The Despised Luna's Comeback
Rosaline's POV: I couldn't stop myself from lifting a brow. Whatisthisimportantmanuptonow? Actingallsecretive. Thirty minutes later, Caden parked the car by the seaside. "We've arrived." He stepped out and courteously opened the door for me. I got out of the car and scanned my surroundings. Not far ahead, the endless sea stretched out. A luxurious cruise ship rested on the calm sea surface. I recognized it instantly. It belonged to Caden. Last time, he proposed to me right on that cruise ship. Now he has brought me back. What was his plan this time? "Rosaline, come with me." He took my hand and led me aboard. Two werewolf bodyguards stood at the entrance. When they spotted him, they greeted him respectfully, "Mr. Holbrook, everything is prepared." He gave a small nod. I narrowed my eyes. "Caden, what are you planning?" He flashed a knowing grin. "You'll see soon enough." He guided me to the dining area, seating us at the very table where his proposal had happened before. The moment I sat down, all the lights in the cruise ship restaurant went out. "Ah!" Darkness swallowed everything, and a startled scream escaped my lips. I hated the dark. It terrified me. "Rosaline, don't worry." His deep, reassuring voice whispered near my ear. His fingers wrapped around mine. "Close your eyes."For some reason, his voice held an irresistible charm, and before I knew it, I obeyed. I felt the gentle heat of Caden's large hand against mine, and a quiet sense of calm washed over me. After a few moments, he leaned in and murmured, "You can open your eyes now." Slowly, I lifted my gaze. Around us, candlelight flickered softly, casting a warm and romantic glow. The table was set with beautifully arranged dishes, every single one of them my favorite. So, it was a candlelight dinner. I met his eyes across the table and asked, "Did you bring me here just for a meal?" "Not exactly." His brow arched slightly as he locked eyes with me, his voice carrying a serious edge. I frowned slightly, confused. "Then what is it?" If this wasn't just a romantic dinner, then what was his real purpose? Could it be that he was going to ... A thought crossed my mind, a vague suspicion, but I hadn't quite pieced it together yet. "Rosaline, have a taste. You love this," he said, his deep voice pulling me back to the moment. "Thanks," I said, watching as Caden carefully placed a peeled shrimp onto my plate. I picked up my fork and took a bite. The flavors were rich and savory, absolutely delightful. Noticing my enjoyment, he peeled another shrimp and gently set it on my plate. "Have some more," he said softly. "I can do it myself," I murmured, pressing my lips together. Caden's bright eyes stayed on me, his voice steady and sincere. "I enjoy peeling shrimp for you. If you'll let me, I'd like to do it for a lifetime." I halted, my fork hovering midair. That line sounded oddly familiar. He had said something like this before. Now that he brought it up again, I couldn't shake the feeling that tonight, Caden was dangerously charming. Trying to ignore him, I focused on my food, acting as if I hadn't heard a thing. But his unwavering gaze never left me. It was deep, intense, and unrelenting. After what felt like forever, I finally put down my utensils and stood up. "I'm done eating. Can we leave now?" Caden stepped forward, his tall frame blocking my way. His voice was calm yet firm. "No hurry." I raised an eyebrow. "I have work to do when I get back." Everett had suffered a loss today, and he would definitely retaliate against Eclipse Group soon. I needed to finalize the design for "Ice and Fire" as soon as possible and get it on the market before he made his next move. My plan was clear. Head back tonight and focus on finishing the product. Without warning, Caden took my hand and led me off the cruise ship, his grip firm and steady. "Rosaline, come with me." "Caden, what are you doing?" I asked, exasperated. This man was always so unpredictable. And once again, he wasn't telling me a thing. Caden curved his lips into a sly smile. "Come with me, and you'll find out soon enough." I shot him an annoyed look. "Can't you just tell me? I hate guessing games ... " Before I could finish, my words caught in my throat. Because right in front of me, numerous helicopters of various sizes were parked, their imposing presence utterly breathtaking. Just moments ago, when we arrived, none of these helicopters were there. As soon as Caden approached, the werewolf pilots straightened and saluted him in unison. "Mr. Holbrook!" He gave a small nod. "Is everything set?" "All ready, Mr. Holbrook!" they responded without hesitation. I frowned, confusion deepening. "What's going on?"Without answering, he took my hand and led me toward the largest helicopter. He helped me into the seat by the window before settling in beside me. The rotors began to spin, and the helicopter slowly lifted off the ground. "Hey! What are you doing?" Panic surged through me as I instinctively shut my eyes. "I ... I'm afraid of heights ... " Is he outof his mind? He knows I'm terrified of heights, yet here we are, soaring through the night in a helicopter. A quiet chuckle escaped his lips as he reached out, his well-defined fingers gently pulling me into his arms. "Rosaline, as long as I'm here, you have nothing to be afraid of," he murmured against my ear, his warm breath sending a shiver down my spine. His warm breath brushed against my ear, sending a tingling sensation down my spine. Nestled in his strong embrace, I felt a familiar aura of dominance that left me momentarily dazed. Honestly, I quite liked this feeling. But still, what exactly was he up to?
