I Married My Ex's Billionaire Uncle
Lady Edna’s sharp gaze was laced with fury as she clenched her teeth. “Gavin, it has come to this, and yet you’re still protecting her? Audrey’s face is disfigured, and Liza, the culprit, is standing right here! On top of that, she dared to say so many awful things!” Before she could finish, Gavin raised his hand, silencing her mid-sentence. George stepped forward and placed a laptop on the table, his expression smug and mocking. Gavin’s cold gaze swept the room. “My wife is kind-hearted and incapable of such actions. And even if something happened, Audrey brought it on herself. She could’ve chosen to provoke anyone, but she chose Liza. Now, Miss Audrey, are you sure you want to keep pursuing this matter?” “Kind-hearted?” Audrey’s face turned ghostly pale, and she bit her lip in panic. Lady Edna and Madam Thelma shot up in outrage. “What nonsense! Are you saying Audrey deliberately provoked Liza? Audrey is such a sweet and obedient child!” Madam Thelma’s voice rose with indignation as she added, “Audrey likes you! She’s the one who deserves to stand by your side. But instead, you married that vicious woman who stirs up trouble wherever she goes. You’ve brought shame to the Stone Family!” Before they could continue their tirade, George pressed a button, and the laptop screen lit up with a video. Audrey froze. A wave of dread crashed over her, spreading through her veins like ice. Gavin’s smile was chilling as he spoke, his voice laced with mockery. “The show ends here, Miss Audrey. Do you really want to keep pretending?” The casual tone of his voice felt sharper than a blade as it sliced through Audrey’s composure. Her hands trembled uncontrollably, and her eyes darted toward the laptop in disbelief. Does he know? Did he figure out everything?“No, that’s impossible,” she muttered to herself, her heart pounding wildly. George pushed the laptop closer, forcing everyone to see the video playing on the screen. The footage showed the confrontation between Liza and Audrey. At first, Audrey’s calm arrogance was obvious as she faced Liza. Though the footage lacked sound, her smug, venomous expression was unmistakable. The contrast to the innocent façade she wore in front of others was shocking. As Liza turned to leave, the resentment in Audrey’s eyes was clear. In the next moment, she slammed her head forcefully into the wall, blood streaking down her face. The video captured every detail. Liza hadn’t even touched Audrey. Not a single finger. The room plunged into a suffocating silence. Lady Edna and Madam Thelma paled, their anger crumbling into disbelief. Audrey’s face drained of all color as her body began to shake.Clap. Clap. Clap. Gavin clapped his hands slowly, the sound filled with mockery. “Miss Audrey, that was quite the performance. Do you still have the audacity to claim that my wife hurt you?” Audrey’s face crumpled in panic as tears streamed down her cheeks. “I… I must have lost my balance and fallen. I was dizzy after hitting the wall, and in my confusion, I thought Miss Susanza pushed me. I swear, I didn’t mean to blame her!” Gavin’s smirk deepened as if amused by her excuses. Beside him, George handed over a document with a knowing grin. “Here’s the medical report,” Gavin said, his tone laced with disdain. “Though you hit your head, it’s only a minor surface cut. It might look serious, but there’s no concussion or any real injury. Audrey, did you really think you could fool me with such an act?” Audrey clenched her teeth, knowing there was no way out now. Her scheme had been fully exposed, and any further lies would only worsen her situation. Tears poured down as she cried out in desperation, “Brother Gavin, I… I only did this because I like you! I couldn’t accept it when I found out you were married. Miss Susanza may be a good person, but she’s not right for you. I… I did it for your sake!” Her confession was met with silence. Lady Edna’s face darkened, frustration written all over her features. She was furious at Audrey’s impulsive lies but even more annoyed that Gavin refused to compromise for Liza’s sake. Madam Thelma, sensing the situation spiraling out of control, quickly stepped in to smooth things over. “Gavin, Audrey just acted foolishly. She’s still a good child at heart. Now that the truth is clear and Miss Susanza is unharmed, why don’t we put this matter to rest? It would be unfortunate if word of this incident spread outside.” Gavin arched an eyebrow, his gaze sharp enough to make everyone tense up. “Put it to rest?” he repeated, his tone cold and unfeeling. A flicker of hope appeared on Audrey’s face. “Yes, Brother Gavin… Let’s forget about this. Miss Susanza is fine now, so—” “Fine,” Gavin interrupted, his agreement bringing visible relief to Audrey. For a brief moment, her shoulders sagged, believing he was going to let her off the hook. Surely Gavin wouldn’t punish her—he was just trying to scare her. But just as her thoughts began to settle, Gavin’s voice echoed through the room, his tone ice-cold. “I heard you wanted to punish my wife,” he said, his gaze locking onto Audrey. “But the truth has shown that she was the one wronged. Those who commit real mistakes should face the consequences.” Audrey froze, her blood running cold. Her eyes widened in terror. What did he mean? Gavin… was he planning to enforce family punishment on her? “No…” she gasped softly, a chill spreading through her entire body as her legs nearly gave out beneath her.
