The Despised Luna's Comeback
If I give in too easily, he won't treasure it. Just like before, no matter the excuse, I couldn't accept Caden spending the engagement day with Heidi. "If you stay quiet, I'll take that as a yes," Caden smirked, his deep voice cutting through the silence. Before I could react, he stood up, took my hand, and slipped a ring onto my finger. His palm was so warm that it jolted me back to my senses. I grabbed his hand and glared at him. "Who said I agreed?" Caden had already put the ring on me, his thin lips curling into a relaxed smile. "It's already there. Whether you agree or not, you have no choice now." I shot him a sharp look. This man was truly shameless. "If it's on, it can come off." My voice was cold as I made a show of removing the ring. "Don't take it off." His grip tightened around my wrist, trapping me. I lifted my head, meeting his deep, unfathomable gaze. I opened my mouth to argue, but before a single word could leave my lips, he suddenly leaned in and kissed me. "Mmm ... " My words vanished, swallowed by the heat of his lips. I gasped for breath, pushing against his chest, but he refused to move. His kiss was fierce and overbearing, making my heart pound wildly. His passionate kiss descended like a raging storm, fiercely claiming every inch of my lips with relentless intensity, leaving me no room to breathe. Heat crept up my cheeks, spreading like wildfire. Inside the helicopter, the air turned thick with tension. Outside the window, dozens of helicopters shifted into dazzling formations, painting the sky with a breathtaking and romantic pattern. Their dazzling lights reflected off our faces as Caden and I shared a deep passionate kiss. I had no idea how much time had passed before Caden finally pulled away, ending the lingering kiss."Say yes, Rosaline," he murmured against my ear, his deep, magnetic voice carrying a hint of seduction. I pressed my palms to my flushed cheeks, took a steady breath, and stayed silent. Noticing my lack of response, a flicker of disappointment crossed his intense gaze. "What will it take for you to say yes?" He grasped my shoulders firmly, his voice low and insistent. I hesitated for a moment, then pressed my lips together before speaking. "The three month agreement isn't up yet. I'll give you my answer when the time comes. Until then, it's up to you to prove yourself." Caden's POV: "I have to wait ... " A heavy weight settled in my chest. I put so much effort into tonight. This is the first time I've ever opened up so completely to a woman. I'm even willing to disregard the destined mate chosen for me and make her my Luna instead. But Rosaline enjoys making me suffer. She knows how deep my feelings run and how much I long for her, yet she still won't accept me. Fine. It's only three months. I can wait. "Want to see my performance?" I suddenly leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "I'll make sure you're pleased." Rosaline's POV: Does thismanever stop kissingmewhenever he pleases? I haven'tevensaidyesyet! I shoved Caden back and turned to stare out the window. "Can you move these helicopters away?" "Why?" His brows knitted together in confusion. "It's late. I'd like to leave soon," I answered evenly. Caden caught my wrist, his gaze locked onto mine. "I'm still waiting for your answer."At Caden's signal, the helicopter slowly descended, touching down smoothly. I finally let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding. Being back on solid ground felt reassuring. "I'll drive you home," Caden said, gripping my hand as he led me toward his car. Out of nowhere, a brief flash flickered behind me, like the snap of a camera. I turned, scanning the beach. A few people stood in the distance, watching us, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. If Caden hadn't cleared the area in advance, we'd probably be surrounded by now. After all, with the extravagant display he just put on, plenty of people must have noticed. I wonder if tomorrow's headlines will be all about Caden's rejected proposal. I stole a quick glance at the cold man beside me and couldn't help but curl my lips into a subtle smile. For someone as proud as Caden, there's no way he'd ever let the world find out about his failed proposal. Just as that thought crossed my mind, my phone suddenly rang. I pulled it out and looked at the screen. It was Jasper. The moment his name lit up, Caden's already stormy expression darkened even more. Ignoring the chill radiating from him, I calmly answered, "Hello, Jasper." His smooth, familiar voice carried over the line. "Rosaline, are you asleep? I hope I'm not interrupting." "No, it's fine. What's up?" I replied evenly. "Well, it's about 'The Call of the Wolf'. I've shortlisted a few roles that I think would suit you. I'm not sure which one you'd prefer. When do you have time?" Jasper asked over the phone. After a brief pause, I said, "How about tomorrow night?" "Perfect. See you then," Jasper replied, his voice laced with a trace of excitement. I gave a slight nod. "See you tomorrow night."
