The Council's Arcane Academy
Joseph’s p.o.v. Once we get to the clearing, our SUVs are placed in a circle again and Inti gestures me to follow him. We quickly find our guests and Inti puts Jenna in his lap, eager to find out why she can barely speak. Even if she is an Omega her vocabulary should be larger than it is, but maybe there is a reason for her lack of speech. “Oh, Jenna. You are one smart little Wolf.” Inti says. “I know who you are and if you want me to keep it a secret I will.” He smiles at her and we all know that if she asks him to keep it a secret, than he will do just that. Jenna tilts her head to the left and looks at Inti for a moment, before a huge smile appears on her face. “Alpha Inti.” She whispers as she wraps her arms around his neck, her shoulders shaking as she sobs and Inti just holds her in his arms.“Her parents are the Beta couple of Crystal Star Pack, I met her a few weeks ago. During a secret meeting, which completely failed its purpose.” Inti informs us all over the mind-link. Jenna is able to tell us that her parents didn’t name her baby Sister, she doesn’t even know if they had a name picked out and that leaves us with the task of naming Jenna’s baby Sister. Pups are offering all kinds of names, but none gets a response out of Jenna. I try to remember if Inti mentioned the Beta female’s name after he got back from the meeting, but I have no luck in recalling if he did. “How about naming her after your Mom and Dad?” Inti asks and I see a small smile appear on Jenna’s face, she doesn’t say a word as she nods her head. “Okay, than her name will be Faye after your Mom and Jordan after your Dad.” Inti states and Doc writes down a few things. He started a medical file on both girls, he wants to make sure everything is documented and now he can add a name to Faye’s file. Faye is less than two days old and the despite the circumstances, she is in perfect health. “Gamma Joseph, Wolves near the tree line.” I hear in my head and I walk towards the closest SUV to take a look at the Wolves. There are four of them, but not one of them is a Beta or an Alpha. Each of them is smaller than a regular high-ranking Wolf, but one of them holds himself as if he is a high-ranking Wolf. They are only there for a minutes or two and then they disappear into the forest. “Keep an eye out for those Wolves and link me the moment they show up again.” I inform our Warriors through the mind-link, before I head back to keep Inti company. Jenna is playing with other Pups and she seems to get along with each of them, we can even hear her giggle from time to time. They all seem to forget for a while about our situation, just enjoying the sounds of females humming melodies of songs long forgotten. Before lunch the four Wolves have popped up two more times, but not once did they approach us. Inti and I believe that they are looking for someone and maybe they are hoping to spot that person within our convoy. Our Youngsters know to keep Jenna and Faye out of sight, because we don’t know if these are the Wolves that chased their parents and even though none of them have their Wolves yet, they will protect them from harm. Lunch passed without a visit from the four Wolves, but after lunch one of them pops up every hour. It is never the same twice in a row and Griffin is starting to get agitated, almost as if he can feel something is about to happen. “Should we stay here tonight?” Herold asks and I know it is a question that has ran through many minds over the past few hours. What if they are after Jenna and Faye? What if they are looking for a chance to grab one of the unmated females?” Before anyone can answer Herold, we hear paws stomping the ground and they are headed in our direction.“In the SUVs.” Inti says and the female Warriors move to the outside of the circle. Our male Warriors form a barrier between the tree line and the circle of SUVs, while the Pack-members that can’t fight help the Pups and Youngsters get into the SUVs. A loud roar shakes the forest and I wonder which of the four Wolves released it, they just didn’t seem to be capable of it. “There are more Wolves, it sounds as if they are chasing one another.” Inti says through the mind-link. Inti, Herold and I are the last ones to shift to our Wolf form, we spread out to keep an eye on our Pack and the tree line. A flash of silver is seen in the tree line, than we can hear a sickening thud and I wonder who or what collided with a tree. A growl is heard, while a Wolf moves into sight, moving backwards slowly. The Wolf has almost the same dark grey color Mom has, but I can’t tell if it is a male or female yet and then one of the four Wolves comes into view. Ronion growls in his direction, but a flash of silver barrels into the Wolf and together they roll over a few times. Two more Wolves come out of the tree line and one of them bites down on the dark grey Wolf, the other slams the Wolf’s head against a tree. The Wolf is forced to shift back to Human form and a male rushes towards them to place the unconscious female on the back of one of the Wolves. All three make a run for it, but Griffin’s attention is on the silver Wolf and her opponent. He rushes towards her, hell bent on protecting her from danger. “Four Warriors with me.” I hear Inti growl and Griffin barrels into the Wolf, allowing the silver Wolf to get into a better position. We can feel the anger radiate from her and Grifin is smart enough to let her handle this Fool by herself. Herold stays with the SUVs, while some of our male Warriors gather around the fight. We will just make sure that the male Wolf will not get the upper hand, the silver Wolf gets the privilege of ending his life.
