The Heiress' Savage Comeback

Chapter 520 The Production Crew Is Back

At that moment, a familiar figure emerged from the nearby forest. "Oh! It's Elaine! It's a ghost! Gavin, please help me!" Miranda sought refuge in Gavin's embrace, trembling uncontrollably. She buried her face in Gavin's chest, consumed by terror, yet unable to resist stealing occasional glances to see if Elaine's ghost came after her. Gavin had also spotted Elaine, and his countenance had drained of color, his body tensed and quivering ever so slightly. "Elaine, is that really you? Are you human or some kind of ghost?" he asked, his voice trembling. After her fall from such a great height, it seemed impossible for her to be unharmed, let alone standing before them without a single scratch. It defied all reason. However, here she was, standing completely unscathed before them. It was simply impossible. Consequently, the only logical deduction was that she was not human. In response, Elaine asked, "What do you think?" The flashlight beam illuminated Elaine's face from below her chin, casting an eerie scene as her wide grin showcased her pearly white teeth. "Elaine, please, have mercy. I'm begging you! I never meant to push you. Can't you spare me just this once? We're family! I swear that if you spare me, I'll bring you heaps of offerings for your resting place! You'll want for nothing in the afterlife. I'll also look after our parents on your behalf! Please, I beg of you!" Miranda prostrated herself at Elaine's feet, her head bowed low as she wept with remorse. "I really didn't mean to push you. I was just reaching out to touch your back. But you lost your balance and fell off the cliff! It's not my fault, so don't haunt me. Otherwise, you'll be stuck in limbo and will never be able to go to heaven! Besides, you bear some responsibility too. Why were you sitting on the edge of a cliff with your legs dangling over it? Even if I hadn't pushed you, you might have slipped and fallen on your own! That just proves it was your fate to die there. So, you can't hold me responsible for this!" As her apology proved futile, Miranda attempted to shift the blame onto Elaine. His voice shaking, Gavin added, "Elaine, since you're already dead, you should move on to your next life. Don't sin by taking someone's life. If you do, you might be trapped in the afterlife and unable to reincarnate. If you're struggling to move on due to unresolved grievances, I'll arrange for someone to offer prayers for your soul once I return so that your next life will be a good one." Elaine remained silent, gazing at them mockingly with a half-smile on her face. Gavin clenched his teeth and continued, "Miranda didn't intend for this to happen. She didn't mean to push you, so please don't harm her..." Meanwhile, the viewers in the live stream were utterly astounded. Witnessing the apparent "remorse" of Miranda and Gavin, all the doubts they had previously held were instantaneously dispelled. Now, they were completely convinced that Miranda had indeed attempted to kill Elaine! The viewers commented with disgust: Oh my goodness, and here I thought Miranda was just a little pretentious and hypocritical. I didn't expect her to be so evil. She even attempted murder! I can't believe she pushed Elaine off that cliff. That's unbelievably heartless. Most people can't bring themselves to take another person's life, no matter how much they despise them. But she actually did it! Absolutely. While I might occasionally wish ill upon my enemies, I don't think I could ever actually kill someone with my own hands! Miranda is so evil! I'm furious. How could she? She assumed Elle's identity and enjoyed the life that should've belonged to Elle in the Grant family, and now she even attempted to murder Elle! I can't believe how malicious she is! Does anyone here know anything about the law? Can Miranda be sentenced to death for what she did? It's difficult for her to even get a heavy sentence, much less a death sentence. After all, there isn't video evidence of what she did, and her confession may not be admissible as evidence. Moreover, Elaine didn't sustain any injuries, so it's unlikely she'll get a heavy sentence. If she denies it later on or says that she was speaking illogically due to shock, with no other witnesses, there'll basically be no sentencing at all. The best we can get is her getting three years in prison. I'm so angry! This woman is nothing but trouble! Compared to Miranda pushing Elaine off the cliff, I'm more surprised that Gavin allowed Miranda to do that, and he's even pleading for mercy on her behalf. Elaine is his biological sister! I'm also shocked at Gavin's reaction. You can tell from what he said that he knows Miranda pushed Elaine over the cliff. But here he is still defending Miranda. How can he bring himself to plead with Elaine for mercy? Heck, he might even be involved