The Heiress' Savage Comeback

Chapter 495 I Hate All Of Them Equally

Elaine Caldwell arrived home alone from the hospital, only to find her parents and three older brothers celebrating Miranda Grant's birthday. Miranda was the very person who had caused Elaine's hospitalization. Anger surged through Elaine. She walked forward, reached out, and grabbed Miranda by her hair, then forcefully pushed her face into the cake. Yoel Grant, Elaine's eldest brother, scolded, "Have you lost your mind? Apologize to Miranda immediately!" Elaine slapped him across the face. "Screw you! Keep your mouth shut!" "What has gotten into you?" demanded Quentin Grant, her second eldest brother. Elaine struck him with the back of her hand. "You should keep quiet too!" Gavin Grant, the youngest of her three older brothers, attempted to speak. Slap! He held his cheek, his face contorted with anger. "I didn't say anything! Why did you slap me?" Elaine chuckled coldly. "I'll hit you if I want to. Do I even need a reason?" "You..." He was so infuriated that he couldn't speak.Their father, Frederick Grant, was about to explode in anger when Elaine spat at him and said, "I don't want to hear anything from you, so shut up." Then, she picked up a drink from the table and splashed it all over her mother, Yelena Lawson. "No one gets left out. Unlike you guys, I'm not one to be biased and play favorites." Everyone was shocked. None of them had expected Elaine, who had been trying her best to please them just three months ago, to wake up from a three-month-long coma and start hitting and scolding them like a madwoman. Elaine was Frederick and Yelena's biological daughter. She had been accidentally switched at birth with the nanny's daughter. It was only a year ago that the family had discovered the truth and brought Elaine back. However, reluctant to part with Miranda, whom they had raised for nineteen years, they wanted her to continue living with them. Worried that Elaine would have a difficult time, they had showered Miranda with twice as much attention while neglecting their own daughter. Miranda was skilled at deception. Through her constant scheming, the Grant family grew to despise Elaine. Then, three months ago, Miranda had pushed Elaine off a five-meter-high stage. Even though Elaine had been covered in blood, the family had ignored her and rushed to comfort the frightened Miranda instead. To make matters worse, they had even trampled on Elaine while running to Miranda. All five of them trampled on me, causing my injuries to worsen. After that, I slipped into a coma. Elaine composed herself and glanced at the others before finally fixing her gaze on Miranda, who subconsciously trembled and hid behind Yoel in fear. Then, she sneered and said, "We can't both live here. If you want me to stay, throw her out immediately, and never let her set foot in our house again." I've tried getting along with them and have done everything I could to integrate myself into the family. I've shown them kindness in various ways, hoping they would see the good in me and accept me as part of the family. However, they're just a bunch of mindless idiots. They would rather abandon their own flesh and blood and fuss over that fake. I've given up. I have no way of making them like me, but I can make them all hate me. They have made me unhappy, so I'll make them even more miserable! Frederick snarled, "Miranda will always be our precious daughter, and this will be her home as long as we're alive!" "Why are you so cruel? Miranda has always been good to you. Why do you keep picking on her and even try to kick her out of the house?" Gavin piped up. Elaine slapped him again. "You've gone too far, Elaine. I'm going to teach you a lesson!" Livid, Gavin sprang to his feet and prepared to strike her. The others also snapped to their senses and stood up, ready to join him. We must teach this ungrateful wretch a lesson and make her obey. Otherwise, we'll be utterly humiliated! Although they outnumbered her, Elaine fought dirty and was very wild. She spat at them, kicked them in their groins, and threw anything she could get her hands on at them. In the end, even the four men were no match for someone as physically weak as her! Taking advantage of the chaos, Elaine dashed up the stairs. As she ran, she called out, "Since you don't intend to kick Miranda out of the house, I'll leave. From now on, I'll sever all ties with this family and have nothing to do with any of you anymore! If we ever meet again, don't tell anyone you know me or say hello to me. It'll bring me bad luck." She sprinted to her room, retrieved her ID card, and then jumped out of the window. The window was quite high off the ground as she was on the second floor. However, having trained in martial arts, she didn't find the distance a problem. Meanwhile, Miranda was hugging Yelena and crying inconsolably in the living room. "I've always wanted to have a good relationship with Elaine. Whenever something nice happens, she's the first person I think of to share it with. I never thought she would be so unaccepting of me. Mom, Dad, I should leave this house. After all, Elaine is your biological daughter. No matter what she's like, your blood still runs in her veins. As for me, I'm just an outsider. I'll go and plead with her now. Even if it means getting on my knees, I'll have no regrets if I can get her to come back and be a good daughter to both of you on my behalf." She spoke in such a sincere tone that the Grant family was both distressed and moved. "Stop talking nonsense. To me, you'll always be my daughter. Anyone