The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 502 Daring to Play With Fire

Queenie's POV: I shot a venomous glare at Rosaline standing on the stage, an uncontrollable surge of jealousy twisting inside me. For so long, I had assumed Caden would be getting engaged to Heidi—but in the end, it was Rosaline. I refused to accept it. How could an Omega like her be chosen instead of me? A primal rage boiled within me, and I wished I could shift into my wolf form that very moment, leap onto the stage, and rip Rosaline apart until there was nothing left of her. Caden was mine—the most exceptional heir in the entire Werewolf Continent—and no one had the right to take him from me! "Aunt Eleanor, just look at Caden—he's completely under Rosaline's spell, that cunning vixen." I cast a sideways glance at Aunt Eleanor, unable to resist stirring the pot. "If his fiancée had been Heidi, a mere bar singer, getting rid of her would have been effortless. "But Rosaline is an entirely different threat. That Omega isn't just shrewd and ruthless—she's also the powerhouse behind Starplay Entertainment. After everything we've put her through, if she actually ends up marrying Caden, don't you think we'll be in serious trouble?" After hearing what I said, Aunt Eleanor's face darkened, her eyes burning with hatred as she shot a venomous glare at Rosaline standing on the stage. She turned to me and declared, "Queenie, don't worry. I will never allow that Omega, Rosaline, to become my son's wife." "But even Mr. Richard is supporting her," I replied, anxiety gnawing at me. After everything that happened today, it's obvious that the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack was already aware of what Caden and Rosaline had planned. Otherwise, why would the Alpha approve Caden and Heidi's engagement when he clearly has feelings for Rosaline? "That's not something you need to concern yourself with," Aunt Eleanor said through clenched teeth. "I have my own methods." At that moment, a thought struck me—back when Caden had imprisoned us, Aunt Eleanor had made a single phone call, and just like that, Mr. Richard had commanded Caden to set us free. That could only mean Aunt Eleanor had some kind of hold over the Alpha. And whatever it was, it had to be something significant. I had overheard bits and pieces before—something about Caden's father's death. Curiosity gnawed at me. What exactly had happened back then? If I could uncover the truth for Caden, would he finally notice me? Maybe, just maybe, he'd even fall in love with me. The idea sent a thrill through me before I could even stop it. It looked like I needed to find the right moment to question Aunt Eleanor about what truly happened back then. Rosaline's POV: "That's all for today," Caden announced in a low, firm tone. "Rosaline and I will be engaged next month. The exact date will be revealed later." With that, he took my hand and guided me off the stage without another word. As our fingers laced together, his warmth seeped into my skin, sending a comforting heat through my chest. When we reached the hotel parking lot, Caden gracefully opened the car door for me and murmured in a gentle voice, "Get in." "Thanks," I said as I settled into the passenger seat, leaning back against the cushion with a quiet sigh. Tonight had been a whirlwind, and exhaustion was finally catching up to me. All I wanted now was to head back and get some rest. "Can you take me home?" I asked, glancing over at Caden. He let out a low chuckle. "Where else would I take you? Your things have already been moved to New Moon City." "What?" I snapped, my eyes narrowing as I shot him a sharp glare. "Who said you could move my stuff without asking me first?" Caden had a habit of doing things his way and explaining afterward—if he even bothered to explain at all. "You're my wife," he stated matter-of-factly as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "Of course, you should live with me." I was dumbfounded.Caden drove me back to New Moon City, and the moment we stepped inside, Willa greeted me with a bright smile. "Ms. Sinclair is back!" "Willa." I returned her warmth with a gentle smile. She had always treated me kindly, like family. When I entered my room, I wasn't surprised to find that Caden had, as expected, already moved all my belongings back. I had moved out before to make Heidi believe Caden and I had drifted apart. Now that everything had been settled, his eagerness to have me back filled me with warmth. After tidying up quickly, I headed to the bathroom for a shower, hoping to turn in early for the night. But as I stepped out, fresh from my shower, I froze. Caden's tall figure was sitting casually on my bed, waiting for me. "What do you think you're doing?" I huffed, striding over with irritation. I grabbed his arm, attempting to pull him up. "Move! Go back to your room!" But Caden was like a stone wall—solid and unyielding. No matter how much I tugged, he didn't budge an inch. Of course, I couldn't use my full strength, or I'd risk revealing my Alpha identity. Still, deep down, there was something I actually wanted to tell him. Lost in thought, I was caught off guard when Caden suddenly pulled me into his arms. He was dressed in a white robe, the top two buttons undone, revealing a firm chest that I accidentally bumped my forehead against. The solid warmth sent a jolt through me. "Hmm?" I let out a soft laugh and tried to push him away so I could stand up. But just as I moved, a sharp tug at my scalp made me wince. My hair had gotten tangled in the buttons of his robe. I couldn't believe my luck ... With a sigh, I admitted defeat. "Can you help me? My hair's stuck in your button." Caden let out a low chuckle. "Do it yourself."I stared at him, speechless. Seriously? He was doing this on purpose. Just do it myself? I deliberately trailed my fingertips across Caden's chest, my touch featherlight. His breathing hitched instantly, turning heavier. "Don't move!" he ordered, grabbing my wrists to keep me still. Before I could react, he flipped me beneath him in one swift motion, his eyes dark with warning. "Daring to play with fire—do you have any idea what that leads to, hmm?"