in this! I feel so bad for Elle. She saved a backstabbing ingrate! Gavin is heartless! Both that scumbag and bitch should just die! Looking at them makes me sick! In the meantime, Miranda remained on her knees, apologizing fervently. "Elaine, please spare me. I really didn't do it on purpose. I was just going to say hello to you, but I lost control of my strength and inadvertently pushed you... I'm really sorry. Please, spare my life. If I'm allowed to live, I can, at the very least, try to make amends for you. Taking my life won't bring you any advantage!" Elaine came to an abrupt halt, her brows furrowing, and then swiftly retreated, pinching her nose in disgust. "What is that smell? It stinks so much," she asked disdainfully. Both Gavin and Miranda froze in place. The very next moment, a putrid stench assaulted Gavin's senses. It was so overwhelmingly foul that it triggered a strong gag reflex in Gavin. Miranda smelled it, too. At that very instant, she could already sense her underwear growing heavy, as if it held a substantial weight. Did I just soil myself? Miranda's face flushed with embarrassment and fear. I did want to poop, but not in such an embarrassing way! I'm utterly humiliated! Miranda bit her lip, her cheeks wet with tears of humiliation. In that moment, Janice rushed over to Elaine, her expression filled with delightful surprise. "Elaine, you're finally back! You were gone for such a long time. Where were you? We were all so worried!" Elaine turned to look at Janice, her face eerily illuminated by the flashlight. Instead of giving a direct response, she asked, "Aren't you afraid of me? They say I'm a ghost." Janice pointed towards Elaine's shadow and replied, "That's not possible. You still have a shadow. The movies say ghosts don't have shadows." Elaine chuckled and shifted the flashlight's beam elsewhere. "Looks like you're smarter than them." Janice giggled and cheekily said, "Thank you for the compliment, Elaine." Elaine tossed two wild rabbits and her dagger to Janice."Go and prepare everything. Just be careful not to lose them, or we won't have dinner tonight." Janice caught the rabbits and dagger and hurriedly asked, "Can I invite Jett and Xavier to join us for dinner?" Elaine nodded in response. "Okay! I'll get dinner ready right away!" Janice happily bounced over to Xavier and Jett before handing them the rabbits. Gavin and Miranda were dumbfounded. They stared at Elaine in disbelief. Elaine isn't a ghost? Gavin anxiously asked, "Elaine, you're not dead? How did you survive the fall from such a height?" He didn't even notice the hint of glee in his eyes. Although he was extremely shocked, he was secretly pleased that she was still alive. After discovering that Miranda had pushed Elaine off a cliff, he promised to keep it a secret and convinced himself that it was Elaine's fate. However, he couldn't escape the feelings of guilt and distress, leaving him distracted throughout the entire day. Now that he knew Elaine was still alive, he felt a huge weight lifted off his shoulders. Miranda yelled, "How is that possible? You fell off the cliff. We even heard you land at the bottom! How can you still be alive after falling from such a height? You must be a ghost! You must be!" Elaine scoffed and sarcastically replied, "I know you want me dead. But it's too bad that the heavens don't want me back right now." Miranda frantically shook her head, her eyes filled with indignation and hatred. "No, that's impossible. You should have died from the fall. Why are you still alive?" Elaine wasn't going to waste her time reasoning with a lunatic. Wearing a half smile, she said, "It doesn't matter if you can't accept it. The fact is that you didn't manage to kill me. But attempted murder is a crime, so you can sit back and wait until I get back at you for this." Fear surfaced in Miranda's eyes as her body started trembling violently. Elaine lowered her gaze and looked at her legs, her expression twisting into one of disgust and mockery. "But before we get to that, you should really clean yourself up. It reeks. It's like a biochemical weapon." She pinched her nose and headed upstream to find a spot to take a bath. A shrill scream filled the air. Miranda lost control and yelled, "Elaine, you'll pay for this! Why did you pretend to be a ghost and frighten me if you didn't die?" She caused me to soil my pants in front of everybody. How am I supposed to face everyone now? Although there were only a few people present, she still felt deeply humiliated, wishing she could kill everyone present to silence them or that the ground could swallow her up. Gavin took a couple of steps to the side, increasing the distance between himself and Miranda. He fought the urge to pinch his nose, trying to preserve the last shreds of her dignity. "That's enough for now, Miranda. Go clean yourself up and change." Miranda looked at him