The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 350 Let's Go Down Together

"How can I be certain you'll keep your word?" I narrowed my eyes ever so slightly. "Do you think you have a choice?" Candice's face turned cold as she dragged Yura closer to the edge of the cliff. Yura's body dangled half off the edge, and with a single push from Candice, she would fall. "Keep talking, and I'll let go." Candice shouted. Yura's face drained of color, her body trembling in fear. "Stop!" I knitted my brows and walked closer. "Let Yura go, and I'll come to you." I quickly moved to Candice's side. She yanked Yura back to safety before shoving me to the ground. Then, Candice tied my hands tightly, securing a bundle of explosives to my waist. "These explosives are genuine. There's plenty of powder inside; I can smell it. If it detonates, even with my strength, we might not survive." Freya's worried voice echoed in my mind. I can smell it too, but at this point, I can't back down. If I did, Yura would die. "Rosaline, you shameless sl*t! I'll make sure you die tragically! When Jasper thinks of you, all he'll remember is your mangled body. Haha! Jasper is mine! No one will ever take him from me! This time next year, Rosaline, you'll be no more!" Candice laughed maniacally, holding the remote to the explosives. Yura, who had fallen to the ground, was tied up by Candice. She had stopped dragging Yura toward the cliff now, but Yura was helpless, unable to do anything. "Ready to die, Rosaline?" Candice cackled madly. Just as she was about to press the button on the remote, I suddenly broke free from the ropes and charged at her. Candice hadn't expected me to break free so easily. I seized the opportunity to snatch the remote from her hand. But Candice was quick to react. As soon as the remote slipped from her fingers, she grabbed it back tightly, refusing to let me have it. We struggled like two people tugging on a rope, both pulling at the remote by the cliff's edge."How did you get out of that? I have made sure it's impossible to untie!" Candice stared at me in disbelief. I tightened my grip on the remote, sneering. "Don't you think you're too full of yourself, huh? If Hugh couldn't tie me up, what makes you think you can?" The ropes might be tough for a normal werewolf, but I was an Alpha. Candice's eyes widened with hatred. She growled, "You lied to me!" "So what if I did?" I chuckled coldly, "You can't beat me, and you'll always lose to me." I gave the remote a final tug, trying to wrest it away from her. Just then, Caden appeared with a large group of bodyguards and police officers. I froze, stunned. Why is Caden here? "Stop it!" A swarm of officers drew out their guns, aiming them at Candice. "Rosaline!" Caden's face tightened with concern as he spotted the explosives strapped to me. I shouted, "Don't come any closer! I've got a bomb on me!" Alas, I had already put Yura in danger; I would rather not drag Caden into it too. "B*tch! You did call for help! We'll go down together!" Candice screamed, no longer fighting for the remote. Seeing the approaching officers, she clenched her jaw, her face twisted with rage. Candice hugged me tight and threw both of us over the cliff! "Rosaline, die!" She screamed, pulling me down with her. Her reaction caught me off guard. I never expected Candice to have such strength at this moment. Her body clung to mine like glue, determined to bring us both down. She was resolved to die with me, wrapping her arms around me so tightly I couldn't break free. The familiar terror of falling gripped me, and my face turned pale. Is this how I'm going to die?The fear of heights spread through my entire body. Caden's POV: "Rosaline!" I shouted as I saw her fall off the cliff. That lunatic actually hugged her tight and took Rosaline with her as she jumped. No! I can't lose Rosaline. I have to save her! But I was too late. I only managed to grab her arm. Then, we were both falling. In mid-air, I saw Candice holding tightly to Rosaline as she struggled. Candice still had the remote in her hand. I immediately let Edward take control of my body. It struck with a claw, severing Candice's arm. With an agonizing scream, her arm and the remote flew away. Candice finally released Rosaline. "Rosaline, don't be afraid. I'm here!" I shifted back to human form and flew to her side, pulling her into my arms. Rosaline, overcome by her fear of heights, had passed out. I held her tightly to my chest and flipped, trying to cushion her body with mine. A heavy impact hit. I felt my body slam into a tree branch on the cliffside. Before my consciousness faded, I held her as tightly as I could. "Rosaline, don't be afraid. I won't let you die. I'll always protect you."
