The Despised Luna's Comeback
Rosaline's POV: I looked at Yura with a mysterious smile as I spoke, "Don't worry, Yura. This is something Caden and I planned from the start. You can calm down. You'll soon see everything unfold." "Planned?" Yura's confusion deepened. "What did you plan? What kind of plan involves such breaking news?" "Here's what happened ... " I decided it was time to stop keeping secrets and explain everything to both Yura and Ryan. When Yura finally understood, she slapped me lightly on the arm. "So it was all a setup? You should've told me earlier! I thought Caden had really fallen for someone else." I chuckled, shaking my head. "At first, I didn't want to tell anyone. The fewer people who knew, the more convincing it would be. But now, with everything about to happen, it won't hurt to tell you both." I paused and gave them both a mischievous look. "Oh, and by the way ... " I suddenly had a playful thought and grinned. "How's everything going ... between you two?" Both Yura and Ryan became visibly awkward. Ryan smiled at Yura but remained silent, offering no explanation. Yura shot me an exasperated look and sighed. "What are you thinking? Ryan and I are just friends. Anything beyond that ... isn't even something I'm considering right now. Besides ... " She started to say more but stopped midway. Ryan, ever the tactful one, spoke up at that moment. "We just got off the plane and rushed over. I'm a little hungry. Rosie, do you have anything to eat?" "You can check the fridge. There should be some of the mini cakes I made." As Ryan headed to the kitchen, Yura grabbed my hand, her expression shifting to concern. "While I was away, how's Timothy doing? Is his leg any better?" "He's much better." I nodded. "He's been really cooperative with his treatment, and his recovery is going well. He's in the observation stage now, but everything seems fine." "That's good to hear. Dr. Watts must have been a huge help." Yura finally relaxed, a smile forming on her face. Seeing that, I knew she was still hung up on Timothy. I remembered she'd wanted to visit him before heading back to Hego, so I decided to test the waters. "Hughie's leaving in a few days, and since you're back, do you want to go with me to see Timothy tomorrow?""Sure." Yura agreed without hesitation. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Ryan standing nearby, holding a plate of cakes, his face subtly expressing disappointment. I pretended not to notice. Whatever was going on between them, it was something they would need to figure out on their own. Yura's POV: The next day, Rosaline took me to the hospital to visit Timothy. For some reason, the closer we got to the hospital, the more uneasy I became. Rosaline must have sensed my tension, and just before we reached Timothy's room, she gave my hand a gentle squeeze. "Timothy, Yura has been wanting to see you. She just got back from Hego, and I brought her here." Rosaline opened the door and spoke to Timothy, who was lying in bed. The moment Timothy saw me, he froze, clearly caught off guard. Unfazed, Rosaline set the flowers and fruit she had brought on the bedside table, then glanced at me with a wink. "You two catch up. I'm going to step out for a call." Once Rosaline left, I stood there, staring at Timothy. My eyes filled with tears, but none fell. I missed him so much, but I didn't know where to begin. After what seemed like an eternity, I managed to offer a small smile. "Timothy, it's been a while. Rosaline told me ... your leg's almost fully recovered." Timothy tugged the corner of his mouth into a faint smile. "Yeah, Dr. Watts is amazing. My leg's nearly healed, and he said after a bit more rest, I'll be good to go. Don't worry ... I'm fine." I stood there in a daze for a moment, then nodded and smiled. "Okay." After that, a heavy silence settled between us. I fidgeted with my fingers, unsure of what to say next. Timothy stared at me quietly, just as speechless. I sighed softly, my heart aching. Moon Goddess, could you tell me why, despite our love, things had become so distant between us?
