The Heiress' Savage Comeback
The match came to a sudden halt as Andrew and Jodie were thrown from their horses. Their captain, assessing the situation, quickly restructured the team's formation. He could discern the animosity Jodie harbored towards the two women on the opposing team. However, their prowess far exceeded that of his team. Instead of gaining control, they lost possession of the ball. Consequently, he instructed Jodie and Andrew to focus on the two weakest opponents and keep Zac distracted. Their primary objective was to handle Simone and Bailey if they hoped to turn the tide. Jodie, however, merely nodded in response to the captain's orders, not taking them seriously. "Alright!" she responded, and the match resumed. At first, she did try to restrict the two and persistently pestered Zac with Andrew's help. However, the other four players underperformed. They not only failed to stop Simone and Bailey but also allowed them to score two goals. Jodie was filled with frustration. She had thought she was part of a championship team, but reality proved otherwise. The match was nearing its end, yet both Bailey and Simone remained unscathed by the other four players' tactics. Victory seemed increasingly elusive, filling her with regret and embarrassment. Had she known the outcome, she wouldn't have made such audacious claims. With victory slipping away, she decided to forfeit the match and focus on Simone. When Simone once again stole the ball from one of Jodie's teammates, Jodie and Andrew charged at her. Seeing this, the other players rushed to Jodie's aid. Zac and his teammates did the same, aiming to support Simone. This resulted in both teams converging, creating a chaotic scene.Jodie feigned an attempt to seize the ball, but instead, she swung her stick at Simone's horse's leg. With the match nearing its end, she was indifferent to the possibility of being penalized and dismissed from the field. She was already under heavy criticism online and was indifferent to any additional backlash. Her sole focus was to knock Simone and Tina off their horses, stage an accident by trampling over them, and ideally, disfigure them. The thought thrilled her. Simone, however, was vigilant and thwarted Jodie's attack, swiftly positioning her stick to block Jodie's swing. After deflecting Jodie's attack, Simone confronted her. "What's the matter? Your covert tactics failed, so now you resort to blatant fouls?" Jodie cursed inwardly, surprised by Simone's quick reaction. She had almost succeeded, but upon hearing Simone's accusation, she feigned innocence. "What are you talking about? I made a mistake. It wasn't intentional." Her words, however, were met with skepticism, not only from the spectators and participants but also from Andrew. Simone scoffed. "We're not fools. Whether you admit it or not is irrelevant. You've already lost." With that, she skillfully snatched the ball from Jodie's teammate. Simone intended to advance with the ball, but Jodie blocked her path. Seeing this, her teammates followed suit and encircled her. Jodie, determined, blocked Simone's path and attempted to strike her horse again. This time, Simone didn't intervene. She deliberately allowed Jodie to hit the horse's leg, causing it to cry out in pain, shocking everyone. Everyone was concerned for Simone and Tina. Suddenly, Simone was seen gripping the reins tightly, seemingly trying to control the horse. Unexpectedly, the horse reared up, its legs poised to kick Jodie. The horse appeared not only intelligent but also vengeful. After being struck by Jodie, it seemed to retaliate by kicking her. Only Bailey noticed that Simone had used a training technique to provoke this reaction from the horse. Jodie had been riding sideways when she blocked Simone's path. After striking Simone's horse, she moved a few steps away. She planned to wait for Simone and Tina to fall and then seize the opportunity to trample them. To her surprise, the horse remained steady. Instead of bucking Simone and Tina off, it retaliated and kicked towards Jodie. If Jodie were to be hit by the horse's hooves, she would not only be thrown off her horse but could also sustain severe injuries. Instinctively, she turned and pulled Andrew, who was riding behind her, using him as a shield. Perhaps due to adrenaline and a stroke of luck, Jodie found the strength to pull Andrew in front of her. Andrew watched in disbelief as his beloved sister, whom he had cherished for years, used him as a human shield in a moment of crisis. The suddenness of the situation left him defenseless and unable to resist. Jodie's timing was impeccable. Andrew was now in front of her, and when she leaned back, the horse's hooves landed directly on him. He felt a searing pain in his back, as if it were about to burst. He spat out blood and screamed in agony. The force of the impact caused both him and Jodie to fall off the horse. To make matters worse, he landed first, and Jodie fell on top of him, exacerbating his injuries. At that moment, the signal marking the end of the competition sounded, and Simone's team emerged victorious. However, all attention was on Andrew. The referee and medical personnel rushed to his aid without delay. The standby doctor also quickly attended to him. "His injuries are severe, with multiple fractures in his back. He needs to undergo CT scans and cortical bone trajectory to determine the extent of the injuries. We also need to check for any displacement or fractures in the shoulder blade and vertebrae. If his shoulder blades are displaced, shattered, or if there are injuries to the cervical or spinal vertebrae, the situation will be critical, requiring immediate surgery." Another doctor added, "He also has fractures in his arms and legs." Their diagnosis left everyone in shock. No one had anticipated such a turn of events. They couldn't help but sigh, realizing Andrew's misfortune. It was an undeserved disaster! It was clear that Jodie had intentionally hurt Simone's horse, and she should have faced the consequences. Who would have thought that she would be so ruthless as to use her own brother as a shield? If Andrew had withdrawn from the competition after his earlier fall and ignored Jodie's words, he wouldn't have faced such a calamity. Due to the severity of his injuries, the medical staff carefully lifted him onto a stretcher to transport him to the hospital. As he was being lifted, his eyes were filled with pain and confusion. He looked at Jodie with disbelief and an unprecedented coldness. Despite the excruciating pain, he managed to ask her, "Why did you do this to me?" He had always protected her, but when it mattered most, she had betrayed him. Why had she done that?
