The Council's Arcane Academy
Kaelan’s P.O.V. Dash and I are looking at our Mate as she walks in to the Chamber and he feels damn proud of himself when we realize that Roger hates the smell of a male on her. We listen as she talks to Roger and all of us wonder where she is going with the conversation. The moment she mentions his Mother, his Wolf starts roaring and we know that she has struck a nerve. We are shocked to hear his answer and I wonder what kind of woman would give up her Daughter for her own life. Camden is pacing up and down the room behind me and Amand has his eyes closed to keep control of his Lycan. Kijani and I both keep our eyes on Ynanna and Dash reminds me of the conversation we had yesterday about marking each other. I know that she is right, because right now I wish I could feel her emotions. I send a text to Armas to see if we can forgo with the official procedure, seeing the fact that this is a very unusual situation. Suddenly I see her turning her tablet and within a second a guard walks in telling her she has a call from the Council. She gets up to exit the room and I hear Roger say “Until next time, Beautiful.” Before I can react, one of the guards slams his face in to the table and tells him that he better watch his mouth. I am outside the Chamber to pick her up and make my way back to her room, she has her arms wrapped around my neck as Amand opens the door for us. I sit down on the bed and just hold on to her, whispering in her ear that I have her. I receive a notification on my phone and I hand it to Amand to see what it is about. “Armas talked to the Council about your request and the Council has agreed that this is a different situation, so it is up to the two of you.” Camden asks what it is about and I explain to him that when Ynanna had said she wanted us to mark each other, I was a little reluctant. I tell him that I realized during the interrogation that she was right, I hated not being able to feel her emotions.“I asked Armas if we had to follow procedure or not. After all, we have a situation that is a little different from normal.” Camden smile and says that our situation is everything but normal and that he is glad that the Council agrees with me. “Is Ynanna going to be okay? Kijani, how long did it take last time for her to get a grip on this?” Camden asks and it is Ynanna that answers him. “Like now, it didn’t take long. However I am exhausted, just like last time. It is as if I get more exhausted every time it happens, almost as if it takes a lot from me and Ivy to keep the memories hidden the more I am around Roger.” She puts her head against my chest after she is finished speaking and soon she is fast asleep. I look at Kijani and he tells us that last time she didn’t fall asleep, but that Lucas had told him that she had dozed off from time to time in the car. I ask Amand to call Kaiden and ask him if he might have an explanation for this. Kaiden’s P.O.V. We are in the Archive once again and I need an excuse to stop reading these boring files. Aziza was right when she said that it looked as if someone had thrown them in there from the doorway. I have read through files from fifteen years ago, four years ago, a week ago and back to fifteen years ago. After we read through them, we places them in the correct filing cabinet and it is boring as hell. My phone starts ringing and I am surprised to see that it is Amand. “Amand, what can I do for you?” I ask and when he answers, I tap Aziza on her shoulder. “Do you mind if I put you on speaker? The Squad and Aziza are with me.” As soon as I get the okay, I put my phone on speaker and I tell him to continue. “Kaelan asked me to call you. We needed to pull Ynanna out of the Chamber again and she mentioned that every time it is as if she is getting more exhausted. As if Ivy needs more energy to hide, whatever it is she is hiding from Ynanna. Do you have any idea why that might be?” I am happy to be distracted from my task, but I wish it had been for a better reason.“You can compare it to a fight, the longer it takes or the stronger your opponent is, the more energy you will need to last till the end.” Aziza answers and I stare at her for the answer she gives. I tell Amand that she is probably correct, that it will take more and more energy to hide the memory and that it will get worse before it will get any better. “Amand, if it takes much longer before Ivy feels that Ynanna can handle the truth, they might end up in a coma again and I am afraid that this one might last longer than the first one.” Aziza says and I agree with her. “Amand, can Kaelan hear us?” She asks him and Kaelan says that he can hear us. “Kaelan, I don’t know where the two of you stand in this relationship, but I suggest that you mark her as soon as you can. With you and your Lycan connected to them, they are stronger and more than likely they will be able to deal with the memory. A Mate provides a lot of things and one of them is strength and she is going to need it.” Aziza says.Kaelan’s P.O.V. I listen to Aziza as she is answering the questions we have and I understand why Ynanna spoke so highly of her. This is a very smart woman and if any one can find evidence against Roger, it will be Aziza. I thank her for her answers and Amand walks out the room to fill them in on Roger’s interrogation. I pull Ynanna closer as Dash pushes forward a little, he wants to be close to her as well and I know that she needs both of us. My mind is processing everything Aziza told us and suddenly something clicks in my head, Ynanna had felt sorry for me spending all these years knowing she was my Mate. But I just realized that if I had found the courage I needed to talk to her somewhere in the past years, she might have been able to deal with the memory sooner and Ivy would have been back. We could have helped her with this memory and we would have been able to stop Roger years ago. “What about Taliyah?” Dash asks me and I ask him what he means.“Lets say that you are right, that we would have been able to stop Roger with what ever Ynanna knows. Would Taliyah have found herself in a situation that got her convicted? Would we have been there to pick her up? Would she have found her Mates? Or would she still be living her life the way she did until Xandros warned her?” My eyes widen as the significance of his words hit me and I know that I will use this with Ynanna the next time she tries to apologize for the past thirty-six years.
