I Married My Ex's Billionaire Uncle

Chapter 222

Mrs. Stone stood her ground, her face contorted with indignation. "Liza! Don’t think I can’t deal with you just because you’ve got some wild man on your side! I am—" "Enough! Stop this nonsense!" Mr. Stone’s sudden outburst silenced her. His expression darkened with fury as he glared at his wife. "Who are you calling a wild man? Do you even know who you’re talking about? Watch your tongue and stop spouting such foolishness!" Mrs. Stone froze, a look of disbelief and alarm crossing her face. She instinctively stepped back, hiding behind her husband as fear flickered in her eyes. Ignoring her, Mr. Stone quickly turned toward Henry, his demeanor changing drastically. His expression softened into one of deference, and his tone became almost pleading. "Mr Henry Stone, please forgive her. My wife doesn’t know what she’s saying. She spoke out of ignorance and didn’t mean any disrespect. Please don’t take her words to heart." The room fell silent as everyone watched Mr. Stone’s uncharacteristic display of submission. Shock rippled through the onlookers. Mrs. Stone’s jaw dropped as she whispered indignantly, "Who is this man? Why are you so afraid of him? He’s just some nobody—" "Do you still not understand when to stop?" Mr. Stone snapped, his glare silencing her once more. Henry, exuding a commanding presence, crossed his arms and smirked. His voice was cold as he said, "Liam, what kind of family are you running here? It’s one thing for them not to recognize me, but for them to call me a ‘wild man’? Is that how you treat guests? Are you trying to strip me of my dignity?" Beads of sweat appeared on Mr. Stone’s forehead as he trembled. "Mr Henry, I deeply apologize. It’s all a misunderstanding—" Henry cut him off with a scoff. "A misunderstanding, you say? Don’t you have a business partnership with the main Stone Family?" Mr. Stone visibly flinched. "Yes, Mr Henry, we do." "Not anymore," Henry declared coldly. "Consider the collaboration terminated. Your wife and son dared to insult me, and I will not let that go unpunished. If you think the Stone Family tolerates disrespect, you’re gravely mistaken." Mr. Liam’s knees nearly buckled, his body trembling as he clutched the edge of a nearby chair for support. "Second Young Master, please reconsider. The contract is already signed, and the project is in progress. If you pull out now, it will hurt your own interests as well!" Henry let out a dry laugh. "The Stone Family won’t miss the peanuts we’ve invested in your project. It’s nothing to us, just a trivial loss. You, however, will lose everything." Desperation washed over Mr. Stone as he turned toward Liza. His voice wavered as he said, "Liza, I’ve always admired you. My son was foolish, and I’ve already reprimanded him for his actions. I assure you, he won’t trouble you again. Please, speak to the Second Young Master on our behalf. We’ve never intentionally made things difficult for you, have we?" Liza looked at him with an expression that was hard to read. She thought about the situation carefully. Henry’s actions would undoubtedly affect Gavin’s business, and she had no desire to let Gavin suffer financial losses over this. Just as she was about to say something, Mrs. Stone’s shrill voice pierced the air. "Liam, have you lost your mind? Why are you groveling to that woman? She’s nothing but a shameless vixen who seduced a man and got someone to attack Brandon! You’re lowering yourself for her? Who does she think she is?!" Liam’s lips turned pale! Liza’s eyes glinted coldly as she withdrew her initial thoughts. Her lips curled into a mocking smile. “Uncle Liam, it’s not that I’m unwilling to help, but your wife has been calling me a vixen nonstop. How can you expect me to assist someone who insults me like that? I think it’s better if I leave.” Liam’s face turned red with frustration, his whole body trembling from suppressed anger. His gaze shifted sharply to Mrs. Stone, clearly furious. Mrs. Stone, undeterred by the tension, stomped her foot and barked, “Liam! That man even dared to punch Brandon. Are you seriously going to just sit there and take it? You need to—” Before she could finish, Henry turned his sharp gaze on her, a smirk of arrogance spreading across his face. “Why shouldn’t I hit your son?” he retorted. “I’ve even punched Gavin before, so what makes your son special?” His tone carried a casual indifference, as if the matter was of no consequence to him. He shrugged slightly, adding, “Honestly, I held back earlier. If I’d used my full strength, my hand might’ve hurt.” Liam’s face drained of all color, and he stumbled backward, his legs giving out beneath him. He collapsed to the floor, his expression a mix of fear and disbelief.“You foolish woman!” Liam finally exploded, glaring at his wife with fury. “This whole mess is Brandon’s fault. He was the one who betrayed Liza for Serena! She’s done nothing wrong, yet you insist on provoking her! From now on, if you see her, go the other way!” His voice grew more frantic as he continued, “Do you even know who this man is? That’s Henry, the youngest son of the Stone Family and Gavin’s younger brother! Do you have any idea what kind of trouble you’ve brought on us?” Mrs. Stone’s defiance wavered as her face twisted with shock, though she still clung stubbornly to her indignation. “And you,” Liam snapped, now turning his anger on Serena, “you keep acting like some innocent victim. If it weren’t for your scheming, we wouldn’t have ended up offending someone as important as Henry! Your mother is a homewrecker, and clearly, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. You’re just as despicable as she is!” Serena’s face turned pale, then flushed with embarrassment. Her lips trembled as she tried to speak. “Uncle Liam, I—” Before she could finish, the manager of Fragrant Hotel appeared, his professional demeanor slightly strained. “I apologize, but Fragrant Hotel maintains a certain standard for its clientele. We strive to provide a peaceful dining experience for all our guests. I must ask you to leave immediately.”