with reddened eyes. "Gavin, why are you standing so far away from me? Do you find me disgusting?" she asked, furious. After pondering for a few seconds, he shook his head. "No, I don't." Miranda bit her lip. "Then why are you standing so far away?" Holding his breath, Gavin approached her, grasped her arm, and helped her up from the ground. Due to the substantial amount of waste, her underwear was unable to contain it all. As soon as Miranda stood up, the feces tumbled to the ground, with even some blood visible amidst the mess. When she had defecated on herself, the hard stools had caused a tear in her anus, resulting in substantial bleeding. However, she had been so frightened earlier that she hadn't noticed the pain. "Ahh!" Mortified, Miranda let out a scream as she stomped her foot and pushed Gavin away.Unfortunately, more waste tumbled out when she did. Overwhelmed with nausea, Gavin quickly suggested, "I'll get you a fresh set of clothes. Head to the river to clean yourself up." This would finally grant him some respite from both her and the unbearable odor. Biting her lip, Miranda dashed to the river and leaped in, driven by her embarrassment. Meanwhile, Janice and the others were preparing to make their way to the river to clean the rabbits when they witnessed Miranda plunging into the river. They froze in their tracks. Jett proposed, "Let's gather firewood first before going upstream to clean the rabbits." All of them nodded in agreement. They proceeded upstream, carefully avoiding the soiled trail Miranda had left behind, and only stopped when they could no longer see her. The onlookers were all mocking Miranda: Hahaha! That's hilarious! Miranda was so scared that she soiled her pants! How embarrassing! Man, I bet she wants to leave planet Earth right now! She only soiled her pants because she's guilty! Gavin really does love Miranda. The others can't even bear to get close to her due to the stench, but he stays right by her side. I wish them both eternal happiness! That b*tch deserves it! This humiliation is just a light punishment for what she tried to do to Elle. I hope Elle won't let her off the hook once filming is over. Upstream, Elaine had finished her bath and was on her way back to rejoin the others. She hadn't gone far before she encountered Janice and the group, who had just relocated everything. Janice explained why they moved, and Elaine nodded in approval. She then instructed them to proceed with cleaning the rabbits and not worry about the two individuals farther down the river. After the rabbits were cleaned, Elaine roasted them over the fire. Once they finished dinner, Janice and the other two performed for Elaine to liven up the atmosphere. Gavin and Miranda, who were downstream, experienced a mix of emotions as they listened to the cheerful atmosphere coming from upstream. Miranda, especially, was consumed by anger and fear. She nestled in Gavin's embrace and sobbed. "Gavin, what will I do if Elaine accuses me when we get out of here? You can't testify for her. If she sues me, please tell everyone that she's making false accusations. Don't say that I pushed her, okay? There were only three of us at the scene. As long as we don't confess, she will be seen as making baseless accusations!" Gavin frowned. Miranda wrapped both her arms around his neck and forced him to look into her tear-filled eyes. "Gavin, I don't want to go to jail. It's filled with dangerous criminals. If I go to jail, I will surely die in there. Are you going to stand by and watch me die?" she implored tearfully. Gavin promptly reassured her, saying, "There, there. Don't cry. I would never let anyone harm you. You saved my life, and I will offer you my unwavering support. I won't let you end up in jail. You haven't done anything wrong, so no one can imprison you." Miranda's tears transformed into a smile as she pressed her cheek against his chest. "Thank you, Gavin. I love you!" The online commenters expressed disbelief: Wow, so pushing someone off a cliff isn't a crime? Mr. Grant, your sense of morality astonishes me. I'm so disgusted I'm going to vomit. These two individuals have such twisted morals! That woman must be sent to jail! Gavin should also be punished for being an accomplice! On the seventh day, Elaine was the first to wake up, as usual. When she went to the river to wash up, her eyes inadvertently wandered into the distance and caught sight of something on the water's surface. As she was too far away, she couldn't see clearly what it was. She lingered by the river for a while, and the object gradually increased in size. Eventually, she was able to make out what it was. It was a cruise ship!To be precise, it was the cruise ship that had brought them here. It seems like the production crew has finally sorted out their issues, remembered that they left us behind in the forest, and sent people to rescue us!
