The Replacement He Never Wanted
"Did you make this, Uncle Leon?" Addison asked a flash of surprise in her eyes. Leon had no skills outside of pharmaceutical work. To see such a beautifully crafted furnace, could it have been made by him? "What? You don't believe me? Are you doubting me?" Leon immediately straightened up, as though slightly angry. "No, no, of course not." "It's just that this furnace is so beautiful. It really surprised me. I didn't expect you to have quickly improved at hands-on work!" Leon's frown faded as she spoke. "Cut it out. Morris made this furnace. " suddenly, Matthew walked out of the kitchen, his hands behind his back. "Ask him to be honest with himself. Do you really think he could make something like this?" With a cold snort, Matthew quickly saw through the situation. Addison was a little confused and turned to Leon. "Uncle Leon, is this the furnace?" "Dad, why are you ruining my fun?" Leon said helplessly. "Addy is a prodigy. She picks up anything so quickly. Even I can't match her talent and ability. "Now, finally, I made her admire me, and you've ruined it all." Leon dramatically clutched his chest in despair. "Hmph," Matthew snorted again. "Using Morris's credit to claim it for yourself, you have some nerve." Hearing Matthew's blunt criticism, Leon didn't get angry. Instead, he laughed, his temper unusually mild. "Morris's achievements are my achievements, and my achievements are his. We're inseparable. "Right, Morris?" Leon turned to poke Morris, who was still engrossed in his work on the furnace. Morris was crouched down, focused on examining the furnace. His face was covered in beads of sweat. When Leon poked him, he looked up in confusion. "What?" His face was dotted with mud, and his ginger-colored work jacket had turned a deeper yellow from the dirt. With the mud on his face and that dazed expression, Morris suddenly seemed less like the tough guy he usually was and more endearing. Addison looked at Morris, and the sight tickled her sense of humor. She couldn't help but tease him. "Morris, didn't you hear? Let me repeat it for you. "Uncle Leon said you're his buddy. What's yours is his, and what's his is yours." She said with a playful tone. As soon as the words left her mouth, Morris's expression became awkward, and his face turned bright red. His hands trembled slightly as he held the furnace. "What?" Seeing Morris's red face, Leon immediately stepped in to mediate. "Don't listen to Addy, I didn't say that. "Addy is just teasing you." At this point, Morris's face was as red as a boiled egg, and the more Leon looked at it, the more he felt embarrassed. At first, Leon thought nothing of it, but when he looked up and saw Morris' face, he felt a sudden sense of embarrassment. Addison, with a playful smile, watched them both. Her gaze made Leon, usually calm and imposing, break into a cold sweat. Morris, too, stood up, nervously brushing his sweaty hair. "Morris, why is your face so red? Uncle Leon, why is your face so red, too?" Leon shot Addison a pointed look at this, then immediately turned to comfort Morris. "Morris, don't listen to Addy. Go and finish the furnace. I'll teach her a lesson." Seeing Leon coming toward her, Addison quickly took off running. "I didn't say anything wrong!" She hid behind Matthew, gently holding his shoulder, her head peeking from behind him. "Uncle Leon definitely said that! "Why are you embarrassed now? You were so straightforward about it earlier!" Addison grinned, clearly enjoying the moment. "You little brat." Leon rolled up his sleeves and smiled as he tried to catch Addison.Addison quickly stepped behind Matthew, hiding herself. "Got the guts to tease me? Then don't hide!" The two of them chased each other around, laughing and teasing. Matthew sighed as he watched them, but a soft smile tugged at his lips. Since Addison married, he hadn't seen such lively scenes in a long time. He wasn't sure how long Addison would stay this time, but he was determined to savor this brief moment of happiness as much as possible. The two of them ran farther and farther, laughing joyfully, leaving only the sound of Addison's tinkling laughter behind them. Matthew, too old to keep up, could only call after them from behind, "Slow down, watch your step, don't trip!" Morris stood up, patting the mud off his clothes. "Mr. Matthew, the furnace is finished. I'm free now; I'll go protect Ms. Addison."
