The Despised Luna's Comeback

Chapter 188 I Will Never Forgive You

Caden's POV: Rosaline's skilled movement left me completely astonished. Out of nowhere, a memory surfaced—when Stella fell into the water, it was Rosaline who performed CPR to save her. And when a big fish attacked me, leading to an infected wound, high fever, and unconsciousness, it was also Rosaline who took care of me until I recovered. This means she is knowledgeable in medical practice. After ten minutes, the ambulance arrived. A doctor rushed into the lounge without hesitation. "Doctor, please check on my grandpa," I said, stepping aside to give him space. "The patient has suffered a sudden heart attack and needs urgent medical attention!" The doctor examined Grandpa swiftly, his expression darkening as he set up emergency equipment. I walked with the doctor toward the ambulance waiting at the entrance. When I passed by Rosaline, I hesitated briefly. "If anything happens to Grandpa, I will never forgive you," I stated flatly. Rosaline's POV: A cold shiver ran through me, as though a harsh winter wind had pierced my heart. I never imagined things would spiral out of control like this. But wasn't Caden the one who set this all in motion? If he hadn't been so deeply in love with Tessa, I wouldn't have called off the engagement. What was meant to be a grand and joyful celebration ended in eerie silence before it even started. A dull pain throbbed in my chest, making it hard to breathe. "Rosaline, you're truly vile! You put Grandpa's life at risk. Are you happy now?" Queenie, wearing high heels, pointed at me and shouted furiously. "Rosaline, if anything happens to Dad, we won't let you off!" Eleanor added, her voice sharp with anger. Then, without warning, she raised her hand and swung it toward my face in a sharp slap.I swiftly dodged and caught Eleanor's wrist, pushing her back. "Mr. Richard suffered a heart attack, and I feel deeply sorry about it. But can you truly claim you had no part in his condition? Who was the one constantly saying things to agitate him just moments ago?" "You're still trying to shift the blame!" Queenie quickly rushed to support Eleanor. "Aunt Eleanor, are you alright?" Sensing a major scoop, the reporters wasted no time surrounding me, firing off questions one after another. "Ms. Sinclair, what are your thoughts on Mr. Richard's condition?" "Ms. Sinclair, what are your next steps after this incident?" "Ms. Sinclair, can you explain why you called off the engagement with Mr. Holbrook?" ... Feeling frustrated, I pushed past them and stated firmly, "Apologies, but I do not give interviews!" Seizing the moment, Queenie stepped forward and gestured for the reporters to gather around her and Eleanor. "You can come over and interview me and Aunt Eleanor." The reporters eagerly redirected their attention. Clearing her throat, Queenie declared, "Everyone witnessed what happened today. My grandpa's sudden heart attack was entirely caused by Rosaline's provocation! As a representative of the Eclipse Pack, I officially announce that our family has completely severed ties with the deceitful Omega, Rosaline Sinclair!" The reporters nodded in approval. I gave a chilly smirk. "Queenie, you're just an adopted child with no real ties to the Holbrooks. What right do you have to represent the Eclipse Pack?" Her complexion turned ashen, and she looked like she wanted to defend herself. However, I paid her no mind and strode away. Beyond the entrance, Yura and Jasper hurried over. "Rosaline, are you alright?" "Don't come after me. I need some time alone," I murmured, gazing at them. I understood that both of them were worried about me. But right now, I just wanted to be alone."But, Rosaline ... " Jasper was about to speak, but Yura stopped him. "Let her go. Give her some space." Ignoring Jasper's concerned expression, I stepped out of the hotel. As I wandered the streets alone, the vibrant neon lights flickered, casting shifting hues over me. My mind was in disarray. Had I made the right choice tonight? If I hadn't declared the cancellation of the engagement in front of everyone, perhaps Mr. Richard wouldn't have suffered a heart attack and ended up in the hospital. Yet, even if I had stayed silent, Caden would have still chosen the same path. Because his Tessa had come back. Weren't the results the same? Caden's icy voice lingered in my mind. "If anything happens to Grandpa, I will never forgive you." A sharp pain spread through my chest. Does he despise me? He blames me for what happened to Mr. Richard. Without realizing it, the rain had begun to pour. The heavy downpour drenched my clothes as it pelted against me. A chilly night breeze swept past, making me tremble. All of a sudden, something tapped against my head—an umbrella, shielding me from the rain. I lifted my gaze in surprise, only to see a tall, upright figure standing before me. It was Jasper. "Rosaline, I was worried about you."
