The Despised Luna's Comeback
Queenie's POV: "Aunt Eleanor, how did it go? Did Grandpa agree?" I eagerly asked as I saw Eleanor end her phone call. "Of course, your Grandpa has agreed to ask Caden for a release for us," she replied confidently. "That's great!" My excitement was palpable, and I nearly leaped from my seat. Finally, freedom was within reach! "By the way, Aunt Eleanor, did you mention to Grandpa about something Caden doesn't know regarding Uncle's death?" I asked, my curiosity piqued. I had unintentionally overheard some of Aunt Eleanor's conversation with Richard. Though I had not caught every detail, it was clear that she held some sort of leverage over the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack, connected somehow to Uncle's death. Eleanor's expression chilled. "It's ancient history. You don't need to concern yourself with it." "Oh." Disappointment washed over me, but I nodded obediently. "Aunt Eleanor, are we really going to be able to go out soon?" "Yes," she affirmed without hesitation. My thoughts darkened. All the turmoil we faced was because of Rosaline! Once I am free, I will not let that Omega get away with it! Rosaline's POV: I was deep in my work when my phone rang. I excused myself and found a quiet corner to answer. "Anthony, what's up?" I greeted. "Wilda, I've got some good news." Anthony's voice was low but hinted at excitement. "Oh? Is it about Heidi?" I asked, my tone serious. "Not exactly," he chuckled. "It's about BPL. I think you'll be interested." "Okay, enough with the suspense. Just tell me what's happening!" I urged, rubbing my temples in frustration. "Well, you know how BPL resorted to some underhanded tactics to secure the Azure Bay project bid, right?" Anthony's voice held a hint of triumph. "Now, the Rivemon government has made their move, and Everett is secretly offloading Azure Bay land.""That is indeed good news," I replied with a smirk. "Thanks!" "Wilda, no need for formalities. Your business is my business," Anthony said, his tone warm. After ending the call, I headed straight for the CEO's office. The door was slightly open, and inside, Yale was deep in conversation with Caden. I knocked lightly. "Ms. Sinclair," Yale greeted, noticing me and nodding respectfully. "Come in," Caden invited, his smile slight but genuine. I entered, and Yale, with a sharp glance, excused himself. "I'll leave you two." "Okay," Caden acknowledged with a casual nod. As Yale left, closing the door behind him, I approached Caden's desk. Suddenly, he reached out, his long fingers gripping my arm and pulling me towards him, causing me to tumble into his lap. "What are you doing?" I protested, my cheeks flushing at the sudden closeness. Caden lowered his head to whisper in my ear, "Did you come to see me because you missed me?" Flustered, I tried to regain composure. "I came here for a reason," I said, trying to stand up. Caden's expression turned serious. "What's the matter?" "I received information that Everett is secretly selling the land in Azure Bay," I explained, clearing my throat. "We have a chance to buy this land and negotiate a very favorable price." Caden raised an eyebrow, a light smirk playing on his lips. "Great minds think alike," he remarked. "Huh?" A flicker of happiness crossed my heart. "Are you saying ... " Caden took my hand gently and kissed it. "Just now, Beta and I were discussing this very matter, and I've already instructed him to handle it," he explained. "We can't purchase the land directly under the Eclipse Group name because Everett won't sell to us. So, I asked Beta to arrange for a third-party company to make the purchase." "That's truly a coincidence," I smiled, pleased by the synchronicity. My smile seemed to distract Caden for a moment, and he leaned in to kiss me. This time, I did not pull away. It was a passionate and lingering kiss. Just then, Caden's phone rang, breaking the moment. I gently pushed him away, "Your phone is ringing. Better answer it." Caden took out his phone, a puzzled look crossing his face. I noticed the caller ID showed it was from the old mansion of Eclipse Pack on the outskirts. This was unusual, and Caden seemed just as bewildered. He quickly answered, "Grandpa, are you looking for me?" "Caden, did I disturb you?" came Richard's deep voice. "No, Grandpa, what do you need?" Caden asked, his voice filled with concern. "Oh, nothing much," Richard replied casually. "I just wanted to ask how you plan to handle your mom and Queenie." I overheard this and felt a jolt of surprise. Richard's tone was off, making me wonder why he would suddenly ask about this. "Grandpa, they both did something that hurt you. I can't just let that go. Don't worry, they won't have the opportunity to harm you again." Caden's voice was cold and firm, indicating his resolve. "Are you planning to keep them locked up for life?" Mr. Richard sighed over the phone. "Why not?" Caden smirked, giving me a glance. He clearly did not grasp the full implications of what was happening with the Alpha of the Eclipse Pack today. "Regardless, she is still your mother, so let them out in a few days."