else but you can leave the family," insisted Yelena. Frederick added, "How can that wicked Elaine compare to you? Even if she returns, she'll only cause chaos in our family and won't respect or care for us! She even dared to strike her own parents, which is absolutely outrageous!" "Her only purpose for existing is to bring you, a kind-hearted angel, into our family so that we can have a good-natured and sensible sister," said Gavin. Miranda chewed on her lip, her expression troubled. "But Grandpa left thirty percent of the company's shares to Elaine before he passed away. What if she uses that to cause trouble at the company?" Frederick frowned and replied, "The shares are indeed a problem. However, since she has chosen to leave the family, it is clear that we cannot allow her to take what rightfully belongs to us. I will gather a team and search for her tomorrow to retrieve those shares." At the entrance of a hotel, Elaine crossed her arms and leaned casually against the doorframe. A Maybach pulled up slowly, and a strikingly handsome man stepped out of the car. Standing at almost six feet three inches tall, he possessed a fit physique, perfect facial features, and exuded an air of authority and aloofness. He was Theodore Frost, the head of Frost Group and the wealthiest man in Horington. Elaine stepped forward and blocked his path. He stopped, his icy gaze flicking towards her."Mr. Frost, I would like to negotiate a deal with you. I hold thirty percent of Grant Group's shares, and I would like to sell them all to you," she said before he could say a word. The Grants had once been the wealthiest family in Horington. Although Frost Group had taken over that position, the power and influence of the Grant family should not be underestimated. The two companies had always been competitors, but if Theodore managed to acquire thirty percent of Grant Group's shares, it would only be a matter of time before he gained control of the company. Theodore, with a stern expression, narrowed his eyes upon hearing her proposal and began to study her intently. Seeing his suspicion, she took out her ID card and showed it to him. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Elaine Caldwell, the real granddaughter of the Grant family. I believe you are aware that my grandfather left thirty percent of Grant Group's shares to his true granddaughter." He glanced at her ID card and raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Follow me." She followed him to the presidential suite on the top floor of the hotel. Once inside the room, he got straight to the point and asked, "How much do you want for your shares?" "Thirty million," she replied. He stopped in his tracks, surprise evident in his eyes as he stared at her for a long moment. "Ms. Caldwell, do you know what you are saying?" "I know exactly what I am saying. I want thirty million." Narrowing his eyes, he responded, "You should think carefully before speaking. I do not have time to play games with you." "I am not playing games. I am serious. As long as you are willing to buy the shares, I can transfer them to you at any time," she replied earnestly. "Do you know how much Grant Group is worth?" he asked in a low voice. She nodded solemnly and replied, "I do. It is worth about thirty billion." As the former wealthiest family in Horington, the company's market value was anything but low. "It is worth approximately thirty billion, yet you are selling your thirty percent of shares for only thirty million? Are you joking with me?" She answered calmly, "I am not joking. I am only asking for thirty million in cash, and I would like to sign an additional contract with you." Raising an eyebrow, he motioned for her to continue. "The Grants will definitely seek revenge on me, so I want you to ensure my safety. And most importantly... I hope to see a change in ownership of Grant Group within a year. Although they are no longer the richest family in Horington, their wealth runs deep. If someone wants to target Grant Group and bankrupt the Grant family, they will have to pay a high price. Whether it turns out to be profitable or not depends on your methods, Mr. Frost." Slightly shocked by her request, he inquired curiously, "Your grandfather was kind enough to leave you thirty percent of the company's shares, yet you want to destroy Grant Group. Aren't you afraid he won't be able to rest in peace?" A hint of disdain glinted in her eyes. "I want those from that family who have passed away to find no peace, and for the living ones to live with lifelong regret." Everyone thinks my grandfather left me those shares because he loved me, but no one knows I forced that old man to give them to me. The entire Grant family is corrupt, and that disgusting old man was the worst of them all! Theodore did not ask any more questions. He immediately had his lawyer print out a contract and send it over. Elaine signed the contract as well as the share transfer agreement. Once that was done, he promptly had someone transfer the money to her. It was only after signing the agreement that she suddenly remembered something very important. "Mr. Frost, may I make another request?" "Go ahead. You have the right to make a request at any time. However, I have the right to refuse," he responded, leaving her momentarily speechless. Finally, she said, "That was presumptuous of me. I will take my leave now." Businessmen have principles. I cannot add another request to a completed deal. She stood up and prepared to leave. "Why don't you tell me what it is, Ms. Caldwell? Perhaps I will agree to it."
