The Despised Luna's Comeback
Caden's POV: I was searching desperately for the cave when I suddenly heard music coming through the snow. Though it was faint, I could clearly hear it. Big Big World, that was Rosaline's favorite song! "Rosaline! It's Rosaline!!" I shouted in excitement, turning around. "Everyone, come here! Rosaline is here!" Everyone gathered around, and I quickly ordered, "Dig through the snow!" I immediately transformed into Edward and had him use his massive wolf paws to start digging into the snow. Others joined in with tools, some of them also transforming into wolves, like me, using their claws to dig. Edward, under my guidance, relentlessly clawed at the snow. The song, once muffled by layers of snow, became clearer with every shovelful removed. But soon, we ran into a serious problem. Beneath the snow, we hit a hard layer of ice. Though wolf claws were strong, they struggled against the thick, iron-like ice. Each swipe left only left faint marks behind. I could feel that Edward's digging was slowing down. "Mr. Caden, this isn't working. The progress is too slow. We have to stop, or we'll all freeze," Yale said, pausing before asking, "How about this? I'll take some of the townsfolk and head back to town for tools." I nodded and told Edward to stop. In my worry, I hadn't thought of getting tools first—I had been trying to use the most primitive method to save Rosaline. Yale, along with a few townsfolk, rushed back to town while I kept Edward digging. At that moment, my only thought was to rescue Rosaline as quickly as possible. Before long, Yale and the others returned with shovels and other tools. With the right tools, progress sped up significantly. About an hour later, the icy layer was finally cleared enough to create an opening. Rosaline's POV: A strong light poured through the hole, blinding me for a moment. I squinted, trying to adjust to the sudden brightness. When I opened my eyes again, the first thing I saw was Caden's tall, familiar figure standing right in front of me. It's Caden. It really is him! Even though I had known for a while, from inside the cave, that Caden was outside, working hard to dig me out, seeing him standing there before me felt surreal. I rubbed my eyes in disbelief. Tears welled up, and the world before me blurred as I fought back the emotions. I pursed my dry lips; my voice trembled as I spoke, "Caden, is it really you?" The sight of him, standing there, felt like a reunion after a lifetime apart. "Rosaline, it's me!" Caden's voice rang out clearly as he stepped into the cave, his deep, magnetic tone solid and reassuring. Without hesitation, Caden extended his long arms and pulled me into an embrace. I clung to him tightly in return. Once more, holding him so close, his warmth and his strength filled me with an overwhelming sense of peace. My heart raced, beating wildly as if a deer was darting in every direction. There were so many things I wanted to say, but I didn't know where to start. Why is Caden here? Why did he come to save me? Had he forgiven me for everything? Is Richard's illness the reason? As my thoughts spun, I opened my mouth, my voice barely a whisper, "I-I'm not dreaming, am I?" "Of course not." Caden tightened his embrace, his voice low and soothing in my ear. "Rosaline, I finally found you. Do you know how worried I was about you?" His warmth surrounded me, and my cold face began to flush from the heat. His presence was so familiar—so real. It really is Caden! He saved me. When I was on the brink of despair, he had appeared, like a guardian angel, and rescued me. "Caden, how did you know I was here?" I asked, my lips trembling as I met his gaze. "I thought I would never see you again." "You won't have to," Caden replied softly, his eyes meeting mine. The silent connection between us spoke volumes. Caden cupped my face in his hands, then lowered his head slowly, his lips moving toward mine. I watched as his familiar face came closer, growing larger in my vision. My face turned bright red. "Caden!" Just as his lips were about to touch mine, Heidi's voice, loud and unwelcome, interrupted. My heart tightened. Why is Heidi here?
