeping on the couch tonight." Caden let out a long sigh, finally letting go of me and surrendering. "Alright, fine." Caden's POV: The night grew late, and after washing up, Rosaline quickly drifted to sleep, but I found it hard to find rest on the long sofa. From the bed not far away, everything had quieted down, leaving only the gentle rhythm of her breathing. Slowly, I opened my eyes and turned to look at her. Rosaline was curled up, facing away from me, looking serene. I thought about it, but the desire within me grew stronger. Quietly, I got up from the sofa and crept toward her side. I carefully braced myself on the edge of the bed and leaned down to place a soft kiss on her cheek. "Hmm?" Rosaline stirred, a soft murmur escaping her lips as she rubbed her eyes and blinked, surprised. "Why aren't you asleep yet?"
