The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 313 Unveiling the Truth (Part One)

Stimulant? The revelation sent a ripple of shock through the crowd. So the horse I had ridden that day had gone wild not by chance, but because it had been deliberately drugged? "Don't try to deny it, I don't know you at all!" Sarah's voice shook as she spoke. "Ms. Conti, this is the check you gave me. How can you say you don't know me?" The props staff member challenged, holding up the check that bore Sarah's signature. At this, Sarah stood dumbstruck, her mouth hanging open, unable to respond. Now, all the evidence seemed to point to Sarah having orchestrated a scheme to harm me behind my back. I observed the unfolding scene with a detached coolness, my lips curling slightly. Candice had proved to be quite adept, managing to bribe so many into harming me while trying to frame Sarah. Just then, several officers arrived on the scene. "Mr. Sullivan, did you call this in? What's happened here?" one of the officers asked Jasper. "There was an intentional injury incident on our set just now," Jasper explained gravely. Before the officers could respond further, Candice stepped forward. "Officer, the person who's been trying to harm Ms. Sinclair is Sarah. Now we have two eyewitnesses and physical evidence against her. She needs to be taken to the station!" She was clearly eager to settle the matter swiftly, pinning all the blame on Sarah to ensure her own safety. I watched her maneuver coldly. This time, her intent was not directly to harm me but to exonerate herself and escape unscathed. There was no way I was going to let her slip away so easily. "Is this the knife?" The officer's attention turned to the knife lying on the ground. I stepped forward. "That's correct." The werewolf officer then turned to a colleague from the forensic department. "Check for fingerprints," he instructed. "Understood." The forensic officer donned their gloves, crouched down, and carefully lifted the knife. "Mr. Sullivan, Ms. Sinclair, please accompany me to give your statements," the werewolf officer requested. "Of course." I nodded in agreement. We moved to a nearby rest area where several werewolf officers began taking statements from all involved. Lina and the props staff both insisted that Sarah was the one who directed them to do it. However, Sarah remained adamant in her denial. "I've never done such a thing. I was with Megan during the break, and she can confirm my alibi." "Yes, officer, I can vouch for her. Ms. Conti didn't do this," Megan quickly interjected. "Officer, Megan is Sarah's manager, and her testimony isn't impartial. I'm certain it was Sarah who instructed me," Lina stressed. The officer diligently noted everything down and assured, "We will investigate thoroughly." Soon, the results of the fingerprint analysis were ready. The forensic officer brought the report over to the officer taking statements. "According to our analysis, only Sarah's fingerprints were found on the knife." "See, it was Sarah all along!" Candice quickly chimed in, eager to close the case. "With all this evidence, there's no way Sarah can deny it!" "No, it's not me!" Sarah pleaded, her eyes searching mine for belief. "Ms. Sinclair, I truly didn't do it." I gently patted Sarah's shoulder, my expression unreadable. "The fact that only Sarah's fingerprints are on the knife actually suggests she isn't our culprit." Candice looked puzzled. "Ms. Sinclair, what do you mean?" "What I mean is that the real mastermind, the one manipulating things behind the scenes to set me up, isn't Sarah," I explained calmly. "But how can that be? The police just confirmed that only Sarah's fingerprints are on the knife. If not her, then who?" Candice asked, her voice betraying a hint of panic. A flicker of unease passed through Candice's eyes as she clenched her fists.I allowed myself a small, knowing smirk. Pointing at the knife in the forensic officer's hand, I spoke coldly, "Sarah was the one using this knife during the filming, so naturally, her fingerprints would be on it. But isn't it odd that hers are the only fingerprints found?" Jasper glanced at me. "Rosaline, are you suggesting ... " I gave a sarcastic smirk. "This knife, from its production and purchase to its arrival on set, surely passed through more hands than just Sarah's. It's impossible for only her fingerprints to be on it." After a brief pause, I continued, "Yet now, it seems only Sarah's fingerprints are on it. Why? The only explanation is that someone, intending to swap the knife, wiped it clean of fingerprints to avoid leaving their own. Afterward, the only person who touched it was Sarah during the shoot."
