The Council's Arcane Academy
Ynanna’s P.O.V. Kijani is waiting for me when I get back from my trip to the Council and I know that Armas told him what he needs to know, but he deserves the whole story if he is going to be my shadow. He walks me to my room and I ask him to come in, that we need to talk about his babysitting assignment and we both chuckle. I open the French-doors to the balcony and step outside with Kijani on my heels. “You found me the night Ivy vanished in to the back of my head. I don’t know if your Father-in-Law ever told you what happened, but it is happening again and Armas thinks he knows why she has retreated.” I tell him what happened all those years ago and what happened during my interrogation of Roger. “Ynanna, I will keep an eye on you. If the images become to much you link me and I will pull you out.I will not let you collapse in front of Roger, I promise you that I have your back.” He says and I know that he will keep his word. “Lets get some sleep, I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow. I just hope that Aziza has something for me to start from, yesterday was just a hunch that paid out.” I say as I lead him out of my room. Before I turn in, I send Aziza a message asking for anything I might be able to use during my interrogation of Roger. As my eyes slowly close, I see Kaelan’s face and I fall asleep with a smile on my face. Roger’s P.O.V. I had hoped that Ynanna would get me out of my cage again, but the guards never showed to take me away. Instead I spent the entire day watching two guards taking out their rage on my Sister, she is getting more withdraw by the day and sometimes she doesn’t even answer me. I know that I am responsible for what they are doing to her, but I think I blame our Father the most for it. My Wolf is roaring in my head as we remember the day that we found out what he and my Uncles had been doing, even though it started years before that day. When Sofia was twelve, our Father had invited the family to the Pack-house for the day and after an hour or so he and my Uncles had made their way in to his office. After an other hour or so, I had gotten bored with my Aunts and Mother jabbering about dresses, other female issues and Mates. Sofia had left just before me and as I walked in to the hallway I saw her entering our Father’s office. When I saw her later that day she refused to tell me why Father had called her in to his office, but she changed after that day. I didn’t find out what was going on until years later and by that time the damage had already been done. I hadn’t seen her for years, because the day she became of age she walked out of the Pack-house. She returned more then a decade later, Sofia had changed from an adorable, kind little girl to a woman that only had eyes for men that could give her power. It took me a while before she finally opened up to me, my Wolf had taken control in a split second and had roared as he made his way up the stairs. My Father had tried to flee, but he was no match for my Wolf and we had him cornered in the backyard. My Father’s Gamma had demanded answers and when I told everyone through the mind-link that I had challenged him for the title, his Gamma stepped back with the rest of the Pack after Father confirmed my statement. No one said a word as I looked at Sofia, the second she nodded her head we ripped him apart. I kept his Gamma and Beta and took over the Pack, no one was allowed to say a word about it and as far as I know no one ever did. “I am sorry, Sofia. I know that I am to blame for this.” I tell her through the mind-link as she is curled up in the corner of her cage. Eva is stroking her hair, whispering quietly to her. I see tears in Eva’s eyes as she moves a little closer to Sofia, but I can’t see what is going on. Eva’s right hand is holding on to both her hands and her left hand slowly glides towards her neck.“We are both to blame for this, Roger. Just remember that I love you.” Sofia says and as I look at her, I see that Eva has her claw out. Without making a noise she slits Sofia’s throat and she keeps whispering until my Sister takes her last breath. I know that I can’t link Eva, so I ask Talon to thank her for the mercy she has shown my Sister. Eva gives me a small smile and Talon tells me that it was Sofia’s request. Sofia has been dead for thirty minutes before a guard notices and I just laugh as I hear Kijani cuss and swear. “Looks like in the end Sofia was smarter then all of us combined, when she asked Eva to end her.” I whisper as her body gets taken away. Council-member Armas Kijani called me after they had found Sofia dead in her cage, her throat had been slit and they knew that Eva had done it. To make sure no one else could do the same thing, they pulled the cages apart and I told them to save Sofia’s cage for Ayden. He had proved that he was beyond saving and would be trialed without mitigating circumstances. I then had the debatable honor of informing the King of his Mother’s passing and Boaz asked me if he could accompany me to the Palace, but I told him that I had already asked Vivyanna. Vivyanna and I make our way to the King’s office as I notice that she is becoming a bit nervous. It is strange to see in her the things we all considered fables, I had read the research that she had questioned me about so long ago. Most Lycans and Werewolves believe that only around the Full Moon you can find out who your Mate is, but according to the research there are signs that can show whether or not someone could be your Mate before that time. The research started about a century after the War and spans over one-hundred and fifty years of research. Males and females had volunteered to participate and they had given the researchers a lot of information. Thousands of Lycans and Werewolves had answered their questions and out of them, there had been over fifty couples that confirmed the researchers suspicions. If fated Mates met before the Full Moon they would feel a strong attraction to one and other, everything a fated couple feels was felt by the couples in a lesser capacity. Feelings of safety, possessiveness, protectiveness and a strong sexual attraction. The main thing the couples had in common was that the other was able to calm them down under all circumstances, something only fated Mates are capable of. The Council knows about this, but we don’t allow anyone to act on it. For one simple reason, there were more that didn’t feel these things before the Full Moon. Vivyanna and Xandros have showed me that there might be some truth to the research, but they will not act on it and a big part of me hopes that they will find out that they are fated Mates during the next Full Moon.
