The Replacement He Never Wanted

Chapter 432 Kill Two Birds With One Stone

He simply rose from his seat and opened the door. Standing in the doorway was Lana, holding a cup of tea. It was freshly brewed, with steam still rising from the teapot, swirling gently into the air. "This is the tea Mrs. Marilyn specifically asked me to make for Ms. Dolton. It's a calming blend to help her sleep. "I knocked on the door for a while, but no one answered. I had no choice but to intrude and force the door open. "But when I came inside, there was no one. It's freezing outside, and it's nighttime. Mr. Johnston, should you go look for Ms. Dolton?" Lana's voice was full of concern, as if she genuinely worried about Virginia's well-being. "No need. She's here." Virginia, standing behind Lance, weakly peeked her head out and waved at Lana. "Lana, I'm here." Lana looked shocked when she saw Virginia's face appear from behind Lance."Ms. Dolton, what are you doing here?! "And Ms. Daves? Didn't Mrs. Marilyn say Ms. Daves was supposed to sleep in the master bedroom tonight?" Lana nearly dropped the cup in her hand. "Ms. Dolton, you didn't make Ms. Daves sleep in another room, did you?" Ms. Daveswassuch a gentle person. Shecouldn'tpossiblyhavebeenmovedtotheservants' quarters ... Thatisunthinkable. Virginia'slackofmannerswasastonishing. Didn'tsheknowwhowasthehostandwhowastheguest? Shehadn'tevenmarriedintothefamilyandwasalreadypushing Ms. Davesout. Herjealousywasoutofcontrol. Virginia peeked her head out, and when she saw Lana's worried expression, she immediately knew something was terribly wrong. At this rate, Lana was probably going to rush upstairs to tell Marilyn everything. She quickly explained, "Addison is here! "Look, she's right next to me. I didn't send her to another room," Virginia argued, her face stiff. She didn't want to explain but was compelled to do this to avoid Marilyn causing more trouble. After all, as long as Marilyn was alive, she held the ultimate authority in the household. If she wanted to marry into the family, she still needed Marilyn's approval. ... Lana took a few steps into the room and saw Addison sitting on the edge of the bed. "Ms. Daves, have you been mistreated?" Lana asked seriously. "If anyone bullies you, please tell me. Don't be afraid. Mrs. Marilyn will stand up for you." She could tell right away that Addison wasn't the type of woman who could stand up to someone like Virginia. Lana couldn't just watch as Addison was bullied. Virginia couldn't sit still after hearing this. "What are you talking about? Who's bullying her? "She's the one who's bullying me!" Virginia jumped up angrily. "I'm the one who's been mistreated here!" But Lana ignored her, acting as though Virginia wasn't even there. She turned to Addison and said, "Ms. Daves, if you feel mistreated, you can always go upstairs and sleep with Mrs. Marilyn. She'd be more than happy to have you." Virginia, standing off to the side, quickly interrupted. "Yes, Addison, if you feel wronged, you should go upstairs and sleep with Marilyn!" She couldn't wait for Addison to leave. After all, Marilyn didn't like her, and there was no need for her to keep pushing herself toward her. She might as well take this chance to send Addison away and get rid of two problems at once.
