The Despised Luna's Comeback
When I am back in his arms, hearing his familiar voice, and for a moment, my mind had turned into a daze. Freya was nearly exhausted from the intense battle, and my body suffered greatly as well. I planned to gather my strength and wait for Hugh to arrive, hoping to surprise him. But I hadn't expected Caden to show up. I leaned into Caden's chest, my voice weak. "Caden, why are you here? Am I dreaming?" My body was drenched in blood, with several wounds that had torn open and my clothes were ripped in multiple places. Caden looked at me with concern. He placed a gentle kiss on my forehead before whispering, "Silly girl, how could it be a dream? I'll take you to the hospital right away." Hugh's POV: A dozen strong black wolves had surrounded me, their eyes glaring with menace. My men were all tied up. Under the headlights, I stood in shock, watching as Caden lifted Rosaline into his arms. "M-mr. Holbrook?" I asked, my voice trembling. This incident is so serious that it drew him here. I knew that Caden and Rosaline shared a special bond, but hadn't these two already broken off their engagement? More importantly, Candice had told me that Caden didn't like Rosaline at all. She said that Rosaline had relentlessly pursued Caden even after they had broken off their engagement. Candice also claimed that Rosaline was playing both sides—seducing Jasper while continuing to chase after Caden. She was nothing but a fickle flirt. Caden is supposed to hate Rosaline! But what did I see? Caden was so protective of Rosaline. He didn't look like he hated her! Who was Caden, after all? He was the king of the Werewolf Continent, a god-like figure.I knew all too well what happened to those who crossed him. D*mmit, this is all Candice's fault! Caden's cold gaze pierced me like a blade, and he asked, "You think you can bully my woman?" His stare, filled with the aura of a future Alpha, made my legs go weak. Without realizing it, I collapsed to my knees with a thud. "Mr. Holbrook, I didn't know she's your woman." I crawled on the ground and smiled flatteringly. Caden glared at me. He suddenly kicked my knee with full force. I could hear the sound of my kneecap cracking. "Ahhhh!" I screamed in pain. Through gritted teeth, Caden spoke in rage, "I'm sparing your life not because of mercy, but because I want to know who dared to hurt my woman." I bit my lip to suppress the pain, nervously smiling. "Mr. Holbrook, this is all just a misunderstanding." "If anything happens to Rosaline, I'll make sure your entire clan pays the price!" Caden said coldly, turning away without another word. He carried Rosaline in his arms and headed to the car. I collapsed to the ground, a sense of hopelessness consuming me. It's game over for me. Caden's POV: I carefully placed Rosaline into the car. Yale approached. I spoke in a cold tone, "You know what to do, right?" "Yes, Mr. Holbrook!" Yale snapped to attention, immediately turning around to give orders. "Break the hands of all the wolves involved tonight, tie them up, and send them to the police." The scene was filled with the sound of agonizing screams. Those werewolf warriors quickly crushed the claws of Hugh's black wolves before tying them up. I paid no attention to the chaos outside. My voice was deep as I told the driver, "Take us to the hospital!" "Caden, thank you."Rosaline lay in my arms, but before she could finish her sentence, she passed out. Rosaline's POV: I had the strangest, longest dream. In my dream, I was being chased by many people, running for my life. But ahead of me was a cliff, and behind me were my pursuers. I had nowhere to run. "Caden, help me!" I instinctively tried to call out, but my throat was dry, and no words came out. Someone pushed me off the cliff. I fell into an endless abyss, falling farther and farther down. "Ahhhh." I was jolted awake and started to regain consciousness. What happened? Was it just a nightmare? No, that dream had felt so real, as though it had truly happened. It was no dream! I tried to move my fingers, but my muscles were too sore and weak. The memories came back—Hugh had sabotaged my car's brakes. After I managed to escape, I was surrounded by Hugh and his wolves. I fought back, knocking one down after another, but they kept coming, as if there was an endless swarm of them. Then, I summoned Freya. But even Freya couldn't hold on. I shifted back to my human form, preparing to lure Hugh into a trap. But I didn't have the confidence. There were just too many of them. My body ached. I had sustained several injuries. Just when everything seemed lost, Caden appeared like a savior, swooping in to save me. I could still see Caden's handsome face in my mind, and warmth filled my heart. Where is he now?
