I Married My Ex's Billionaire Uncle

Chapter 19

Liza's POV Don't thank me,I said in a smooth voice. After all, that guitar is pretty unique. It took a lot of work to get it. I'll be kind and give you a 10% deal because you like it so much. Brandon and Serena shared a knowing look. I ignored them and continued. The guitar costs 1.2 million rupees. Are you going to pay with a credit card or a check? Silence filled the air. Suddenly, Brandons face turned dark followed by confusion. Liza, what did you just say? A smile was still evident on my face I told you it cost 1.2 million. Young Master Brandon, please go ahead and pay. Serena quickly stepped forward. Hey, sister, what are you up to? Brandon is very close to our family. How could you expect him to pay. Serena thought she was the only one good at acting all sweet while hoarding an evil thought in mind. I just gave her a dish of her own medicine and she couldn't even take it. I almost let out a burst of laughter. What does he have to do with the Sinclair family that keeps him from paying for something he wants? Business is business, even when it comes to family. Since I paid a lot of money for that guitar, do you think I should just give it away for free? That's what Serena always does with Brandon. Whenever he wants something, she gives it to him for free. And he usually returned the favor. If that's how things work, why have a shop? The shop would definitely close down if Brandon comes here a few more times to get things for free. Serena became red in the face. You…, she trailed off. I signaled Mr. Peter and he moved closer to me instantly. Get the records out. I'd like to know exactly how many things Brandon has taken from the store without paying. Brandons face lost all its color. He was clearly in pain at the weight of my dare. Mr. Peter brought out the records and within minutes I was in shock to see how many things Brandon had taken over the years. I glanced up at him. Brandon, everything you took is worth more than 30 million dollars. Do you have any idea how much our shop makes every year? Some of those instruments were so rare that we couldn't buy them. Still we went out of our way to get them for you, and you didn't even think twice about taking them. Aren't you ashamed of yourself? In defense, he said. I didn't do it. What?!I exclaimed. You didn't? Then who did? When he didn't say a word, I pointed to the computer screen, my voice sharp. Are you sure these records aren't real? The people who work at our shop went out of their way to make fake entries just to frame you?Mr. Peter spoke up this time. Eldest Miss, I promise that every record is correct in my honor. He turned to Brandon. Young Master Brandon, your family's wealth should make it easy for you to pay the 30 million dollars. Don't forget we have cameras up and running. We can get the video of you getting these things if we need to. I felt a pull on my sleeves and it turned to see it was Serena. Sister, please don't make things hard for Brandon. All those things, he got them from me. I gave him permission before he took anything. Oh, really? You gave them to him? Does that make things easy or does that make you his accomplice?I asked with a sarcastic tone. I turned away from her and had a slip printed before stretching it at her. You can pay for them since you personally gave them away. That's the money you owe right there! Serena refused to take the bill from me as she stared at it as though it was too hot to touch. She stuttered. How…how am I going to return 30 million dollars? If you were allowed to give away shop property, you should have been ready for what would happen. Or did your words of kindness mean nothing? Serenas eyes were filled with tears but I wasn't moved. I knew who she was and I knew she was doing all of that to gain my sympathy. Why are you so mean, sister? She sounded close to tears but I didn't care. Nobody can run a successful business like this, giving away things worth more than 30 million won as if it were a charity? Do you think that the Sinclair family has an infinite amount of money? For the first time in years of knowing Serena to be smart and cunning, now I felt she was more like a fool. I…,Serena stuttered, her nails digging into her skin. Suddenly, she wiped her face and looked up at me. Yes, sister. I'll pay for it but please don't tell Father. Now I saw the reason for all her fears. The marriage between the Sinclair and the Stone family was meant to be a good things for both families and their business, not a bad thing for the family's finances. She must have thought about how to face father's anger when he found out that she had been giving the companys property away for free. I nodded in acknowledgement and held up three fingers. Three days. You have just three days to pay everything and don't forget the interest. Serena looked genuinely scared now. She turned to Brandon who had been silent all along and he avoided her gaze. Everything was amusing and I decided to tease them a little. You really have a bad taste in guys. Then I turned to Brandon. Since our engagement is over, I'm sure you and Serena are back together. Shouldn't you help her out now as a man? People in the crowd started to talk again, this time at Brandon and Serenas foolishness. Brandon felt embarrassed so he quickly brought out his card to pay. When the payment was done, he pulled Serena away and they left.I laughed to my satisfaction before deciding to call it a day. I picked up my purse, ready to leave the store when I stopped in my tracks at the familiar figure leaning against a wall in the corner of the shop. Gavin.
