The Council's Arcane Academy

Chapter 68

Taliyah’s P.O.V. I always thought I had a miserable childhood with a Father that didn’t want me, who didn’t care for me. My heart has broken for my Grandfather and I will do everything in my power to show him that I love him, that I will always be there for him. I will do everything in my power to keep control of that ability. Thinking about Jocelyn, I start to wonder if it only works with a Mate hurting me and before I can think about it I ask “Grandfather, does it only work between Mates?” Eamon asks what I mean and I say “Is it possible that I shut down my feelings when it came to my Family?” Grandfather thinks for a minute and says he has to ask Council-member Armas, because he doesn’t have an answer for me. That is fine by me, I don’t need the answer right now and maybe it is for the better that we don’t have that answer. Then I remember I have another question I need an answer to. “Grandfather, are there any other abilities I should be aware of?” I ask him and I see a strange look on his face, before he nods his head. “There is one more a true Royal can possess, but it has not occurred for centuries. The only one I know of was recorded before the war with the Humans.” I decide to test my theory with the help of Ivory and we show Eamon our view on his cock, the night we mated and marked for the first time. He groans out loud and I know that I was successful. “The ability to show your Mate an image.” I say and Grandfather’s jaw drops. “Drake was able to show me something last night and I didn’t understand how. But I just tested it on Eamon and it worked as you might have heard.” I say with a smirk on my face. Everyone is staring at me, except for Eamon, he is too busy controlling Ace and I put my hand on his knee to calm him down. “Ace, cut it out.” I say and in a split second I realize that I used my authority on him. I grab his face and look at him “Ace, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do that, I just wanted to calm you down. I’m sorry.” I can feel the tears sting my eyes and Eamon pulls me on to his lap, while Ace tells me not to worry, that he knows I didn’t mean to use it. Sitting on his lap with his arms wrapped around me, I feel a whole lot better and I am able to stop myself from crying. Eamon wipes the tears from the corner of my eyes and I put my head against his chest, just enjoying being held by my Mate. I know that we have to get ready, but I don’t want to leave Eamon’s embrace and I snuggle deeper in to his chest. I have never felt this safe or loved in my life and I sigh when Grandmother tells us we better hurry, before the entire Family shows up. Ward chuckles and pulls me out of Eamon’s arms, only to wrap me in his arms. I nuzzle his neck, my eye wanders to his mark and I can’t resist slowly licking it with my tongue. I feel him stiffen, softly a groan escapes his lips and his hands on my ass tighten their grip. “Granddaughter, stop teasing your Mates or we might never get out of here.” Grandmother says and I hide my face even deeper in to Ward’s neck. The others chuckle as Ward pulls me closer to his body “We will finish this tonight, Princess.” I hear him say in my head. I can feel his rock-hard cock pressing against my belly and I can’t wait for this day to be over. He doesn’t put me down until we have left our Quarters and I want to whimper at the loss of his embrace, but he slides an arm around my waist at the same time as Malachay. Ivory is purring in my head and I have to restrain myself from not making the sound out loud. Eamon is walking behind me with Grandfather and Grandmother is leading us towards the elevator. Prince Dante’s P.O.V. My head is running in circles with everything Taliyah told me during breakfast, she is the first Royal in history that has all four abilities. Most true Royals have one ability from birth and a second or third one that can be taught. A true Royal that is born with the authority can learn how to use the mind-link on anyone and vice versa. A true Royal born with hiding emotions or showing images can learn to use the authority and the mind-link. I only have two abilities and I am glad I never inherited my Mother’s ability. I never knew my Mother before my Father broke her for good. I heard the stories from Family and staff, but not once did I see a glimmer of the woman she had once been. My Uncle once told me that every time it happened it took longer for my Father to break through her shield. At first it was hours, but gradually it turned in to days until it was too late. When my Father realized that her shield was never coming down, it broke him and he changed his ways. For my parents thou, it was too late, they never found their way back to each other and in the end it killed them both. I know that the bond between Taliyah and her Mates is a lot stronger, they managed to get through to her in minutes and I know that that is what will never allow her to go down the path my Mother took. Her question if it also works on Family is a valid one and I hope that Armas has an answer for us. It might not be as strong as with a Mate, but it would probably explain a few things to her in the end. The door of the elevator opens up and I see that we are already in the underground garage. Her Guards are waiting by their SUV, while Alaric is waiting for me and his Grandmother at his SUV. Alaric looks anxious and I wonder why that is, after all this is just a formality. I decide to wait until we are in the car to ask him what has him so worried. I don’t want Taliyah to get nervous if it is not necessary. “Okay, spilt it.” My Mate says the second the door closes and I know that she noticed the same thing I did. Alaric is quiet for a moment and then he starts talking. “I believe that Mother knows about Aunt Izabella being the rightful heir. What if she has informed Talon of that fact?” He asks and I have to think on it for a moment, because I don’t know if it would change anything.“Grandson, even if she told him it wouldn’t make a difference. He willingly cheated on Izabella and he was warned of the consequences. He willingly planned for Roger to forcefully mark Taliyah and everyone knows the penalty for that crime. Being Izabella’s fated Mate doesn’t put him above the Law. No one is above the Law, not even a King or a Queen.” I say and I can feel him relaxing at my words.
