I Married My Ex's Billionaire Uncle

Chapter 267

Albert’s message to the Sinclair Family was merciless: “I wanted the Sinclair Family to humble themselves before my sister, but instead, you chose to bully her. Since that’s the path you’ve taken, don’t blame me for being ruthless!” Not long after, the Sinclair Family’s business partners began calling to terminate their contracts. Mr. Sinclair’s phone buzzed incessantly as panic set in. He slumped onto the sofa, his body weak and trembling. His gaze locked onto Liza, filled with fury and desperation. “Liza! You—!” Sensing the escalating tension, the other guests quickly made their excuses and left. Soon, only Helen, Liza, and the Sinclair Family remained in the house. Victoria, upon hearing that Serena’s contract had been terminated and the Sinclair Family business was under siege, could no longer maintain her façade. Her mask of civility crumbled. “Liza! Fine, if you don’t want to help, but why go so far? Are you trying to destroy the Sinclair Family entirely?” Liza’s lips curved into a cold, mocking smile. “Yes. Watching all of you squirm like this brings me immense satisfaction.” Grandma , shaking with rage, lost control entirely. Her vision blurred with anger as she grabbed a cup from the table and hurled it at Liza. “Liza! You wretched thing! Why are you even alive? You should’ve died with your mother long ago, you jinx!” Before the cup could hit its target, George stepped forward and caught it effortlessly. Liza’s footsteps halted, and her expression turned icy. Her voice was sharp and unwavering. “Sorry to disappoint you, but I’ll be alive long after you’re gone.”George’s gaze darkened. Without hesitation, he flung the cup back. It shattered on the wall just inches from Grandma , making her pale with fear. His voice carried authority. “Destroy everything!” With his command, the bodyguards sprang into action, wreaking havoc in the Sinclair Family’s once-pristine living room. Mr. Sinclair attempted to intervene but was swiftly overpowered and sent sprawling to the floor with a single kick. “Stop them! Bastards!” he roared in desperation, but his words carried no weight. Serena, cowering in the corner, trembled as tears streamed down her face. “Sister, this is your home too! How can you…” Liza stood calmly in the courtyard, her arms crossed and a playful, almost menacing smile on her face.“You’re right—it’s my house. And since it’s mine, I can do whatever I want with it. George!” Her tone turned icy as she added, “Someone here cursed me to die. Let’s see who meets their end first.” “Yes, ma’am!” George responded without hesitation. He stormed toward the Sinclair Family, his demeanor radiating lethal intent. Grandma , overwhelmed with terror, convulsed and fainted on her chair. Serena’s voice quivered as she cried out in desperation. “Sister! Grandma is your family! Are you really going to let her die? You’re unfilial!” Liza didn’t bother to turn back. Her sneer was the only acknowledgment she gave before walking out the door, leaving chaos in her wake. “She’s not my grandmother,” Liza said coldly, her voice barely above a whisper. The so-called old madam of the Sinclair Family had never treated her as kin. From a young age, she had harbored hatred for Liza, going as far as instructing Victoria to abandon her in the countryside. If the Sinclair Family never treated her as their own, why should she show them even a shred of mercy? … Gavin stood waiting patiently by the door. As Liza and Helen walked out together, their eyes fell on him. Helen studied the man briefly before realization dawned. Was this the bodyguard Liza had mentioned? No, this man wasn’t just a bodyguard… “I never expected the esteemed President Gavin to have so much free time that he’d disguise himself as a bodyguard just to accompany someone like me,” Helen remarked, her tone dripping with sarcasm. Gavin’s gaze remained calm and indifferent. “And yet the eldest daughter of the Hoskins Family seems equally idle, attending a banquet like this.” Helen scoffed, folding her arms. “Since you were already here, why didn’t you step in? Do you think that pack of hyenas from the Sinclair Family would’ve dared to bully Liza if you had made yourself known? You’re terrible at this whole bodyguard thing. Your presence was utterly pointless!” Liza tried to intervene. “Wait—” Helen cut her off, her frustration building. “You just stood by and let her get bullied. Aren’t bodyguards supposed to protect their charges? Instead, you hid off to the side, doing nothing!” Liza raised her hand again. “Actually—” “That old witch even tried to hit Liza! Are you just going to let that slide? Shouldn’t you be seeking justice for her?” Helen pressed on. “Sister, listen…” Liza tried once more. But Helen wouldn’t let up. “Liza, stop making excuses for him! This so-called bodyguard didn’t do his job properly at all!”Finally, Liza managed to interject, albeit awkwardly. “Sister, he already avenged me.” Helen froze, a look of confusion crossing her face. “What?” Liza clarified with a small smile. “Apart from Victoria and Serena, some of the servants in the Sinclair Family often bullied me and my mother too. He… took care of it.” The information left Helen momentarily speechless. She turned to Liza in disbelief. “Are you telling me that he… went and dealt with them?” Liza nodded calmly, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Initially, she had intended to handle the matter herself, but given the circumstances, she had asked Gavin to act on her behalf. Without hesitation, Gavin had gone and dealt with every servant who had mistreated her or her late mother. Helen blinked, genuinely surprised.Liza was as direct and unrestrained as ever. But then a thought crossed her mind, and she cast a cautious glance at Gavin.Wouldn’t it be problematic if he discovered just how blunt and, well… violent, Liza could be?
