Aziza’s P.O.V. For us, yesterday was an uneventful day, the guys didn’t find out anything extra information on Roger’s chosen Mates. I had gone through the Archive again and this time I decided to go from the present to the past, but none of the files I had read contained something that needed to be investigated. By the end of the day, Ynanna had contacted me and she had some disturbing news on Roger and she had good personal news. She told me I could inform the Squad on it and I could tell that she was really happy. I asked her to sent me everything from the interrogation and I knew that I would wait until morning before I would watch it. I wanted the Squad to be there, they needed to know if their investigation was over or not. “Goodmorning, Aziza.” Gunnar greets me as I walk in to the dining-room. I look around the room and see that there are no Pack-members, so I say “I would wait with calling this a Goodmorning, Gunnar.” They all stare at me and I tell them that after breakfast we will go over Roger’s interrogation from yesterday. “However, for Ynanna it actually is a Goodmorning.” I say with a huge smile on my face. “I will explain everything as soon as we are in the office, but first I need to decide whether or not I am going to have breakfast.” Kaiden looks at me and quickly walks out of the room. As soon as he is back he says “I opened all the doors on your way to the bathroom.” I burst out in laughter as I see the strange expression on Ragnar’s face. I decide on a light breakfast as I have no idea what the rest of the morning will bring. I also get a mug of coffee and sit down next to Kaiden. “Thank you for opening the doors. It is good to know that someone is watching my back.” As I take my first bite, my phone rings and the tone tells me that it is my Father. I pick up and look at Brennon’s smiling face, before I can say anything Kaiden grabs it saying “Hello, Brennon. Your big Sister has to eat her breakfast, so why don’t you tell me what you are up to.” Tullia starts laughing as Brennon stares at Kaiden, not sure whether to start crying or not. “Why do I have a feeling that my Daughter told you what happened the last time?” My Father asks and Kaiden just smiles at him. Kaiden introduces himself to my Father and soon the two of them are talking about me. I try to get my phone back, but Gunnar grabs my arms to keep me away from Kaiden. Chase, who is sitting across the table from me, grabs my fork and holds it in front of me with some scrambled eggs on it. I shake my head as I hear Gunnar say “Be a big girl and take a bite.” Which sends me in to a fit of laughter and I hear Tullia laugh in the background. After a few more minutes of annoying the hell out of me, Gunnar releases me and Chase puts my fork down. Kaiden is making funny faces towards Brennon as I eat my breakfast and I hear the little guy giggle his ass off. “You want to see your big Sister, Buddy?” Kaiden asks before he hands me my phone back. I talk to my Dad, making a few faces at Brennon and then I tell them that I have to get back to work. We say our goodbyes and I finish my coffee, before I tell the Squad that we will head to the office. Ragnar’s P.O.V. Her remark to Gunnar sends my Lycan in to a frenzy, he hates the fact that she could get upset again and I have to admit that I don’t like it much either. Luckily Gunnar was able to take her mind of it for a while as Kaiden took her phone away. Seeing the look on her face as she was talking to her family, is a sight I would like to see on her face constantly. As we make our way to the office, I see that she has refilled her mug and I wonder what she has in store for us. Kaiden holds my mug in front of me and I see that he has gotten me a refill as well. She gets her laptop and connects it to the screen on the other end of the room. Then she sits down while she grabs her coffee, she takes a sip as she looks at the table and I can tell that she is thinking. “As I said earlier, it is a good morning for Ynanna. Her Lycan spoke to her for the first time in almost forty years. Even though she isn’t completely sure, because of what she found out. It turns out that she met her Mate.” She lets the words land and I see smiles on my men’s faces until she says “Thirty-six years ago.” Hunter looks at her as he mutters “What.” She tells us what Ynanna had told her and I see Kaiden nodding his head. “It makes sense that her Lycan made the choice to protect her, if what happened back then is an indication than I understand why she choice protecting her Human over claiming her Mate.” He says and for a moment I am stunned. Kaiden sees my confusion and he says “Seeing that image flash through her head sent her in to a short coma, meaning that her body was unable to deal with the stress of that event. Unleashing that full memory could have sent her in to a coma for Goddess knows how long or even have resulted in her death.There is so much the medical world doesn’t fully understand yet, but I know enough about it to say that her Lycan made the right choice.” I think about what he said for a few minutes and I realize that whatever she witnessed was so horrifying that this was the only way her Lycan could protect her. I try to imagine what she could have witnessed with the little information we have and the only thing I can come up with is a murder. I feel her hand on my arm and with a jolt it pulls me from my thoughts. “Sorry, I called your name three times, but you where some were out of this world.” I smile at her and say “I was trying to figure out what she could have witnessed and the only thing I can come up with is a murder.” She nods her head and it turns out that they were discussing out loud, what I had been thinking. “We came to the same conclusion, but why would a murder cause this kind of trauma.” Kaiden asks and Aziza turns pale. “Aziza, what is it?” I ask, because we can all see that there is something running through her mind. “What if it was someone she knew? I mean it would be traumatic for any child to see a person close to them die.”She has done it again, she has stunned us in to silence with her words and I have to admit that she is one smart woman. She is good at her job and I understand why she graduated cum-laude from the Academy. Her Mate is one lucky bastard and that is when it hits me, this is what Kaiden had meant with his question. How could anyone ask her to stay home, to give up her career to take care of her Mate and Pups?
