The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 233 I Can Prove It

I was taken aback by how quickly Lilian agreed to the plan. Was she really not concerned about the truth coming to light? The security footage would have clearly shown the events. I had barely touched Lilian with a slight shove—there was no way I could have caused any damage to her dress. It seemed far more likely that either Lilian or Wendy had deliberately ruined the dress themselves to frame me. Once the footage was reviewed, the truth would be clear as day. So why wasn't Lilian even a little worried? Something about this felt off. Noticing my hesitation, Lilian shot me a smug look. "Don't forget, Rosaline, when this is all over, you'll be kneeling, begging for my forgiveness." Lilian's POV: Rosaline must've thought she had figured this out. She may be clever, but there was something she would never guess. My cousin worked here at the boutique—he handled all the security and surveillance footage. I'd already messaged him to delete the video. I wasn't afraid for her to get the footage. I wasn't worried in the slightest. I was going to make Rosaline regret crossing me. Today, she was going to kneel before me no matter what. And she would never dare get near my precious Jasper again! Caden's POV: I woke up early that morning with plans to work at the office, but somehow, I found myself driving toward Elderwood instead. I ended up parked outside Rosaline's apartment building, staring at the entrance. I had hoped to see her, but when I rang the doorbell, there was no answer. She wasn't home. I tried calling, but her phone was off. Frustrated, I made a U-turn and drove to the company. As soon as I stepped into the CEO's office, my phone rang—it was Yale. "Yale, what's going on?" I answered, trying to keep my tone steady. "I just saw Ms. Sinclair in the commercial district," Yale replied. "Rosaline?" I raised an eyebrow. What was she doing in the commercial district? "Yeah, she seemed to be in some kind of trouble." "Trouble? What kind of trouble?" I asked, growing more intrigued. "I'm not sure ... but it doesn't seem minor," Yale teased, knowing how impatient I was. "Mr. Holbrook, maybe you should come see for yourself." "Where exactly?" "Right outside the Honey Boutique." "I'll be there in a minute," I said, hanging up. Just as I was about to leave, Heidi appeared with a thermos in her hand. "Caden, I made breakfast for you. Give it a try," she said sweetly. I didn't even glance at her. "Tessa, I need to go." "Caden, where are you going? Let me come with you!" Heidi hurried after me. "Tessa, just go back," I said, frustrated. Yale had been so vague during the phone call, and I had to get to the commercial district to figure out what was going on with Rosaline. "Caden, let me go with you. I heard your call and I know it's about Ms. Sinclair. Let me help her," Heidi insisted, grasping onto my arm. Rosaline's POV: "So, what's it going to be, Rosaline?" Lilian said with a smug expression. "Kneel and apologize, and I'll forget about your little stunt with my dress." I glanced at her, unfazed, before responding with calm confidence, "If it turns out that you damaged your own dress to frame me, will you kneel and apologize instead?" Lilian hesitated for a moment, but Wendy quickly spoke up. "Of course she will. Don't worry, Lilian." "So you agree?" I asked, crossing my arms and staring directly at Lilian with a cold gaze.Lilian gritted her teeth. "Fine!" I followed them back to the boutique, the reporters trailing behind us, eager to catch every moment of this drama. Wendy turned to the sales associate. "Get the store manager." Seeing how intimidating Wendy looked, the associate immediately dialed the manager, who arrived about ten minutes later, looking flustered and hurried. "Ms. Crawford, what can I do for you?" the manager greeted us warmly. Wendy stepped forward haughtily. "It's like this. While shopping here earlier, my friend was attacked maliciously, and her dress was ruined. We want an explanation." "Is that so?" The manager turned to the associate for confirmation. The associate lowered her head, biting her lip nervously. "I was helping other customers, so I didn't notice anything." Wendy pointed at the tear in Lilian's dress. "See? This is what Rosaline did." "I'm tired of this. Just pull the security footage," I said, growing increasingly irritated by their ridiculous accusations. The manager nodded and called the head of security. "Please, get the footage for us." A few moments later, the security chief came back with an apologetic expression. "Sorry, manager. There's no footage of the incident." No footage? My heart sank as I processed what had just been said. I glanced up at the camera above the door, knowing it was working. Based on where the camera was positioned, it should have captured the moment when Lilian blocked my path and I gave her that light shove. Why wasn't there any footage? Lilian's lips curled into a triumphant smile as she stepped closer to me. Clearing her throat, she spoke. "Rosaline, even without the footage, Wendy and I both saw you ruin my dress. Plus, there are fingerprints on it. I suggest you stop resisting and just kneel to apologize." I shot her a cold stare. "Without the footage, there's no way you can prove I ruined your dress." "I can prove it," a voice suddenly interrupted, cutting through the tension.
